Fat paycheck? Fancy dress? And you are still frustrated... What a world!

Did you know? A lot of people are frustrated about their job even when it's paying their bills.

This is the time where everything goes and everything is accepted as a job whether it's in alignment with our career objective or not. The thing is, there are bills to be paid and the only way to pay those bills is by being economically active so, why not? People go all out in search of a job. They forward their applications to the hiring team of any organisation that displays vacancy update and they line up for interviews. By the end of the day, they cut a deal and get started on a job. Nice!

What we know about these workers is that they dress smartly to their workplace and they spend long hours per day on the job. Some also get awards as employee of the month or employee of the year depending on the organization. Someone in the labour market would look at all these and ask, God when will it be my turn? It's a question that a lot of people ask themselves including those that are working in lowly ranked sectors.

Before you jump to a conclusion, let me tell you the other side of the story

The other side of the story is that whenever you meet these workers on the job, a whole lot of them look dejected and frustrated. Most of them may be preparing for work as early as 5 a.m but their mind is already filled with thoughts of how they would be running back home.

This is how things are in many institutions here. The one l know too well is about our bank workers. They seem to be the most frustrated about their job. Whenever l see them being so reluctantly about remitting customers account or processing withdrawal request, the thing that comes to my mind is that it's unfair. How can they maintain that attitude at work despite the fat paycheck and fancy dress? -Trust me, as of then, l didn't know any better.

What about the civil servants? Their level of complacency is second to none. They won't bid an eyelid about people's enquires and they can go as far as shamelessly asking for bribe to do a job which they are originally meant to do. This is exactly what happens whenever you go to the local government offices to get an authentication stamp on your document. Their attitude to work is a shameful sight to behold.

I dare you to ask these people about how much they love their job;

Just don't be surprised to know that many of them would whine about how much they hate what they are doing as a job and they would give you a bunch of reasons for that. It could be the working condition, their co-workers, the clients they deal with, their Boss, or just the employee himself. Sometimes, people just can't fit into a job and there is no way to wrap their head around it.

This is a problem facing majority of the working people out there.

But then, the irony of this is that most of these people will end up working in that dreaded office space until retirement. What a world!

Lol, it makes me remember a situation I just encountered yesterday. One of those civil servants charging me for what they were not even supposed to in the first place.
And the funny truth about this is that people who are not in that position, dream all day and wish they were while those that are there, wish they weren't because most of them their work or jobs is a living hell.
So in a way, some are still unsatisfied, more sadly, this continues for a lifetime for most of them.

Working in lagos is the most frustrating place, terrible conditions, harsh bosses, unappreciative of your effort irrespective of how much you actually give in. I use to work a job in 2016 and I was paid 10k monthly, I could barely save a dime but I was just doing the job because unemployment would have been worse. Sometimes we need both the money and the passion when working a job in other to find true fufilment.

It actually is true. My sister is an example! She is being paid well for her job but she complains a lot about it. When I ask her why, she would always tell me I don't understand but from this I think I really understand now. When she gets back home today I will tell how how much I understand. I'm glad I came across this today.
