Yesterday ended another season in the game of Dcrops which is a farming game created and developed on the Hive blockchain.
I've been following this project since the beginning, I participated in the first airdrop that distributed a free pack of cards to the first hundred people who entered their Hive username in the Dcrops discord channel and I started investing and playing from the second season (May 2021).

After each end of season I have always published a report to monitor my personal investment on Dcrops and to share my results and considerations.
Since the end of the previous season I decided to add utility to my financial reports on Dcrops game with the indication of the cards that in my opinion are the best cards to buy in the current season.
I hope in this way to be useful to who is a new player of Dcrops or to who has just started and doesn't know yet how to move in the choice of the cards to buy.

The best cards to buy (11 January 2022)

---

In the game of Dcrops there are three types of cards:

• LAND cards
• SEED cards
• BOOST cards

I leave out the BOOST cards that are useful but not essential to start playing Dcrops.
Dcrops is not a free game and whoever wants to start as a farmer must buy at least 2 cards of different types:

• 1 LAND card
• 1 SEED card

The LAND cards have a continuous use because they can be used in every season that in the game of Dcrops have a duration of 15 days.
The SEED cards have instead a discontinuous use because they can be used only in a particular season and then they can be used every 45 days.

Cards LAND: The best purchase

---

In the game of Dcrops there are four different types of LAND cards (following image).

A SEED card needs one plot to be used, and LAND cards have a number of plots that increases as the rarity of the card increases (min.1 - max 4):

• Average Farmland (Common type card): 1 plot = 1 usable seed card
• Fertile Land (rare card): 2 plots = 2 usable seed cards at the same time
• Awesome Land (Epic card type): 3 plots = 3 seed cards that can be used at the same time
• Hi-Tec Land (Legendary type card): 4 plots = 4 seed cards usable at the same time

LAND cards also allow you to get a harvest bonus, a bonus that increases as the rarity level of the Land card increases (from 2% to 10%) and that indicates the probability of a SEED card to receive additional CROP at harvest time.

This bonus is something to consider when buying a LAND card but it is not my main criteria for choosing which Land card to buy.
The best LAND card to buy is for me the card that has the lowest Cost per Plot.

In the following table I have included the prices of the LAND cards for sale on the Dcrops market today January 11 and I have calculated the Cost per Plot in SWAP.HIVE considering the two most used payment methods:

• payment using SWAP.HIVE tokens.
• payment using CROP tokens (the native tokens of the Dcrops game.

In my previous post I identified Fertile Land as the best buy and today, after 14 days, the best buy considering the lowest cost per plot is the Average Farmland card which has a cost per plot of 0.9 SWAP.HIVE.

SEED cards: The best buy for the summer season

---

There are five SEED cards that can be used during the summer:

• Wheat card (common)
• Turnip card (common)
• Watermelon card (rare)
• Tomato card (epic)
• Blueberry card (legendary)

The Bueberry and Tomato cards can be used throughout the summer season while the remaining three cards (Watermelon, Turnip, and Wheat) can only be used once during the season.

Thanks to the use of SEED cards, the Dcrops player obtains agricultural products that he can then sell in exchange for SHARES points.
The SHARES points are important because they allow the player to enter the Dcrops Leaderboard, which distributes CROP tokens as a reward at the end of the season.

When choosing which SEED cards to purchase, it is important to calculate the SHARES Points/HIVE ratio for each SEED card that can be used in a given season.

**The SHARES POINTS/HIVE ratio indicates the minimum number of SHARES points that can be obtained for each HIVE token spent on the purchase of a SEED card.

Calculating the value of each SEED card's SHARES POINTS/HIVE ratio is easy:

Total SHARES Points obtainable from the SEED card in a season / SEED card purchase cost (in HIVE)

As you can see from the calculations in the table below, the card that has the highest SHARES points/HIVE ratio value is the Turnip card (56) which is also the best card to buy in the current season.
Each HIVE token spent on the purchase of a Turnip card earns a minimum of 56 SHARES points.
The card that has the lowest SHARES/HIVE points ratio is the legendary Blueberry card, which is the purchase I do not recommend.

Evaluation of my investment on Dcrops

To evaluate my investment on Dcrops I have to consider:

• the total cost of my investment
• the total value of the game assets in my possession.

Up to now I haven't sold any assets in my possession otherwise I would have to consider the total value of the revenues obtained from the sale of the assets of the game.

