Taking Action Is Important, But That's Not Where It Ends

"Take action", is what we hear all the time. And I fully agree.

You can have the most beautiful dream and the most ambitious goals, but if you don't take action, nothing will happen.

It is also said that you should write your dreams down. This will give substance to your dream. In a sense, you make a commitment to make that dream a reality and it becomes a goal.

After your dream has been put down into writing, the next step is to take action.

Yes, your dream has now become a goal. But, you can have a whole list of goals, unless you take action, nothing will happen.

Having a dream is nice and it can be fun to sometimes just sit down and think about it (do some daydreaming).

The first challenge though is to write it down, and going hand-in-hand with that is to then take action.

No action = No results.

You miss 100% of the shots you don't take. ~ Wayne Gretzky

So, You Took Action. What Now?

So, okay, that's nothing new to you. You know to write down your dreams, set goals, and create action plans.

But, let me ask this question before we go any further...

Are you also familiar with the feeling of having dozens of (written) goals stashed away somewhere in your drawer?

Goals that you were excited about some time ago? Goals that you even started working on?

Yet, you haven't actually achieved any of these goals and they ended up in your drawer as a reminder of what you would have liked to do.

That brings us to the next important thing after taking action.

The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity. ~ Amelia Earheart

Yes, the most difficult thing is the decision to act indeed. But after making that decision and even taking action, it is equally important to develop the tenacity to just keep on keeping on.

Our bigger (main) goals are normally not achievable within a week or even a month or two. So, this is where your plan of action comes in which basically just consists of smaller goals that are achievable within a smaller time frame.

This will serve the purpose of keeping you inspired and motivated while you are on your journey towards reaching your main goal.

Setting a goal such as wanting to earn $100 000,00 in a year is fine. But if you don't have smaller goals as part of your action plan, it can be easy to lose interest, and before you know it your goal has moved into the background and no longer enjoys the attention it deserves.

Let me give you an example of a short-term goal that can be part of an action plan that is moving you in the direction of achieving a bigger goal.

I am currently taking part in the #ctpcontent challenge. This challenge is to consistently create and publish content daily over a period of thirty days.

If you are interested in taking part in this project, you can get all the relevant information here.

If you have a goal such as becoming a blogger, writing your first book, or becoming an online influencer, this is a great short-term goal to take you in that direction.

You might even have a financial goal of some sort, like achieving some level of income by creating content online. Once again, this is an awesome goal/project to make part of your action plan to get you closer to your main goal.

It keeps your mind focused on the short-term goal of creating content for thirty days, which is achievable and easier to remain focused on until this goal is achieved. Yet, at the same time, it developed a new habit and it brought you that one step closer to achieving your main goal.

And if your main goal is of a financial nature, the best part of it is that if you are working here on this blockchain, it will even give your income potential a healthy boost already by creating content. Again, this will be something that is bringing you closer to your main goal.

Conclusion

So, after you have set your goals and committed to them by writing them down, the most difficult thing is to take action and actually do something.

But once you have set the ball rolling by taking action, the most important thing is to keep going. Don't stop. Don't get distracted. Keep on keeping on. And the easiest way to do that is by setting smaller goals that will bring you closer to your ultimate goal each time you achieve them. This will keep you focused and motivated until your ultimate goal is achieved.

I hope this post is helpful to you.

Breaking down your goals into little steps and processes that can incorporate into your daily life without having to ponder so much about it makes it much more easier to do.

For instance, i plan to stake 4000 pob before the end of the year. It seems ludicrous at first. However, when i break it down to staking 130 pob weekly, or 19 pob daily, it doesnt seem farfetched anymore.

This is just an example of how one can make their goals more doable.

Fantastic advice Jaco, we also need to keep on going and not stop once we have started to take action, and smaller goals as stepping stones towards our greater goals is a great way to stay motivated, thanks a lot for sharing and stay awesome.
