Morning Walk & Some Finds

avatar

And it's Friday once again, whew! Days have really grown wings they fly! Felt yesterday was just Monday. Nah, kidding! That's just me quite exaggerating.πŸ˜… It's to say time passes by quickly, mostly because we enjoy life, yeah?

Anyhow, I took advantage of the gorgeous day and had a short walk in our neighborhood little place. It's amusing that the property is pretty small yet I don't always get to see what's going on in some parts of it because I'm usually cooped up in my wee corner unless I convince myself to go out.😊

Glad to have done just that after coffee this morning.

"Have you noticed any mushroom elsewhere?" I asked the husband thinking about contributing to the FungiFriday challenge by @ewkaw. He said he saw one down the boundary where a large log was lying down.

"Perfect for you to go take a walk!" he teased. Initially thought I'd go check it out but changed my mind and went to the northside instead and enjoyed some sunshine penetrating through the branches of the trees.

Enjoyed my time there and even had a little fun with my twin.😁

But actually, prior to basking under that sunshine, I took a little detour along the storage with an intention to find mushrooms on the tomato poles and I wasn't disappointed. Discovered these dry ones which Google Lens identified as Thin-Walled Maze Polypore or Blushing Bracket. Nice name, huh?

And also some Turkey Tails which had grown in rather odd shapes. The next two were last month's captures.

And some hairy bracket too which have already dried up and I guess they'd break when touched, or maybe not!

It's the dry season here, hence most of the fungi have also dried up. No tiny ones even along the garden walls. But comes the wet season and they will surely be sprouting once again.

Last but not the least for this collection, an ear-like polypore which was clinging onto a pine log at the backyard. Photos taken on the 11th of February. I bet by this time, it's already dry and hard.

Well, that has been my little adventure in the morning. I was chuffed on that walk to say the least, mesmerized too especially when I saw this tiny green sprouting in one of the trunks of the good ole bushes.

And life shall go on as it had been...❀️

Cheers to a wonderful Friday!

Photos are my own. 24032023/11:05ph

Smile... laugh often... love more... be happy and grateful always!

Mushrooms are not very common near our living area. I would say that our weather doesn't support the growth of Mushrooms. But I have seen Turkey Tails growing in pine tree logs. So, that's the only mushroom I know. I heard that it is good for healing cancer and people use it for cancer treatment.

That's true, weather has something to do with the growth of organisms. We do not have a lot of fungi here too and they are mostly inedible ones.

I heard that it is good for healing cancer and people use it for cancer treatment.

That is good. I had no idea Turkey Tails can be used as a treatment so thank you for sharing.

Yeah if you google, you can find some information about that. Also, there is this Documentary called "Fantastic Fungi" that gives amazing information about Fungi and also speaks about Turkey Tail towards the end.