Total cost of my investment

---

The total cost of my investment on Dcrops is the cost I've incurred to date to purchase:

• packs of Alpha cards
• individual cards from the Dcrops marketplace.

To date, I have invested 156.57 HIVE tokens.

Total value of assets in my possession

---

The total value of the assets in my possession is given by the sum of the following values:

• value of the cards collection
• value of card packs bought but not opened
• total value of game rewards received (CROP tokens and HIVE tokens)

The value of my card collection

---

My card collection consists of 193 cards (NFT):

• 18 LAND cards
• 175 SEED cards

To calculate the value of my card collection, I built a simple table with my spreadsheet (image below).
For each card in my possession I took into consideration the lowest selling price on the Dcrops market on today's date: January 11, 2022.

As you can see from the calculations in the table above the market value of my card collection is 194.52 SWAP.HIVE = $237.31.

Compared to 14 days ago (December 28, 2021) my card collection has increased in value in terms of SWAP.HIVE tokens but has lost value in terms of dollars:

• + 8.51 SWAP.HIVE
• - 67.742 $

The value of card packs in my possession

---

To date I have purchased 34 Alpha card packs but 20 card packs I have decided not to open in order to increase my CROP Power by 40000 points.

Today January 11, 2022 the value of an ALPHA card pack = DCALPHA token on Hive Engine, Tribal Dex or LeoDEX is:

• 5.49 SWAP.HIVE = $6.69 (Lowest Ask).
• 3.60 SWAP.HIVE = 4.39$ (Highest BID)

In the following image you can see the Candlestick chart for the period November 10, 2021 - January 11, 2022.

In the calculations of my report I consider the lowest value of the packs of Alpha cards (Highest Bid: 3.60 SWAP.HIVE) even if as you can see from the trade history of Hive Engine (following image) all the packs bought in the previous days have been bought at a price higher than 5.48 SWAP.HIVE.

The total value of the packs of Alpha cards in my possession is 72.00 SWAP.HIVE = $87.84

The value of my CROP tokens

---

CROP tokens are the native tokens of Dcrops, they are second level tokens on the Hive blockchain and can be bought and sold on Hive Engine/TribalDex/LeoDEX.
CROP tokens are also the seasonal reward for placement on Dcrops' Leaderboard.

The Leaderboard rewards players based on their game activity over a 15-day (seasonal) time frame.
There is a Reward Pool consisting of a certain amount of CROP tokens that is divided at the end of each season among all active players based on the amount of SHARES points totaled during the season.
The Reward Pool decreases by 0.5% at the beginning of each season.

Last season (spring) I harvested 1075 Shares worth of crops.
I have always sold the agricultural products immediately after the harvest but in the spring I had decided to follow a different strategy and conserve:

• one unit of 3-star quality agricultural product of each type,
• two units of quality agricultural product 2 stars for each product type
• three units of agricultural product quality 1 star for each product type

This way I would have a better chance of completing the fortnightly missions without needing to hit the Reroll button and spend the CROP tokens when I received a mission that could not be completed in the current season.

The night before the end of the season I tried to implement my strategy but quickly noticed that implementing it would take a long time and I didn't have much time that night.
Basically at the end I forgot to sell the agricultural products and for this reason the amount of CROP tokens in my possession remained unchanged from the previous season: 5235 CROP tokens

CROP tokens are second level tokens on Hive's blockchain and the value of 5235,633 CROP tokens is 9.16 HIVE = $11.17

Holding Rewards

In the spring season I didn't get any rewards from the Leaderboards through no fault of my own but I still continued to receive rewards from the Holding Rewards leaderboard which rewards players based on CROP POWER with a daily reward in HIVE tokens.
CROP POWER is a score assigned to each player based on the type and amount of in-game assets the player owns.
My CROP POWER score is 45872.60 points.

The value of the last reward I received was 0.106 HIVE (My share: 0.1424%, APY:35.15).

The total rewards I have received from the Holding Rewards leaderboard to date is 10.22 HIVE.

Profit, Roi and Considerations

I have collected all the data I need (total costs, total assets value and total value of rewards received) and I can calculate the Profit and ROI of my investment on Dcrops.

Until today, January 11, 2021, I have invested in the game of Dcrops 156.57 HIVE:
The total value of my card collection is 194.52 HIVE (estimated value).
The total value of the 20 packs of Alpha cards in my possession is 72 HIVE.
The total value of Holding Rewards received is 11.61 HIVE
The value of the CROP tokens in my wallet is 9.16 HIVE.

