After Nigerian government suspended twitter, whats the way forward to resist censorship!
As seen on Twitter from the Nigerian Ministry of information and culture, the use of twitter in Nigeria has been suspended.
Day by day the problem of censorship keeps resurfacing, and its looking like a batlle that cannot be won,
Now i asked where is the rule of law, where is the freedom of speech?
Again, the citizens rule of law has been jeopardized and freedom of speech has been taken away from all Nigerian citizens.
- this happened after the Nigeria president had twitted the above image, threatening to treat people in the language they understand which is war, reminding us of the civil war the happened in 1967.
Twitter found this offensive and saw that it violated that rules and policies, so they took down the post.
Could this have prompted the Nigerian government into suspending twitter in the country?
- Well maybe they felt they are not getting the necessary supports, the president has caused chaos in the country and i feel no normal human being would ever embraced war as the president had said in his tweet.
Nigerians in the past have successfully use the #hastags on #Twitter to Voice out their disapprovals on some of the governments its policies, and we've successfully gained supports from the International bodies.
I think the government now see this as a threat
- you will recall that the Nigerian government had earlier banned cryptocurrencies in the country, whereby most of us have to rely on P2P means of trading, not minding huge amount of money we lose in the process.
A country where most of the youths stood for themselves since there is no job, had to hustle really hard just to make a living for ourselves.
I say what next for someone like me and others who shill #hive on twitter, partake in the giveaway and all. Every week i do take part in #hiveslotgames on twitter plus, other tweets and retweets when duty calls.
I asked whats the way forward?
Here, Am calling on every Nigerian shilling hive #hivenaija community, the whales to wakeup and do more promoting decentralised apps, #Dapps #hive to the masses especially those who are yet to adopt and sign in, as this is the only resistant to censorship.
As much as we'all we love todo more, some of us are not even buoyant enough, as there are no much hive powers to onboard and give to newbies, and for those of us who had established ourselves still need more tokens to motivates those are yet to be onboarded.
