Desde hace ya cuatro meses que estaba tratando de ver esta película y al final nunca me terminaba de animar, soy bastante reacio a mirar historias nuevas últimamente, incluso le di una oportunidad pero no me sentía con ganas de mirar una película así que simplemente deje de verla antes del minuto quince, pero desde la semana pasada mis ganas de mirar películas regresaron y quise renovar un poco mis listas de películas vistas, primero fue con la saga de John Wick, de la que hablare pronto, y luego le siguió esta, Raya y el ultimo dragón. ¿que me pareció esta historia? pues lo mejor que ha hecho Disney hasta ahora, y lo digo siendo un fan acérrimo de Toy Story, en serio, no he visto nada mejor hecho por esta compañía.

I've been trying to watch this movie for four months when it was released and in the end I never got excited about it, I'm quite reluctant to watch new stories lately, I even gave it a chance but I didn't feel like watching a movie so I just stopped watching it before the fifteenth minute played, but since last week my desire to watch movies came back and I wanted to renew a little my lists of movies seen, first it was with the John Wick saga, which I will talk about soon, and then followed this one, Raya and the Last Dragon. What did I think of this story? Well, it was the best thing that Disney has done so far, and I say this being a diehard fan of Toy Story, seriously, I have not seen anything better made by this company.

Esta película, estrenada el cinco de marzo del 2021 cuenta con un elenco mas que todo asiático, fue dirigida por Don Hall (Big Hero 6) y Carlos Lopez Estrada y con el papel protagónico de Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars 7, 8, 9) como la voz de Raya. Hasta los momentos ha recaudado mas de 133 millones de dolares, por encima de los 100 millones que costó hacer la película, y sus criticas han sido casi en su totalidad positivas, tanto por los fans como por la critica.

La pelicula empieza con una historia que nos cuenta Raya, sobre la leyenda de Kumandra, su lugar de origen y los dragones, ahi nos dicen que estos eran bondadosos y ayudaban a los humanos y se sacrificaron en una batalla contra unos espiritus de maldad llamados Druun, que convierte en piedra a los seres vivos que tocan, la leyenda cuenta que Sisu, el ultimo dragon, empuño una gema llena de magia que acabó con los Druun y trajo la paz a Kumandra, aunque los dragones terminaron todos convertidos en piedra, los humanos en Kumandra empezaron a pelear por el control de la gema, lo que los dividió en cinco tribus, quedandose la gema en la tribu Corazon. 500 años despues, Benja, el padre de Raya, la entrena para que sea la proxima protectora de la gema e invita a los jefes de las otras tribus a Corazon esperando que se unan y formen Kumandra nuevamente, pero la tribu Colmillo traiciona a Corazon para robarse la gema y empieza una batalla que acaba con la gema rota en cinco trozos que terminan uno en cada tribu, y con Benja convertido en piedra, ya que al dividirse la gema, los Druun resurgieron de su letargo, Benja al descubrir que los Druun son debiles al agua, arroja a Raya al rio para asi salvarle la vida. Seis años despues vemos a Raya recorriendo el territorio de Kumandra en busca de Sisu, para que esta utilice su magia y elimine de nuevo a los Druun, cuando la encuentra se entera que esta no fue la que creo la gema, si no que la utilizo en nombre de sus hermanos que se sacrificaron para salvarla, asi ambas empiezan una travesia para salvar a Kumandra reuniendo los trozos de la gema rota, en el camino encuentran un simpatico grupo de compañeros que las van a ayudar en su misión hasta llegar a la parte final, en colmillo, donde inicia una nueva batalla contra los Druun que invaden la zona, al final, Raya tendrá que dejar a un lado su resentimiento y aprender a confiar en sus amigos para asi salvar a la tierra de Kumandra y todos sus habitantes.