I started playing and investing in the Dcrops game in late May 2021 when the second season of the game was underway.

In a time span of 7.5 months I invested 156.57 HIVE tokens and got a profit of 130.72 HIVE = $159.48

Final Considerations

Dcrops is a game that I like because I love nature and producing agricultural products, even if they are virtual, is fun.
Dcrops is a simple game to play and it takes very little time, the graphics are nice but it also has some aspects that can be improved.

For example, implementing the strategy of keeping some agricultural products and not selling them in order to complete missions more easily is not very functional.
For example, if I have collected 200 agricultural products during a season and I have decided not to sell 10 of them, I have to click on the Sell button under the image of each product I want to sell = 190 clicks.

A possible improvement that I hope @dcrops will add in the future is to allow the opposite selection, that is to select all products (Select All) and then deselect only those that you do not want to sell.

Dopo ogni fine stagione ho sempre pubblicato un report per monitorare il mio personale investimento su Dcrops e per condividere i miei risultati e le mie considerazioni su Dcrops.

Le migliori carte da acquistare (11 gennaio 2022)

---

Nel gioco di Dcrops ci sono tre tipi di carte:

• carte LAND
• carte SEED
• carte BOOST

Tralascio le carte BOOST che sono utili ma non indispensabili per iniziare a giocare su Dcrops.
Dcrops non è un gioco gratuito e chi vuole iniziare la sua attività da imprenditore agricolo deve acquistare almeno 2 carte di tipologia diversa:

• 1 carta LAND
• 1 carta SEED

Le carte LAND hanno un utilizzo continuo perchè possono essere utilizzate in ogni stagione che nel gioco di Dcrops hanno una durata di 15 giorni.
Le carte SEED hanno invece un utilizzo discontinuo perchè possono essere utilizzate soltanto in una determinata stagione e quindi possono essere utilizzate ogni 45 giorni.

Carte LAND: Il miglior acquisto

---

Nel gioco di Dcrops esistono quattro tiologie diverse di carte LAND (immagine seguente).

Una carta SEED ha bisogno di un terreno per essere utilizzata e le carte LAND hanno un numero di terreni che aumenta con l'aumentare della rarità della carta (min.1 - max 4):

• Average Farmland (carta di tipo Comune): 1 terreno = 1 carta seme utilizzabile
• Fertile Land (carta di tipo Rara): 2 terreni = 2 carte seme utilizzabili contemporaneamente
• Awesome Land (carta di tipo Epica): 3 terreni = 3 carte seme utilizzabili contemporaneamente
• Hi-Tec Land (carta di tipo Leggendaria): 4 terreni = 4 carte seme utilizzabili contemporaneamente

Le carte LAND permettono anche di ottenere un bonus sul raccolto, bonus che aumenta con l'aumentare del livello di rarità della carta Land (dal 2% al 10%) e che indica la probabilità di una carta SEED di ricevere dei CROP aggiuntivi al momento del raccolto.

Questo bonus è un elemento da considerare nell'acquisto di una carta LAND ma non è il mio criterio principale per scegliere quale carta Land comprare.
La migliore carta LAND da comprare è per me la carta che ha il Costo per Plot più basso.

Nella tabella seguente ho inserito i prezzi delle carte LAND in vendita sul mercato di Dcrops oggi 11 gennaio e ho calcolato il Costo per Plot in SWAP.HIVE considerando i due metodi di pagamento più utilizzati:

• pagamento utilizzando i token SWAP.HIVE
• pagamento utilizzando i token CROP (i token nativi del gioco di Dcrops.

Nel mio precedente post avevo individuato la Fertile Land come migliore acquisto e oggi, dopo 14 giorni, il miglior acquisto considerando il costo per plot più basso è la carta Average Farmland che ha un costo per plot di 0.9 SWAP.HIVE.

Carte SEED: Il miglior acquisto per la stagione estiva

---

Le carte SEED utilizzabili durante l'estate sono cinque:

• carta Wheat (comune)
• carta Turnip (comune)
• carta Watermelon (rara)
• carta Tomato (epica)
• carta Blueberry (leggendaria)

Le carte Bueberry e Tomato possono essere utilizzate durante tutta la stagione estiva mentre le restanti tre carte (Watermelon, Turnip e Wheat) possono essere utilizzate una sola volta durante la stagione.

