How to Get Started With Any New Project

You have so many projects that you want to get started with. And sometimes you really do get off to a flying start. Just to start facing some challenges as soon as you think you have gained some momentum. At times these challenges can feel so daunting that you decide to rather just quit instead of continuing with your project.

I know I have fallen into that same trap many times myself. It is either a matter of urgency or the feeling of excitement that drives you to take off at full speed. But whether you are driven by urgency or whether it is pure excitement, it is very risky to be impatient. Yes, impatient.

The first thing you need to do before starting any new project is to determine for yourself that you will practice patience. Then, with patience, start slowly, one step at a time, one day at a time.

That is something I seriously have to focus on at the moment.

I am currently working on various projects which had me quite excited over the last couple of months.

These include mainly:

  • Creating content and engaging here on the blockchain.
  • Finances (involving both fiat currencies, but now especially cryptocurrencies too).
  • Taking care of our personal security.

I have recently started working on some projects, but I have to admit, I was having fun and often didn't have enough patience in the process. I was too eager to see those results. I would think I've got something under control and I can just as well jump to the next phase...just to mess things up...lol.

That needs to stop. Complete each step, each phase as planned before moving on to the next. Discipline and patience are the key elements. Step by step, without deviating from the plan.

Currently, during the last couple of days, we are facing a serious time of violence and uncertainty here in South Africa. That emphasizes the importance of what this blockchain can mean to me in the future.

There is nothing wrong with having fun with what you do. But there comes a time to get serious. It is time for me to start building here on the blockchain, not just because it is nice, but because it is important and necessary.

That means to follow the age-old concept of "plan your work and work your plan". It means that while I can still have fun and enjoy what I do, I have to be thorough.

Start small, start slow. Master what you start with and gradually expand, increase volume/turnover and create momentum.

There is no need to take the fun out of it, just slow down and become more patient. Then, instead of rushing towards some result, start enjoying the journey, focusing on one step at a time.

If you are getting frustrated with not finishing projects, or not getting the results you want, I hope this post will inspire you to slow down and join me on this journey of becoming more patient. To realize that you have to be able to do it slow before you can do it fast.

Starting any new project, start small and start slowly.

Enjoy the journey.