Cuando vemos una película que esta dirigida a un publico mayormente infantil no es de esperar encontrarse con una trama profunda y un lore muy expandido, y menos un guion complejo ya que lo que se busca es entretener mas que contar una historia enrevesada, pero esto no ocurre con Raya y el ultimo dragón, la película cuenta con un enorme mundo detrás que se explica con calma pero con firmeza, sin dejar nada de lado pero sin introducir información que no es necesaria, cada parte de la película tiene una explicación en si misma y eso la ayuda muchísimo a avanzar en su trama, que empieza lenta y va aumentando en todo, en drama, en acción, en emoción y diversión, obvio, porque sigue siendo una película para niños. Su guion esta muy bien hecho, el mejor que he visto en Disney, solo hay un punto que me pareció forzado entre todo lo que explica la película y eso es decir mucho, tomando en cuenta lo que es, eso junto con lo bien desarrollada que esta la historia se complementa con unos personajes magníficos y en donde quiero hacer un enfoque, y es que amé el personaje de Raya porque se aleja completamente del estereotipo principal de las princesas perfectas de Disney, Raya es un ser humano, que fue cambiando su forma de ser conforme las situaciones que vivió y que por eso es como es, el viaje del héroe en esta película es espectacular porque no cambia de un momento a otro porque si, si no que la historia te va explicando que hace que Raya sea o no sea de una manera u otra, incluso, viéndolo de cierta manera, ella es la propia antagonista de su historia, y su viaje la lleva a enfrentarse a si misma para superar sus temores y salvar a Kumandra pero mas importante, salvarse a si misma, pues sus errores las estaban consumiendo y eso la hace evolucionar muchísimo dentro de la trama, es una maravilla de verdad. Los personajes secundarios se roban la película en todo momento, sobre todo un pequeño equipo de tres monos extraños liderados por Noi, una bebé que rebosa ternura por todos lados, casi ningún personaje es plano y tampoco está en la historia porque si, y para finalizar, el final de la película es lo mejor, es muy dramático y demasiado emotivo, sin duda es un 10/10 para esta película, se las recomiendo muchísimo.

Its script is very well done, the best I've seen in a Disney movie in long time, there is only one point that seemed forced between everything that explains the movie and that's saying a lot, taking into account what it is, that along with how well developed the story is complemented by some great characters and where I want to make a focus, I loved the character of Raya because she is completely different from the main stereotype of the perfect Disney princesses, Raya is a human being, who was changing her way of being according to the situations she lived and that's why she is the way she is, The hero's journey in this movie is spectacular because she doesn't change from one moment to another just because, but the story explains what makes Raya to be or not to be one way or another, even, looking at it in a certain way, she is the antagonist of her own story, and her journey takes her to face herself to overcome her fears and save Kumandra but more importantly, to save herself, because her mistakes were consuming her and that makes her evolve a lot within the plot, it's really wonderful. The secondary characters steal the movie at all times, especially a small team of three strange monkeys led by Noi, a baby that exudes tenderness everywhere, almost no character is flat and is not in the story just because, and finally, the end of the film is the best, it is very dramatic and too emotional, it is certainly a 10/10 for this movie, I highly recommend it.

Yo amé ésta película, Disney es mi franquicia favorita de películas animadas y también puedo decir que es unas de las mejores que tiene hasta ahora ❤

Lo es, para mi es lo mejor que hay en cuanto a películas animadas para niños, en cuanto a animación creo que Toy Story 4 esta mejor realizada, pero esta es mucho mejor en todo lo demas.

Aunque siento que no es tan fuerte como otras historias de Disney, si es bastante buena, la animación como siempre perfecta.

Siempre se ha notado el cariño que le pone Disney a su animacion y creo que eso es lo que lo ha mantenido en la cima en este genero, mas aun con la nueva tecnologia que avanza dia a dia

Es interesante tu perspectiva sobre la película, personalmente al ser una persona ya adulta, me gustó como fue dirigida la historia principal. Tiene esos toques de ser una idea que salga del molde donde Disney nos tiene acostumbrados, un poco de entretenimiento para niños, pero también un poco de entretenimiento más centrado sin llegar a ser tan maduro.
Espero Disney se concentre más en realizar contenido nuevo que el rescatar los clásicos :/

sinceramente el tema del remake ya me tiene un poco cansado, parece que se van quedando sin ideas y lo unico relevante que pueden hacer es traer algo que ya vimos, pero con una mejora visual, Raya cambia eso por completo y es justo como dices, la pelicula es un excelente punto medio entre una historia madura y entretenimiento familiar
