Are you willing to use your POB stake to remove Rewards from Posts if Needed?

Previously I posted about how I am trying to spread votes across different users and my main reason for this is to try and get people to engage in the POB community and build their stake. I know that some will not stake and will dump their tokens, but with only 21 million total tokens available in total, POB will become more and more difficult to obtain. Now is the best time to gain a foothold and get the maximum return for investment whether that be purchasing tokens or through Proof of Brain and posting.

One of my biggest concerns is always the Trending page on any Proof of Brain token. That is where I usually go to see how many tokens the biggest payouts are and who is receiving these payouts. During my earlier days on Steem I always similar authors hitting the Trending page and then it became easy to pay for votes to get onto the Trending page. If you go and look at the Steem trending page now (don't) you will see it has denigrated into a cesspool of junk, more than it has ever been.

Now when I look at the Trending page on POB, I don't see a cesspool of junk, but authors creating worthwhile content that they have spent significant amounts of time developing. My only concern, though I acknowledge that it is still relatively early days yet, is that a number of authors feature on the trending page regularly and numerous times. Now that is not a real concern when the content is fantastic and the support from the community is there for them. What I fear it can do is concern new users to the community if the same users feature and it appears that authors and larger stakeholders are circle-jerking.

I don't believe there is any circle-jerking really happening on POB at the moment. Sure the same authors creating relevant content are receiving big upvotes regularly but they are creating good content and deserve the votes. Whales from HIVE and LEO are jumping feet first into POB as well and building their stakes which is encouraging and I know that these users will use their stake to keep content relevant and rewards proportional, as will I. I will keep staking POB and will use my stake to reduce rewards to posts if I felt that jerking was occurring and shitty content was receiving big payouts.

I hope other larger stakeholders would also be willing to use their stake to remove rewards from posts if the rewards were not warranted. I know this is a tricky thing but it will be what makes POB standout from the other tribes if we are willing to keep highly-rewarded content original and of high quality.

Keep POBbing and thanks for reading.

One of the main reasons for the regular authors on trending/hot is due to an autovote from @richardcrill at 75-100% of his vote weight. This typically rockets these posts up the listings and further boosts them up trending if they're followed by a vote from any of the other whales.

I'm on that list of authors with the autovote and I try to keep up the quality of my posts to warrant the positions, even though I know that my posts are not a scratch on some others that I'm seeing. I'll swallow that doubt and use the influence to help the platform in other ways.

I know that @proofofbrainio does a great job of curating, but there is only so much brainpower in the day and the responsibility and pressure to curate every post here must be rough (it's physically impossible to do quality curation on every post every day). I can understand completely if some days the energy isn't there.

Further delegations to those who are manually curating frequently will help spread the vote weight but there will still be the autovote factor and the responsibility of the whales for what is on trending etc.

I'm not fresh on ideas for alternatives to a trending page but I do think the 'Hot' page is worthwhile and could receive some upgrades.

Ok makes sense then. Some holders autovote for returns only. That is one downfall of the system too. But I understand not everyone has the time to curate each and everyday.

If necessary, yes, totally. However, at the moment, I haven't found a balance for that. I believe that over time we will have greater freedom to exercise this function.

Of course, my vote is small, but by uniting all of us, the change can be made.
