I personally would not be interested as I never rent cards. That's besides the point, though. I still think it would a good idea!

Thanks for the feed-back. It's always better to manage with our own cards :-)

While I feel that there is nothing wrong for players to cancel rentals, it is indeed an issue for players who need to watch for last minute cancellations, especially when it could be during hours that they are sleeping. So I think long term rentals are beneficial and it would benefit smaller players like me. Keen to know more about how this works!

Before Splinterlands introduced the new renting feature, in the liotes shop it was possible to rent certain cards for 13 weeks. People paid in our LEN token. We have a collection of cards in Liotes to choose from. After payment, the card is delegated to you until the 13 weeks are over. It's simple and gives renters a long term perspective.

Thanks, how do we obtain LEN tokens?

There are several ways to get LEN tokens:

  • You can delegate Hive Power to @liotes.voter and you will get daily dividens in LEN tokens.
  • You can purchase LEN tokens on tribaldex
  • You can buy LENM miner tokens and stake them to get regular LEN payments
  • You can stake LEN with LENM in our Diesel Pool to get dividends in LEN and other tokens

I hope I didn't forget anything :-)

P.S: For the moment it's not possible to use LEN in the shop but we want to put it back if possible.

I think it is a great idea to place cards in the shop for rental. This would reduce the risk that is associated with the end of season pull backs and would help the players make longer term plans.

However I have getting real close to the 15k collection power level so may not need to rent any cards in the near future until I get closer to the next level Silver II so I do not think that I would use it very often unless it was to try out new cards that I currently do not have in my card deck. Take care.

Thanks a lot for the feed-back! I believe it could be used to keep the collection power high and also to use some powerful summoners.

I think adding rentals back to the market would be a great idea. There is a definite demand for dependable long-term rentals. !LUV

Thanks for your answer. I believe that many players would like to be able to plan in the long run and not always renew their rental contracts when season is getting towards the end.

So, since I don't play Splinterlands, I don't care. 😎
But, for the community, for LEN token use case, for the Liotes store (which is not exactly full of offers at the moment), and for those who play the game, it's definitely fine.

Yes the store is pitifully empty at the moment. The first step is to reinstall payments with LEN and then to fill the store. SL Rentals could be a first step.

I have a pretty big collection and have never rented a card on my main gaming account. So in my case, no. But I'm sure others might be interested.

On the rentals market in general, I'd actually prefer to rent out on the longer term and without micromanaging the cards depending on the evolution of the market. But it's obvious the market has at least two phases, and when most people do that, it's simply foolish not to take advantage of the EOS price pumps.

I think it's a nightmare if you have to rent your cards to reach enough CP at the end of the season. It's possible that the plug is pulled a couple of hours before EOS. So maybe it would be easier for people to rent long time at an average rate.

I believe possibility of entering longer term contracts will be added to Splinterlands at the next rental system revision, whenever it will be. Until then, Liotes shop could provide an alternative.

It seems to me a good idea to re-introduce rents but I would go one step further. I would create winning packages with power specific to each level and rent them seasonally. Well it's just a crazy idea.

Thanks for your idea. That could be something to think about!

This is a great idea.

In my opinion, the number one thing that Splinterlands needs right now is a way for newer players to get a decent experience from day 1. I think that offering splinters maxed out in a specific league and card type (e.g. chaos legion earth to bronze level) for a pre-set seasonal or monthly fee would go a long way towards helping new players come on board. I am actually kicking around the idea of buying some sets of cards and trying to set this up at a small scale to see how much interest there is. @achim03, Let me know if you'd be interested in potentially partnering using the Liotes Shop as a front-end for this endeavor. I'm thinking one set of each splinter to Bronze level max, including summoners but not including legendaries (which can be rented separately) to start.

I agree that it would make things much simpler for newbies to get started if they didn't need to worry about which cards to have and about renewing the rentals. I believe that renting cards for a fixed price would go a big way for many. They could be rented per splinter and per level. For example: lvl 2 summoner with the according developed cards of the same splinter for that level.

By having such a paket players could with one transaction rent for a fixed amount of time and be sure that they wouldn't lose the rental at EOS. We definitely have to think about it :-)

Yes and no. Yes, because it could make more funds for liotes and someone probably needs those cards. No, because I don't need it now, No time to play... too many things to do. 🤣
Special rents will attract someone to Liotes project too ><

I believe it could be interesting to plug into the SL community and promote liotes like that.

I think it's a good idea, if you have the extra cards and want to try to increase the LEN use cases again. I might consider using it, as I occasionally rent a card or two if I get stuck with a daily that's a pain.

Thanks for your feed-back. I believe it would be positive for LEN in general as an additional use case.

I think that more offer is always better and also that way Len has more uses.
