Who Said It Can't Be Done?

You have a dream. You have done your research.

You know that there are risks involved and you know it's not going to be easy. But you are determined to make it work. You have set realistic, achievable goals and you've got a plan of action of how to achieve your dream.

You feel well-prepared.

You decide to take action and you take that first step.

And then it happens...you get bombarded by people from all angles who can give you a hundred reasons or more why you wouldn't be able to make it...why it can't be done.

I can instantly think of at least two activities...no, actually three, that people will tell you how it can't be done. And they will even give you facts in the form of statistics, to prove their point.

• One of the first things that come to mind when I think of this, is trading. Whether Stocks, or Forex Trading, but people will start confronting you with statistics such as "Do you know that over 90% of people who try their hand at trading, actually fail?"...

Well, that means that at least 10% of the people who trade, actually do make money. Can it be, with all your planning and preparation, that you just might turn out to be one of that 10%? How would you know if you don't try?

And with a proper strategy and good, responsible money management, if you don't make it, you can at least give it a go. If it's not for you, you can get out before you start losing money.

• The second one is if you show any interest in cryptocurrencies. We even have an advertisement on South African television of a local bank advertising their investments... They show these two couples meeting on a bowling green. The first guy then asks the other why he is dressed so smartly. The second guy then starts bragging about how he can afford to dress that way due to all his smart investments with this particular bank. It then comes out that the first guy has now already lost everything for a second time...first, with some well-known scam we had here in South Africa some time ago, and now a second time...you know...with this crypto thing!

Yes, believe it. Don't touch this "crypto" thing... you will lose everything!

Well, where on earth did these people come from who have become millionaires with crypto? Why are there huge companies and organizations today, who invest millions of dollars in Bitcoin?

I am not talking about people who FOMO in on impulses...

You have done your homework. You are looking at the bigger picture, over the long term...

• The third thing that pops into my mind instantly is writing...or creating content for a living. And then you hear it... Do you know how few people are actually making a living from their writing? Do you know how creative you have to be? How are you going to come up with fresh content every day? Where will you get all your ideas from? It's okay if you just want to make it a hobby haha...but to make a living from it? You must be crazy!

Well, once again...you've said it yourself, there actually are people who do make a living from their writing...

True, there may be many people who dream about making a living from their writing, but they aren't. The real question is... Are they really putting in the effort? It's one thing to dream about something...it's something totally different to actually do it.

But, again, you have done your homework. You know what it will take and you are willing to put in the work. You are willing to put in the time. You know it's not going to happen overnight...and that is why you've got a 5-year plan!

Conclusion

So, who said it can't be done? Have you tried yet? Have anyone of those "doom-prophets" tried yet?
