Theme of the Week Contest: What you Like or Hate in your country?

Hello and welcome to my page. I am @daniky and this is my entry to the theme of the week's contest, an initiative of @vempromundo. Kindly move on with me as i reveal what i like or hate about my country, Nigeria.

Nigeria is said to be the "Giant of Africa," and known to be the most popular country in Africa as well. It is located within the West African region of the world.

Below are what i like about Nigeria;

1. Agriculture: The land of Nigeria is said to be fertile which supports the growth of any sort of crop plants and good for agricultural productions. It consists of annual, biennial and perennial plant. Trees in this region produces hardwoods used for furniture making which can be durable for decades and reason is due to the fact that Nigeria is located within the temperate region of the world.

2. Rainfall: Rainy season here is within the interval of 5-6months which is mostly within the month of march to August when it is at its prime. July is usually said to record the highest rainfall of the year and this makes the land of Nigeria more productive.

3. No Earthquake: There have been no record of any earthquake within the country for over centuries and this has been one of the best gift of nature to us so in this country.

4. Culture and traditions: Nigeria is one of the country with the best culture and traditions ever in the history of the world. Citizens are expected to be moral and uphold good cultures in high esteem. We embrace moral decadents and respect those in honour which include our leaders, parents, elders, friends, families and individuals as respect is expected to be reciprocal.

5. Great youths and citizens: Nigeria is characterized by great and intellectual youths who are capable of taking their country to the next level. The youths are fully energetic and proactive. We are not lazy but resourceful and diligent. We competes and win diverse competitions within the country and abode.

There is no country without its shortcomings and challenges. The issue of corruption has been based on the kind of leadership ruling the country. Contrary to the belief system of some countries of the world, Nigerian youths are creative, diligent and not corrupt, but the bad politicians ruling the country are the master-minders of these corruption and illicit practices. One thing i know is that no tenure comes to stay forever because when the time to handover the baton comes, the next tenure will definitely take over the lead.

Nigeria is a great and prosperous country, a land flowing with milk and honey. We love foreigners and do not discriminate. We're hospitable people as we embrace unity in diversity. Nigeria is said to be the economy capital of Africa but the bad politicians are milking the country's treasury, giving the country and its citizens a bad name.

That 10% of the populace are bad never means that the entire citizens are bad too. So you can now see what i detest or hate. It's not the country or citizens itself, but the bad governance. Every countries have its own challenges as well but differs in strength of the hit. This is just a temporary phase which will definitely leave in 2years to come for a better and more resourceful governance to take over for the betterment of the Nigerian citizens.
