I made a big mistake in the @calumam contest, but I learned a big lesson.

Attention is power. When we are giving genuine attention to something, we hardly ever make a mistake, have you noticed that?

In a situation, whatever it is, attention is crucial for us to keep ourselves well and safe. Attention can not only save us from trouble, it can save our own lives.

And obviously, attention is needed for us to be able to respect rules.

In this week's Pob-wotw, @calumam's chosen word was CAUSALITY, and I simply confused it with CASUALITY.

What happens is that as many of you may know, my English is not fluent and although I can read English well, I still can't speak and write long texts without the help of google translator.

So, for optimization reasons, I write in Portuguese and use google translator and Grammarly to help me with corrections. But this time they both failed me, and mostly, I failed myself for not giving genuine attention to the word of the week.

As you can see, google translates the two words in the same way in Portuguese.

What did I learn from this? Something that some people closest to me were already warning: ‘’@aiuna, you are very inattentive’’

I need to remember that attention is what will make me get things done as efficiently as possible.

This week's Pob-wotw made me look at this, made me see something that I really need to change in myself or I will continue to hurt myself.

Have a good weekend everyone and pay attention.

@aiuna.

I think @diebitch picked up the similarity in the words early on and talked about the causality casualties. I am a native speaker but still had a hard time getting the two words exactly straight in my mind.

A simple failure is a great learning experience and opens up to us how challenging the word of the week can be. The words chosen are purposely chosen for us to think over a few times and research. It's a huge contest and you were not the only one who got the words mixed up at least once.

What’s funny is that I never noticed the error until After I was done reading your post. I wouldn’t worry about it. People make mistakes and yours was an easy one to make.

Na verdade não... Elas estão diferente em ambos casos, tanto inglês como em português.

Agora minha mente bugou hahaha Porque eu não sei se eu realmente entendi o que você se confundiu porque eu vi e reli com muita calma e ainda não consigo entender >.<

Well, if anything, THIS is a good post on causality :-) You'll bounce back next week for sure! I am sorry the letters didn't fall the right way round for you though :-(

A comprehensive and acceptable mistake.

By the way, I think one of the intentions of @calumam was precisely this (to cause this kind of misunderstanding, haha).
