about 4 years since 20 January 2017, Donald Trump was inaugurated as the 45th president of USA, we've been exposed to an economic dispute (trade war) between the two countries with the largest economies in the world today. USA and China .., one of the events of concern was when USA increased import tariffs by 15% on Chinese products and then China retaliated by imposing a 5 % tariff on US crude oil. and many other trade disputes that happen between the both countries.

The existence of a trade war between the two giant economies also has a direct effect on the economies of other countries, so this event is not only a concern of both countries but also the world's attention. and personally, as person who always follow the situation of this trade war also feel how the trade war has an effect on the economy of my country, one of the sectors most affected is coal, where the demand for coal by China has dropped dramatically due to the decrease in purchasing power that occurred due to the trade war. Not to mention other sectors that depend on the markets of the two countries. And I believe this situation occurs in other countries in the world as well.

Two days ago, Donald Trump, who we know as the pioneer of the USA and China trade war, officially stepped down from his position as president of America, and replaced by the winner of the election, Joe Biden, who came from the Democrat Party. The same party as America's 44th president, Barack Obama. The change of president of America is getting the world's attention, especially economic observers. It is interesting to know whether the economic relations between USA and China, which was full of disputes during the trump era, will change and become more calm like the relations between China and USA when President Obama lead or even not much different, that the economic relations between USA and China remain on a path that has no choice of reconciliation..

And after observing some of the issues related to the two countries, I personally tend to the second possibility that the economic relations between the two countries won't be as calm as the Obama era ... and there is a high probability that the trade war will continue ... here are some indicators ...

Joe Biden's cabinet response to China

It's very interesting to observe that several officials in Joe Biden's cabinet have made comments over China, and all agree that China is a serious threat to USA, even Antony Blinken, Biden's choice of Foreign Minister, indicated that America will remain tough against China, and will continue to block Chinese products that are indicated to use forced labor by Uighur Muslims which are considered by America as a human rights violation over the Uighur minority. Although Antony Blinken said that the joe biden era would seek a different way from what the previous trump took, but seeing America's tendency to blockade Chinese products because of accusations of human rights violations, I don't think it's a completely different way and I am sure China will retaliate and the trade war will continue..

Joe Biden and Taiwan

We know that the Taiwan issue is a very sensitive for China, because the country still considers that Taiwan is still part of mainland China. And Taiwan is one of the hot issues in the trump era, where America was very active in engaging with Taiwan, which indirectly provoked China to feel that it owned the region. This Taiwan issue made the relationship between USA and China even more complicated and ultimately had an effect on the economic relations of the two countries, even Barack Obama, the 44th president of America at the time warned Trump not to use Taiwan as a tool of trump provocation.

But what is interesting is that at the inauguration of Joe Biden as the 46th president of America on January 21, officially invited Taiwan to attend the inauguration, and this policy was different from what Barack Obama previously pursued which tended to avoid the Taiwan issue, and This is an indication from Joe Biden that America will not be soft on China at all ..

China remains fierce

if there is a dispute between the two parties, it will end if one of them shows a positive and friendly attitude, but not with the conditions of China and USA, I see that both countries want to reinforce their respective positions as the greatest at this time. China's decision to sanction 28 former officials from the era of the Donald Trump administration right on the day of Joe Biden's inauguration, is not only a form of harassment and humiliation over USA but also a message that China still has a strong bargaining position. Especially in a trade dispute where China currently feels the upper hand because their economy is predicted to overthrow USA as the world's biggest economy in the near future..

Conclusion

The relations between China and USA in the Joe Biden era won't change a lot, the two countries will remain at loggerheads with each other, especially in the economic sector, which is the main focus of the two countries, I'm not leading opinions, but look at some facts as I've wrote above, so I doubt that the trade war between the two countries will end after Donald trump left the White house....
