My Three (3) Months Experience on Hive: The Good and Bad

IMG_20200126_132551_263.jpg

The Beginning

I joined hive in July 2021 through an encouragement from a friends @ekotmodemy and @uyobong. With their encouragement I posted my first actifit which was about 10,000 daily activity. I was so joyous to see that I could meet up to 10k actifit. Suddenly, I didn't make any Post for the next two months. Although, July was when I got married to my beautiful wife.

I started joining communities like Proofofbrain, Leofinance, OCD, Cross Culture, Agricultural Mindset, Sportstalk, and many others. Also, I started following friends like @uyobong @ekotmodemy @neoxian @peckpeace @kenechukwu and many more.

The Bad Experience
In the process of engaging communities and friends, I erroneously started down voting some persons. This I continued for a while until I was notified by @kenechukwu who helped me to know the right thing to do. It was my ignorance that led to that. Sorry to those that were victims of my ignorance. But it still remain part of my experience on hive.

The Good Experience
Hive and lovers of hive in the blockchain has exposed me to another realm of engaging my brain and the Hive communities. This has led me in writing things that have been appreciated by lovers of hive. The daily earnings are other aspects of my experience. When your post is upvoted, there's this boost it brings to you and the motivation pours you too write more meaningful post.

My Advice to Hive
Yes you are doing a great job by creating a platform for people to engage themselves meaningfully, but new comer's on hive suffer a lot before understanding how hive works. My advice is that hive should create a training platform for the new comer's in order to boost their interest on the platform. Long live Hive
Long live Hive communities
Long live Hive lovers

This post might not make sense to some but people with same experience can understand how painful it is to join a group without the full knowledge.

Why was the down voting "erroneous"? Did you not intend to down vote or did you not know what it meant?

The intention was to upvote the post but never knew it was down voting. That's why I said it was erroneous.

People, myself included, have preconceived ideas that make us write interfaces which can be non intuitive for some without realizing it.

Does the downvote symbol look like something positive somehow?

Critically speaking, it depends on your perspective per time. If the post is worth upvotes then it should not be down voted. That's what I think.

No, my question would have been better stated as "did the '(v)' look like a positive vote to you?" If so, why? I am curious.
