RE: What is quality content?

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

Confusion:

At first, I drew a blank. I was not certain I could define a quality post. The quality of a post is subjective, but when you consider rewarding that post with some value, a definition became warranted. So, I find my reasoning to be similar to many others in this comment section.

Subjective Criteria:

There has to be some standardization across the board regarding a post's quality, or the rewards system doesn't make sense. A consequence of this would be a lack of engagement and value in the system.

  1. Good grammar and writing structure
  2. No plagiarism
  3. Personalized content

Bases

Items #1 & 2 should be self-explanatory. No one likes it when an author copies/pastes someone else's work as their own. I think we can all agree on this point. Additionally, it serves as a good foundation for everything else that's judged. If the reader can understand a presented topic, they can ascribe some baseline value to the post.

Personalized content is what drives me to reward. Do you have a different take on a topic discussed frequently? Can you report on a topic and then deliver your message?

I always have some bells inside my head that are saying: "Don't judge others!" And I know that it's not a good thing to do, especially not in a way that some people are doing, but we are doing that a lot of times during the day... Maybe not judging people, but judging things, or maybe better said, "evaluating" them...

The same goes for the posts here on Hive... And it is a very subjective thing, but most of the comments here have pointed out the same fact that is probably the most important... Like you said too, personalized content, different approach to the topic, and YOUR view about it...

Thanks for taking part in this discussion!

You're very welcome! Thank you for inspiring the conversation. I enjoy the curation though, I admit, it gets daunting at times. I find enjoyment through engagement. One day I hope to make profit from it too!

I'll add to the contents of a quality post given recent conversations I had. There's a lot of angry posts out there for one reason or another. I mean, people need to vent, right? Higher quality posts should delve into the reasoning for the anger.

Did a DV make you mad? Let's talk about it. Is it against someone in particular? Well, why do you think they downvoted you, and is it for a behavior that you or they could change?

Talk about the reasons for your posting rather than just complain and ridicule. If it's a legitimate and well-communicated concern perhaps the community and work to mitigate it.
