I decided to stay on the sunny island of Cuba and continue the story about a series of postage stamps issued in 1979 and dated to 50th Anniversary of Airline CUBANA 1929 -1979.
Usually, when they talk about the hero of the day, they do not hesitate to say a lot of flattering words in his honor, but on these postage stamps I see excessive modesty.
On the postage stamps that show us beautiful airplanes, the name of these airplanes is completely absent, which turns the postage stamp into a kind of postcard.
I decided to fix this and fill these postage stamps with a semantic load and find out which aircraft are depicted on each postage stamp from this series.
After some searching, I think I was able to establish the name of the seaplane, or winged amphibian that we see on the postage stamp.
Apparently, this is the brainchild of the great aircraft manufacturer and the father of the first helicopter - Igor Sikorsky.
This aircraft was produced for a short period from 1928 to 1930.
I am amazed at the flight range of this small aircraft, 1200 kilometers of power reserve, this is a long distance.
It's hard for me to imagine how 10 passengers and two crew members could fit in it, but, all this, really, took off into the air and made flights.
It's funny, apparently, if your surname is Sikorsky, you are doomed to be a genius.
But, it can be a good and bad genius, lol.
I personally know the evil genius, Victor, by the name of Sikorsky.
To him came world fame, as well as to an aircraft manufacturer, but he did not build airplanes, he was the world's most famous counterfeiter.
One day, sitting over a cup of tea, he told me a lot about his life and the world of finance, lol.
But even an evil genius can change.
Now, he is the pastor of the Kiev People of God churches.
