Bird-Watching and Photography
Birding is my hobby and I try to travel around Pakistan. I visited Chakwal for birding and saw some amazing birds on this trip. Chakwal is a beautiful area having many lakes and a lot of vegetation. During my birding trip, the first bird that I observed was Stone Chat, a very common bird in all over Pakistan. It is mostly found in an open area sitting on bushes and on the ground. I also saw the Indian Roller mostly sitting on an electricity wire.
Another common bird that I saw in this area was Crested Lark, mostly found foraging on the ground. I also saw common babbler perching on a tree. Brahminy starling also had a nest on a tree. This starling is mainly a passerine bird and stays for a few months ad then goes to another destination. Another common bird is the long-tailed shrike and also honey buzzard flying around in search of prey.
One of the main highlights of this trip is Green Bee-eater. These birds live around the water pond and eat insects and flies. Green Bee-eater is small in size. I saw these birds near the roadside. These birds fly very low and mostly sit on the floor or on low bushes. Some birds have prey and sit on bushes.
