I am Alive: A Very Random Thought

Some thought inspired by animals

Hello there! I was supposed to publish an #iamalivechallenge vlog, but 3speak apparently has issues and my video didn't appear here on hive. It is at 3speak.online, if you are interested to see it - I Am Alive Challenge | Some Thoughts Inspired by Animals [June 15,2020].

In the video, I shared some of my thoughts inspired by our cat, "Kulet" (translates as "naughty"), and some birds who always come to our villa.

Kulet, enjoying the shade and the cool soil in our Mini garden.

These birds and our cat have a very special relationship, because they defend her whenever a stray black cat comes to our villa to fight with her. These birds make loud noises and shoo the cat away.

Yesterday, however was different. It was afternoon, when we heard the birds making loud noises again but the black cat was not there. They kept on for a few minutes before I decided to go out and check what was happening.

See, this bird was clearly unhappy. The sound they were making were really loud too!

Upon checking what was happening, I found that another bird was lying helplessly, obviously injured, feet up,on the ground.

The bird was alive, but obviously hurt.

Our cat was standing next to the injured bird, and the other birds were agitated.

The big question is, DID KULET HURT THE BIRD OR NOT?

Taking sides or making an opinion

With lots of things happening around us, this simple incident shows how hard it can be to take sides or even generalize about something we don't have full knowledge about.

Maybe the bird was already hurt (from too much heat, or by another cat) and our cat was just trying to check on it (since they are "friends", apparently).

Or

Maybe our cat was really the one who snatched the poor birdie.

I chose to give the cat the benefit of the doubt since I did not see the whole incident and obviously, the animals can't tell me what happened.

The same way, in our daily interactions, it is wise to learn the different sides of the story or the incidents that led to it, before taking sides or drawing a conclusion.

I hope you find time to watch the video (I have no idea if it will still publish here on hive as it's been 24h - - hello, @threespeak?!) and share your thoughts about my realizations from this incident.

Until next time! Ciao!

Very welcome back to the #IAmAliveChallenge @arrliinn, and I also watched the video, 3speak does have major issues right now, and interesting to see that behaviour, from the sounds and look it was some kind of Crow bird, and it was still alive which is why they where screaming, had it been confirmed dead by the other birds they would have been completely quiet after the initial screaming before they had confirmed it, the silence is a burial ceremony that they practice, all Crow birds of the same type gather in a nearby tree or something similar, and they stay there silent for quite a while, then they all take off at the same time and also in silence, and that marks the end of their burial ceremony, interesting birds really, thanks a lot for sharing, and stay safe, awesome and alive.

Ohh, I didn't know about that nature of crows. They freak me out. 😅 I remember before, there was one that all of a sudden appeares by my office window, I almost fainted. Haha.

Upon searching, I found that these birds are common myna, which are invasive birds that take over other birds' nests. 🤷‍♀️ In captivity, these birds can reproduce even human sounds (explains the loud voice/other way around). There's a lot of them here in the GCC region. They apparently came from South Asia, India in particular.

I am happy to finally make another #iamalivechallenge post, though the video had some hiccups. Haha. Hope to make more.

Take care and enjoy your day!

Hello dear friend @arrliinn, how are you?
I'm sorry about your video, I also have one caught since yesterday.
Animals are very intelligent, they know what they do and when things are not right, if it is a cat that never attacks other animals, it certainly was not him. I think it had nothing to do, cats do not leave their prey alive
I appreciate you showing us this story
I wish you a great day

Thanks for coming over @jlufer! I really found the story behind the story behind video amusing albeit shallow to some 😅. Shame 3speak is acting up, so I had to just blog it to get it out here on hive.

Honestly, I also think our cat didn't do it. 😻🐱

Enjoy your day!

Enjoyed your video! Those are some angry birds for sure. They aren't that big but they make up for it with their voices. Your kitty is very cute. If only they could talk and tell you what was going on.

Ohh, thanks for checking the video out. Yup, they are too loud that was why I could not help but check out what was happening. My husband wanted me to help the injured bird, but I said I won't pick it up coz the other birds might swarm at me. Haha

Hi, I'm glad to know you well, I don't think the cat would hurt him because if he was only around, I have a cat, it's beautiful, it's called Luna, and if she's evil, she eats everything that moves.

That's what I realized. If it really wanted to hurt the bird, it would have when it was lying helpless.

Thanks for passing by. And have a great day @marleyn! 😊
