If you like Hobbies, then you may be interested to know that Today is "National Sewing Machine Day" 🇬🇧 This Topical British event is also listed on the National Calendar for the 13th June 2021.

Do the names: "Elias Howe" or "Isaac Singer" mean anything to you? If you’ve ever taken a Home Economics course at School or College then they should sound familiar. As these two gentlemen are credited with the invention of the modern sewing machine.

While the wheel, telephone, and personal computer get a lot of the glory for changing how we humans live. The sewing machine is somewhat of an unsung hero! Without it, however, we’d still be squinting to thread needles and stitching together our shirts and suits by hand.

Whether you want a simple set of curtains to block out the bright sun, or just aren’t satisfied by shopping off the rack, sewing machines are handy appliances that deserve accolades. Maybe it's time to get sewing again...

I was looking at sewing machines last year and not one not have a built in set of patterns that can automatically be sewed. Some were even programmed to sew automatically and others had fancy LCD displays. All in all totally different from my grandma sewing machine. !LUV and !PIZZA