Grazie all'utilizzo delle carte SEED il giocatore di Dcrops ottiene i prodotti agricoli che può poi vendere in cambio di punti SHARE.
I punti SHARES sono importanti perchè permettono di entrare nella Leaderboard di Dcrops che distribuisce i token CROP come ricompensa di fine stagione.

Nella scelta delle carte SEED da acquistare è importante calcolare il rapporto Punti Shares/HIVE per ogni carta SEED utilizzabile in una determinata stagione.

Il rapporto PUNTI SHARES/HIVE indica il numero minimo dei punti Shares ottenibile per ogni token HIVE speso nell'acquisto di una carta SEED.

Calcolare il valore del rapporto PUNTI SHARES/HIVE di ogni carta SEED è facile:

Totale Punti SHARES ottenibili dalla carta SEME in una stagione / costo di acquisto della carta SEME (in HIVE)

Come puoi vedere dai calcoli nella tabella seguente, la carta che ha il valore del rapporto punti SHARES/HIVE più alto è la carta Turnip (56) che è anche la carta migliore da acquistare nella stagione in corso.
Ogni token HIVE speso nell'acquisto di una carta Turnip permette di guadagnare un minimo di 56 punti SHARES.
La carta che ha il rapporto punti SHARES/HIVE più basso è proprio la carta leggendaria Blueberry che è l'acquisto che sconsiglio di effettuare.

• il costo totale del mio investimento
• il valore totale degli assets del gioco in mio possesso

Fino ad oggi non ho venduto nessun asset in mio possesso altrimenti dovrei considerare anche il valore totale dei ricavi ottenuti dalla vendita degli assets del gioco

• i pacchi di carte Alpha
• singole carte dal mercato di Dcrops.

Il valore totale degli assets in mio possesso è dato dalla somma dei seguenti valori:

• valore della collezione di carte
• valore dei pacchi di carte acquistati ma non aperti
• valore totale delle ricompense di gioco ricevute (token CROP e token HIVE)

La mia collezione di carte è composta da 193 carte (NFT):

• 18 carte LAND
• 175 carte SEED

Per calcolare il valore della mia collezione di carte ho costruito una semplice tabella con il mio foglio di calcolo (immagine seguente).
Per ogni carta in mio possesso ho preso in considerazione il prezzo di vendita più basso presente sul mercato di Dcrops in data odierna: 11 gennaio 2022.

Come puoi vedere dai calcoli presenti nella tabella in alto il valore di mercato della mia collezione di carte è di 194.52 SWAP.HIVE = 237.31$.

Rispetto a 14 giorni fa (28 dicembre 2021) la mia collezione di carte ha aumentato il suo valore in termini di token SWAP.HIVE ma ha perso valore in termini di dollari:

• + 8.51 SWAP.HIVE
• - 67.742 $

Il valore dei pacchi di carte in mio possesso

Fino ad oggi ho acquistato 34 pacchi di carte Alpha ma 20 pacchi di carte ho deciso di non aprirli per far aumentare il mio CROP Power di 40000 punti.

Oggi 11 gennaio 2022 il valore di un pacco di carta ALPHA = token DCALPHA su Hive Engine, Tribal Dex o LeoDEX è di:

• 5.49 SWAP.HIVE = 6.69$ (Lowest Ask)
• 3.60 SWAP.HIVE = 4.39$ (Highest BID)

Nell'immagine seguente puoi vedere il grafico Candlestick relativo al periodo 10 novembre 2021 - 11 gennaio 2022.

Nei calcoli del mio report considero il valore più basso dei pacchi di carte Aplpha (Highest Bid: 3.60 SWAP.HIVE) anche se come puoi vedere dalla trade history di Hive Engine (immagine seguente) tutti i pacchi acquistati nei giorni precedenti sono stati acquistati ad un prezzo superiore a 5.48 SWAP.HIVE.

Il valore totale dei pacchi di carte Alpha in mio possesso è di 72.00 SWAP.HIVE = 87.84$

Il valore dei miei token CROP

---

I token CROP sono i token nativi di Dcrops, sono token di secondo livello della blockchain di Hive e possono essere comprati e venduti su Hive Engine/TribalDex/LeoDEX.
I token CROP sono anche la ricompensa stagionale per il posizionamento nella Leaderboard di Dcrops.

