Prompt First Sentence: From a tower window in Nottingham Castle, two men stared down into the moonlit courtyard.

The taller of the two looked anxiously around, hoping to catch a glimpse of his beloved.

"Sire, you know it's bad luck to see your bride before the ceremony, don't you?" His dear friend as well as his brother-in-arms, Ignatius, reprimanded him lightly. Fenrir let it slide, he had known this man for most of his life.

"You dare make fun of me at a time like this? Let's see who's laughing once you're the one in my shoes." Fenrir had rumbled out a response. He tried to make it as a joke, but his giant stature seemed to always make everything he did look menacing.

Luckily, Ignatius having known him for so long, only let out a hearty chuckle and clapped his back, "Come on you brute, best not keep your blushing bride waiting."

Prompt 2
There is usually a picnic with dancing and singing.

And though Fenrir expected such an exuberant atmosphere, he was surprised to see the people all aflutter in panic.

Feeling a chill run down his spine, he grabbed the first servant he could and demanded an answer. The person paled and stuttered out a reply, "Your Highness! The Lady, she- the cliffs!"

Fenrir tensed and took off, not bothering to stop as Ignatius called out his name.

Prompt 3
her ear hurt

Everything hurt it seemed. She opened her eyes to utter darkness.

She squinted in the dark, the last thing she remembered was being in the carriage, and the cliffs. But before all that, a flash of green light that seemed to have made the horses run in a fright.

"Loki!" she gasped as she recognized the form starting to take shape in front of her, but there was someone else. Fenrir. Oh how she longed to be wrapped in his arms again, but she couldn't seem to move an inch in this blasted place.

"Blood sacrifices" she somehow heard Loki utter to her love. No! Fenrir couldn't have been thinking of going back to that kind of life! Unless she wasn't there to prevent him...

Tears pooled out of her eyes as she watched on in anguish, Fenrir looked barely alive, his deep russet eyes dull and unseeing.

She was losing him yet again, and it would probably take years, even centuries for them to find their way back to each other.

She just had to remember him when that day came.

Author's note: At present, I'm all for continuing past freewrites, if and when I find ones that fit. ^_^ Read about Clara & Fenrir by scrolling down under "Series."

The character of Fenrir is inspired by a Norse mythology character but by no means copied. It is a work of fiction, a by-product of imagination.
