Best trip of your life, 30 days #BloggingChallenge (Part 01)

Seguramente, podremos poco a poco volver a desplazarnos.

¡Buena Lectura!

Best trip of your life (Español)

Best trip of your life (English)

Thinking about the best trip of my life, made me remember several of the trips I have taken. It was a little difficult to decide on one of them because no matter how close or short it was I always had experiences and learnings. However, I finally selected a trip I took a few years ago in my beautiful country, Venezuela. I visited for the first time the Gran Sabana and the truth, I loved it. I was so in love with that place that I went back several more times, I will tell you why it was so important for me.

Sometimes travel is not only about getting to know places and people, but it also works to transform us. Travel is something I enjoy very much. That has changed a lot recently because of the pandemic condition we are experiencing. Now, we are focused on internal travel which is just as fascinating. Surely, we will gradually be able to move again. In the meantime, we have the possibility of remembering the journeys we have made, such as this one I am telling you about today, where I indicate why it was so important to me.

Good reading!

One day that seemed to be the same as all the others, I was in my office busy as usual, the following week was Easter week and I would have a few days off. Usually, I was always very busy (that hasn't changed much over the years) and didn't take much time for myself or for vacation, but something was going on with me. I was too overworked and needed a disconnect for a few days at least.

So when my good friend Carlos came by again to tell me if I wanted to go camping with him, surprisingly I said yes, I think he was left with his mouth open, I left work to sort things out, look for money, arrange suitcases because the departure was the next day very early in the morning.

It was quite a long bus ride, 18 hours in total with a couple of stops and passing through a military station where they made us get off the bus and unpack our bags to show the military the contents and then repack our things. My suitcase, which was packed at the last minute, was about to burst, it was crazy trying to reorganize everything and finally close the suitcase.

After arriving in Santa Elena de Uairen we took rustic transport to get into the Savannah. The camp was quite remote and had no electricity, but they had an electric plant that was only turned on for two hours at night at dinner time to share a little.

Honestly, living without a strict schedule, depending on the weather to make the decision of where to go, not knowing what they would give me to eat, but being sure that this beautiful family with Anglo-German roots would surprise me with something delicious, and with a fantastic dessert made me relax even more.

There was a change in my personality, being surrounded by the nature of different cultures, flavors, and customs, living day to day without technology, sharing with others, and learning from their experiences allowed me to make a journey not only geographically, but culturally and above all an unprecedented internal journey. For this reason, I consider it the trip of my life.
