traffic jam is so nerve-wracking

Traffic jam a large number of vehicles close together and unable to move or moving very slowly-Cambridge English Dictionary

Traffic jam not only hinders your movement but also affects your mental health. Living in a big city is sure exciting but like everything else, there are some disadvantages to living in a big city.

Source

As a person living in a big city, Lagos to be precise, the home to all crazy traffics in the world I have had my share of traffic jam but a major event to date still stand as the worst experience I have so far with traffic jam

Source

The day started like any other day, better than most days I would say. I was granted the afternoon off and left the office around 2 pm. I had a schedule plan for that day, the things I needed to do once I got home. From my office to my apartment shouldn't take me more than 1 hour lesser even. I took an Uber(my worst mistake) thinking I was going to get home early. When we got to the Obalende bridge, we met a traffic jam. I was thinking that the traffic was not going to be that long. But I was in for a shock, 30 mins turn into 1 hour then 2 hours. I was in that traffic for more than 4 hours. It was 6 pm and I was stuck in traffic inside Uber, we were moving at snail's speed, all through this time my mind was calculating my charges. On norms, the trip should cost $9 but it was evident I will be paying more than that, the Uber was counting (why was it even counting) oblivious to my pain.

The traffic eases up around 6:30 pm, only for me to get to Ikeja to meet another fresh traffic.

Source

I was already boiling inside, I was mentally unstable, and I was hungry. I left Ikeja around 8:30 pm and got home around 10 pm that day. I paid the Uber man $40 for a trip that was supposed to be worth $9, I was mentally drained.

I have never witnessed such horror of traffic in my life, it was crazy. I was frustrated with the money I should have used for about 5 trips of Uber I used it only on one trip, i was dying inside. It was a terrible day for me

What a bad experience you had, especially with the Uber, I have heard someone say the hours one uses In lagos traffic, somebody use it to travel to and fro their village. 😃 how funny it sounds but it's true.

Surely that most frustrating thing is traffic jam and traffic jam is like the sea of vehicles that you have to dive into.
Thanks for sharing with us ☺️.

Hi @geelocks, I'm glad you shared this on DreemPort.

Your post is undergoing screening on our site, but I noticed that the images are not correctly sourced. The URL you added are not showing the site where the image was taken from.

Here is an example of the proper way to do it 👈

This shows the name of the site and the name of the author.

If you need free images, feel free to get there from

Pixabay.com
Pexels.com
Unsplash.com
Canva.

When images are from these places, source them like the sample I showed above and the post will freely get a pass in DreemPort.

You can edit this post and replace the images with free ones from the above site so that it will be accepted in DreemPort.

When I joined dreemport, whenever I try pasting the image link directly from pexels.com on image URL on dreemport, it keeps getting erased. So I went to dreemport discord and saw someone asked the same question and a dreemer said to use the image link that appear after the image was uploaded on our post and if you check the back part of the image URL you would see the source and the owner.

Each image I used was from pexels.com and was free to download.

Thank you for @kenechukwu97 for reaching out to me, I hope this clarifies the issue.

Okay. Lemme clarify it. The image url you attached to DreemPort while submitting your post on the site is not a problem. You did it correctly.

But, the image sourcing attached to your post on the blockchain is a different thing altogether. It has to be like the sample I showed above. That's how we can see the website it's taken from to know if it's free to use and also see the original photographer

So, your submission to the site is okay, but the one that needs adjustment is the way images were sourced on the post.

Since you said they are from a free site, they will be given a pass. But in your subsequent submission, the image source used on the post should be something like this 👇

Chai...I am so sorry about this.
This our Lagos is crazy when it comes to traffic. Atimes I wonder if it's half of the population in Nigeria that stays in Lagos 😂😂...both mainland and island suffers this mess.

My own story is bad too
I hope for a better Lagos my friend 👍

Oh dear!! That was a really terrible experience if you ask me. Are you trying to say the ulber charges you per the time you spent in his vehicle? Or what?

Dreemport brought me here.

Yes it was @hopestylist. Initially it was just a price but due to the traffic jam, i guess the fee was calculated based on distance travel and other things included.

Hmm, that's somehow sha, it's no bodies fault that there's a traffic so why do anyone has to pay? If anyone is to pay it should have been the driver himself but I don't really know what really happened so I will let it slide 😁.

I feel your pain. It took me 8 hrs to drive 240 miles today, lots of static traffic.
at least I wasn't watching a meter tick up the cost.

Traffic will always be a big problem in big cities. Since I moved to the interior of the country, I never knew what this meant and curiously, the inhabitants of here complained if they spent more than 10 minutes in a traffic jam, something unthinkable in the big city. Excellent friend.

As a Londoner, I have experienced my fair share of traffic, and it's always worse when there's no way of getting out of it. Mind you, if I was sitting in a taxi (uber or otherwise), I think I'd eventually make the decision to get out and walk. Now, that may not have been a choice you had but for a Londoner, there's always the possibility of using the London Underground if walking isn't viable. Thankfully.

But, for all that, you have my sympathy. Having a free afternoon ruined is horrible! 💛

Uber men are always happy with the traffic situation. I'm sure the man must be giggling within. 40$ is a lot of money mehn. I remembered Ikeja to be one of the craziest places. I lived around ogba once and taking Ikeja was always a nightmare. Such a sad experience.