La Leaderboard premia i giocatori in base alla loro attività di gioco in un intervallo di tempo di 15 giorni (stagionale).
C'è una Reward Pool costituita da un certo quantitativo di token CROP (i token nativi del gioco) che viene divisa al termine di ogni stagione tra tutti i giocatori attivi in base al quantitativo di punti SHARES totalizzati durante la stagione.
La Reward Pool subisce un decremento dello 0.5% ad ogni inizio di stagione.

Nell'ultima stagione conclusa (primavera) ho raccolto prodotti agricoli per un valore di 1075 Shares.
Ho sempre venduto i prodotti agricoli subito dopo il raccolto ma nella primavera avevo deciso di seguire una strategia diversa e di conservarmi:

• una unità di prodotto agricolo di qualità 3 stelle per ogni tipologia di prodotto,
• due unità di prodotto agricolo di qualità 2 stelle per ogni tipologia di prodotto
• tre unità di prodotto agricolo di qualità 1 stella per ogni tipologia di prodotto

In questo modo avrei avuto più possibilità di completare le missioni quindicinali senza avere la necessità di premere il tasto Reroll e spendere i token CROP quando avrei ricevuto una missione non completabile nella stagione in corso.

La sera prima della fine della stagione ho cercato di attuare la mia strategia ma ho subito notato che attuarla avrebbe richiesto molto tempo e quella sera non avevo molto tempo.
In pratica alla fine mi sono dimenticato di vendere i prodotti agricoli e per questo motivo il quantitativo di token CROP in mio possesso è rimasto invariato rispetto alla stagione precedente: 5235 token CROP

I token CROP sono dei token di secondo livello della blockchain di Hive e il valore di 5235.633 token CROP è di 9.16 HIVE = 11.17$

Holding Rewards

Nella stagione primaverile non ho ottenuto ricompense dalla classifica Leaderboards per colpa mia ma ho comunque continuato a ricevere ricompense dalla classifica Holding Rewards che premia i giocatori in base al CROP POWER con una ricompensa giornaliera in token HIVE.
Il CROP POWER è un punteggio assegnato ad ogni giocatore in base al tipo e alla quantità di assets del gioco che il giocatore possiede.
Il mio punteggio CROP POWER è di 45872.60 punti.

Il valore dell'ultima ricompensa che ho ricevuto è stato di 0.106 HIVE (My share: 0.1424%, APY:35.15).

Il totale delle ricompese che ho ricevuto dalla classifica Holding Rewards fino ad oggi è di 10.22 HIVE.

Ho raccolto tutti i dati che mi servono (totale costi, totale valore assets e totale valore delle ricompense ricevute) e posso calcolare il Profitto e il ROI del mio investimento su Dcrops.

Fino ad oggi, 11 gennaio 2021, ho investito nel gioco di Dcrops 156.57 HIVE:
Il valore totale della mia collezione di carte è di 194,52 HIVE (valore stimato)
Il valore totale dei 20 pacchi di carte Alpha in mio possesso è di 72 HIVE
Il valore totale delle ricompense Holding Rewards ricevute è di 11,61 HIVE
Il valore dei token CROP nel mio wallet è di 9,16 HIVE.

Ho iniziato a giocare e ad investire nel gioco di Dcrops a fine maggio 2021 quando era in corso la seconda stagione del gioco.

In un intervallo di tempo di 7 mesi e mezzo ho investito 156.57 token HIVE e ho ottenuto un profitto di 130.72 HIVE = 159.48$

Dcrops è un gioco che mi piace perchè amo la natura e produrre prodotti agricoli anche se virtuali mi diverte.
Dcrops è un gioco semplice da giocare e che richiede davvero poco tempo, la grafica è carina ma ha anche degli aspetti migliorabili.

Ad esempio attuare la strategia di conservare alcuni prodotti agricoli e non venderli con lo scopo di completare più agevolmente le missioni non è molto funzionale.
Se ad esempio ho raccolto 200 prodotti agricoli durante una stagione e ho deciso di non venderne 10 devo cliccare sul bottone Sell sotto l'immagine di ogni prodotto che voglio vendere = 90 click.

Una possibile miglioria che spero @dcrops aggiunga in futuro è quella di permettere di effettuare la selezione opposta e cioè quella di selezionare tutti i prodotti (Select All) e poi di deselezionare solo quelli che non si vogliono vendere.
