Can I ask you a question? - #IAmAliveChallenge - Day 67 - #HiveIsAlive 3 0.08 I Am Alive Challenge

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

If you could post whatever and whenever you really wanted, what would you post on Hive?

It seems like easy question with an easy answer. But is it?

Great question.. I'd probably have 1) a daily series giving my thoughts on any given thing that popped up during my day.. 2) a photography /videography series (combined with travel when possible .. And 3) A entrepreneurial/marketing /self development series. How about you?

About 1).. I definitely feel that @flaxz's I Am Alive Challenge is the perfect fit for that one. You can read more about it here > https://peakd.com/hive-155221/@flaxz/i-am-alive-challenge-the-guide

  1. and 3) seem like bi-weekly projects, unless you want to go Casey Neistat / Gary Vee on us XD...

I think I want to have a little more fun. More of a personal vibe. So, I will experiment a bit over the next month.

That is an interesting question... As I'm not an IG type of person, I would probably do the same as I'm doing at the moment... :) It sounds weird, but I really enjoy in sharing my experiences from real-life with others and sharing some gaming tips on my other account (@cryptofiloz)...

And regarding the times of publishing, that would also keep the same, as I do like to bring valuet through posts, and I think that it will not be possible to do more often than 1-2 posts per day...

But, I suppose that I'm a bit different... lol... 🤣

Hey Zoltan, what IG mean?

And I think you're right- less is more- quality over quantity.

Also I like that you're different. Me too. We need more unique peoples in the world who like to think out side the box...just like Jean-Luc 😀

Jean-Luc answered your question... It's Instagram...

Also, I like the uniqueness of this platform... Yes, it has its flaws, but it's different, and that makes it special...

And being different is cool... lol...

I think compared to some of us, you have really embraced the Hive posting style Zoltan. Never change a winning formula.

I don't think you are that different, there are several people who have figured it out for themselves. But a lot of us are still searching. I think the expectation is too much that Hive has to be a place for blogging and vlogging. So I'm really interested in seeing how dapps like @dbuzz will be adapted. I think it is good, and it will bring more diversity to the Hive ecosystem.

Oh, I'm totally for "MORE"... and it is more than blogging and vlogging, and I keep repeating that here, and occasionally on Twitter...

Also, would like to see more dApps where we can connect more with each other... like Discord for Hive, or something like that... And I do take a side of @nathanmars on this, as I try to be less on Discord/Telegram, and embrace communication here on Hive more...

We really need a chat application for Hive.
I really loved Partiko for that. Maybe @dapplr will surprise us with a chat function in the near future.

I think that they said that they will add a chat function... So, it's just a matter of time... ;)

Great question

I post anywhere between 4 and 8 posts a day
I post the wheels where poeple can win, I also use the 5 minute Freewrite because it inspires me to flow, I also post about motivation as well as hints nad tips,
I also engage in a photography community where I post photographs that I have taken.

I have always been about information sharing and have been writing Newsletters for over 25 years for various different organisations. I love inofrmation sharing I love experience sharing and I love sharing

Thanks for sharing Russ!

I think your writing experience does help a lot. It allows you to create quality posts quicker because you have experience with getting the message across through words. And this really is a writing platform from a tradition standpoint. I'm wondering if it has to be. And if I'm missing certain content on my newsfeed. I do sometimes miss a little personality in posts, maybe you see it more, because you also actively engage more.

But things like that you have been writing newsletters for over 25 years is pretty cool to hear. So, now I want to know. When did people really start using email marketing software? What was the 'cool' (opinions differ on this) thing before Mailchimp came along. Was Aweber really the email tool in the past? I have a lot of questions 🤣

I do Video Posts as well because I enjoy the personal touch, was daily, but the past two weeks havent done one, Was doing live daily shows every day for a few years , a few years back.

Technology changes

LoL, when I first started doing email newsletters etc, it was a text based list of email addressees that I used to curt and paste into the BCC fields of manually craeted emails, all text based - I then had a bulk email program that I would use untill bulk email programs got marked as suss. I would the create a HTML newsletter, post online and then send out an email with the link. then came along things like Mailchimp etc, which in their early days were quite basic,

HTML was good due to being able to create templates etc and now mailing programs allow for that level of creativity.
I currently use Traffice Wave for my lists and always make sure that my subscribers know that this is a Newsletter that they can subscribe to.

My newsletter in the past have usually been very specific niche's - I was mainly Arts Based in the early days and shared all things arts - these days my list is more marketing orientatetd, I must get back into a Frivolous prooduction of information sharing , ebcause I know their is an interest.

With My last arts Based Newsletter, I had approx 45,000 Subscribers (it was an organisation) and had an open rate of approx 85% with click throughs of 98% Outstanding results

A 85% Open Rate... that's pretty awesome! Especially when you're talking about 45k subs.

