If you were hit by the proverbial bus tomorrow...

▶️ Watch on 3Speak

If you were hit by the proverbial bus tomorrow, is there anyone who knows how to convert your crypto wealth to cash? Or, at a minimum, is there anyone who could figure out your crypto wealth?

If you are like a lot of us, you have multiple crypto accounts with several different tokens. Then on top of that, you may have some tokens staked, delegated or leased. These tokens have to be "freed up" before they can be converted which can take months.

You have a will with instructions on what to do with your assets but does that include your crypto? Do you have instructions prepared to tell them how to access your crypto? To access your crypto, they may need your keys, cell phone and email just to access your accounts.

So I am going to ask you one more time, "Are you prepared if you are hit by the proverbial bus tomorrow?"

That's a great question, @rcaine. I have been thinking about that recently and need to get it added to our estate planning. I have my keys on a flash drive and printed out. But the next step is explaining to my husband what they are and how they work.

Let's try to simplify things... If people want your money, they will find a way... 🤣 If you provide the username and keys...

Regarding exchanges, you SHOULD NOT keep your money there... as you don't have KEYS to your cryptocurrency there... Personally, I know 2-3 exchanges that have scammed their users in the last couple of years...

It seems easy to get cryptos for someone who is familiar with cryptos. All you have to do is to give your keys and the platform names. For someone who is not familiar with cryptos, you need to teach him/her step by step. And he/she will know what to do if anything happens.
