I'm glad to share the results of the top tribe authors in proof of brain tribe.

frame-1868498_1280.jpg

After founding this tool Hive Engine Tools created by @themarkymark. I decided to share this with the community for two reasons :

  1. To take an example from those who are doing well in the tribe.
  2. To be motivated to keep it up on that list myself.

This is the Tribe Rewards Curve in POB :

I think it will be good for the tribe to know about all that, to be aware about everything !

I'm also very glad that I hit the list even being on the tribe a bit more than a month !

I will share such report once a month to see how things are going on !

Great post and what are some good tips to get good PoB upvotes. I seem to struggle abit. As an early adopter I did well but all my votes have seemed to gone elsewhere.

Are there specific topic interests that do well?

Well general observation tells us that talking about how to improve POB and suggestions about POB , contests on POB does pretty well .

I think the topics are general in the tribe. As I always say, a well writen original post with some analysis will always fit here. You may take a look at the trending page and decide what to post. I also suggest as I suggested in the post to check those secrets I wrote about how to grow in any community, so you can impliment them here : Revealing my secret !. Just be active in the community, be in touch with others and you will do well. You may as well participate in contests and initiatives.

Thanks for the mention .

I didn't realize this until today . I feel happy to see this and it just tells that effort and consistency pays off .
I always put as much effort as I can to provide information to others through my posts and I will keep doing it as long as I can .
Data Analysis is my interest , I am just putting my skill to good use.

Have a good day ahead @clixmoney.

Good to see this report. I tried reading it twice but could not find how these numbers are derived?

  • Are these rewards monthly, yearly or lifetime?
  • Are these rewards denominated in hive or pob?

I just checked the tool designed by @amr008 to understand the pending rewards for him (http://hivelayers-stats.herokuapp.com/)
for the account of @amr008 and figured out that only unpaid rewards from various posts are 963 POB.
Just went few posts back on his posts and found his rewards are much more than 2611. Analysed the account of @interpretation mentioned above and figured out that his rewards are much higher than 1825. Hence I was curious as to how it is calculated?

You forget about comments maybe. Those also should be counted. Some comments bring even more rewards than posts. You can try that tool again, everything is copied from it when I created the report : https://hiveengine.usehive.com/

That would even increase the difference. I saw this tool but it has not defined about reward denomination (hive/pob). It has not mentioned duration.
If you manually count your rewards you would see that your posts alone have generated much more rewards than 996 POB

Well you are forgetting that my tool displays both curation as well as author rewards .

So if you are seeing more POB then you should consider only 45% of it since only 45% author rewards are sent to my wallet .

@amr008 I found your tool quite useful and logical too. However, the above tool if it is for lifetime, have created a bit of confusion.
Consider the example of @leprechaun. Is it believable that he generated only 1445 author rewards in lifetime. I just made a rough calculation and his posts in last one month have generated more than 2200 POB as rewards.
1455 rewards in life time is highly impossible fact. Same is the case with @interpretation. Lifetime author rewards of 1800 in his account is a bit confusing.
Same with @calumam generating just 949 POB in author rewards is again something not believable. These numbers are not giving the right picture.

Interesting. I will check it out once , I haven't tried it till now .

If i see the same differences , I will ask Marky about it and get it clarified.

Will get back to you about this tomorrow.

On the other hand when we use the hivelayers tool, it gives the exact information about the pending author rewards in all currencies when calculated manually too.
The tool by @themarkymark shows lots of discrepancies

A lot of the Hive Engine tools have bugs and report inaccurate information. I have noticed this behavior myself and I am confident mine are accurate.

I used the other aspects of your tool and they are cool, like the buy and sell average prices or the APY calculations.
I feel even the calculation of the total top author and their rewards may also be correct if the time and denominations are mentioned.
Additionally, it is not clear if these are net or gross, whether these include comment rewards too?
I made a few calculations manually and figured out that the author rewards could be much more than what is stated in this post. You can refer few accounts like @leprechaun, @calumam, @vempromundo and @interpretation. Their author rewards are much higher than those stated above in this post, hence felt it is necessary to point it out.

The time is arbitrary, because of the limitations of Hive Engine API I pull a certain amount of history without specific regard to dates. It does include comment rewards. While there is no guarantee how far back it is, all authors are using same period so it works out to the same.

I just can't justify the work involved to get more specific dates as it is just so slow.

Its good to see you in this discussion. I always wanted to understand the same from you. I track another analyst on hive @harpreetjanda who makes some interesting weekly statistics. According to his reports, last week @leprechaun seems to have made 2929 POB. Which is a far bigger amount than 1414 POB for lifetime. I agree with @coffeelovers on the calculation of these author rewards aspect. No offense to @amr008, he is a top contributor but @leprechaun and @calumam are far bigger accounts than the balances mentioned herein.

It isn't lifetime. Just a few pages of history, so whatever time that is, it is. It's not really important as it is mainly to show relative rewards for top authors. The Hive Engine API is too slow to do more specific without a database or the tool being even slower.

Well I will check later when I find time .

Marky is confident it is accurate so I think it is , let's see .

If that is the accurate calculation then some other parameters are missing. May be author rewards of @calumam for just last week are considered. I am not trying to challenge the usefulness of the tool but even without making calculations, logically also it is difficult to accept that @calumam and @leprechaun have earned only 945 and 1444 pob as rewards in their lifetime. Anyone who is active on pob platform can probably tell that these are not their numbers for lifetime.

some other parameters are missing.

Yeah maybe . I guess it is for a shorter period of time and not for lifetime .

Even I did a little bit of number crunching and figured out that these author rewards may not be accurate for the lifetime rewards. Even a cursery look at the accounts mentioned in this post show that the real author rewards are definitely different from the one mentioned in this post.

Hm I see , then the only plausible explanation I can see is that it is for past 10 days or 30 days and maybe not lifetime .

I think Marky will give you exact picture .

Are these rewards monthly, yearly or lifetime?

It is lifetime .

Are these rewards denominated in hive or pob?

It is POB .

Marky tool tells us how much I have gained till now , my tool tells you how much my pending rewards is for this week .

You're tool is really awesome. I'm exploring it now and enjoying it. https://hivelayers-stats.herokuapp.com/ There are so many details, but I wish to find there the cuation rewards. I'm interested that more !

I actually got a bit busy in real life ( due to COVID situation ) , that's why I haven't been able to add the curation part ( I was working on it ) .

I will definitely add it once I find time and get back to normal routine .