I reinvested in email marketing in 2017 when one email accounted for 25% of our total ticket sales for our conference. So it definitely is still very effective.

Cut and paste to bcc. 😂 The good ol' days 😂

Good question.
So many possible answers- which is the real one?
Probably the one that would be where my posts would be much deeper than they are now.

Blogs about far more significant and meaningful things than they are now. But then the question is, which community to post them into.

Each community has it's own belief/philosophy/requirement and not every blog topic fits every community and that's the big diff between here and FB. There, you put it up. It goes everywhere, to everyone- which is actually a good thing, because then you're not preaching to the converted so to speak.

Whereas here, you have to choose a community, so it's more targeted, therefore narrows the readership access.

Oooh and it also depends on the demographics of the users in each community too and how willing and proactive they are in about reading and curating. That's my perspective anyway.

I could post things into every community all day everyday- if I had the time, but then I'd be spending the entire day responding to comments- or would I.....DM..

So I think what I am doing now- the amount of posts is enough, but the time I can spend on here curating others and responding to comments is not enough, but then I do an a real life where I need to get things done- as you well know too, so it's a balance....

Great to see you alive and well @jeanlucsr, and you ask a really good question, the fact is that there are so much I actually want to post about, and not many of them small subjects either, the limiting factor is time, just plan ahead for what I need to post about in order to get closer to my goals, like the Hive Affiliates Community for example, both for IAAC and for Luke I needed to have a knowledgebase where I could send people for more information about Hive and about affiliate marketing, this took a long time to build, and it will continue to be expanded as we go, but with my own postings and with the help of others we now have over 60 posts and videos with guides and tutorials covering enough to actually act as a small knowledgebase, plus there are many more things I want to do, even adding more projects if time allows, anyways thanks for your question and stay safe, awesome and alive.

Funny you should say that, a few days ago I briefly touched on cult-like behavior in this IAAC post.

I would post exactly the content that I'm posting right now minus the contests/challenges. Those usually consist of a certain feeling or random thought or message I have that I need to write down or just want to share with other. I'd probably also post more about my gardening and cooking habits, which I'm planning on doing anyway when I have less thesis and more time.

my gardening and cooking habits

That is very much appreciated on Hive as well. You should check out @mattsanthonyit and @qurator. I think you mind find their content interesting.

Thanks! I just took a glance at @mattsanthonyit and followed. He has a good combination of cooking and gardening/farming content. An amateur like me could learn a thing or two from a farmer like him.

Already knew @qurator. Besides the content on their blog, they also do a good job of motivating people to create.

Will post more memes, unfortunately, I’m not funny enough to make new ones, and posting old ones will get me in trouble with hive watchers. I like stories, but haven’t been motivated for them for now. I like photography too, and that’s what I’m doing for now.

I feel you. I was thinking on how we can bypass the meme issue with hive watchers.
What if we decline payout for memes that aren't ours? Would you think they'd allow that? That would literally mean that we just post it for fun, with no intent of getting rewards, since it's not original content. Of course, if the bots can't distinguish, it could get you listed for plagiarism straight away.

We should probably ask @anyx or @themarkymark if that's a good or very terrible idea.

I don't think many people will have a problem with decline payouts. I am not a fan of flat out using someone else's work but the biggest issue for me is getting paid for other people's work.

Guess that wouldn’t be a problem them. Might give it a try

I am not sure I would do anything really different.I would add other types of posts and post more about my real feelings about things that might get me in trouble on mainstream social media.

Some of us (not me but some of us 😅) use a second Hive account for that 😂.

But maybe we can create a safe space for that.

Hello @jeanlucsr
For me it depends on my feelings.. I generally post about what is going in my life like if I had a travel then I post about it.. If I had clicked some photos of natural beauty I also post, and if I had some sort of thoughts going through my mind I also post this.
I don't post regularly on the same time because of my duties. So I post whenever I got the time and whatever is going in my life..

But I would like to post more consistently and about some specific directed topic. I am planning for this..

Thank you for your question. It remind me about my goal.

I feel you. Consistently posting on the same time can be quite the hassle.

It is a great goal. I've learned that posting you I Am Alive post daily on the same time is a great first step to built up the routine. So hopefully, you can find a time that fits with your duties. Good luck and do keep me posted!

It will depend on what audience i am trying to address.

Well, it would still be on Hive, but not just the IAAC Community, a little broader with a lot of different interest, so it would be the posts that you would love to make. (Which for some of us are still IAAC posts 😂)

What kind of photos do you like to take?

Have you participated in @old-guy-photos, @tattoodjay or @dswigle's photo contests?
If I remember correctly they run every Monday, Wednesday and Friday respectively.

@gvkanten, these might be of interest to you as well.
