Postage Stamp - Pro-Children 1956 - Limoniastrum ifniense - Ifni 1956 - Michel Spanish Ifni 158 - my hobby.

Greetings friends!

Postage stamps are good at showing that people make mistakes and watch other people's mistakes do not learn anything.

Ambition, pride, terror, bloody history, it all leaves an imprint on small scraps of paper with perforated borders.

Today, I propose to take a look at a postage stamp that was issued by the Spanish crown in 1956, in a small colony called Ifni.

This postage stamp features the flowers of Limoniastrum ifniense.

Very soothing and pleasant image of flowers on a golden background.

The inscription on the postage stamp tells us about Ifni as a separate territorial entity.

Indeed, Ifni is a small territory, a city, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, but on land that has long belonged to Morocco.

The history of this city begins in the fifteenth century and, then, indeed, the Spaniards ruled there.

This port city was the center of the slave trade on the African continent.

Namely, from this port ships were sent loaded with live goods - slaves.

But, from time to time, Spain lost control of the city.

The 15th century is long over.

Every year, people celebrate the end of World War II, but there is a lot of cynicism in this.

Yes, precisely, cynicism.

The series of postage stamps is called Pro-Children 1956, what kind of children are we talking about? About the children of Spain, or about the children of Morocco? Or, the Spaniards, simply, decided to generalize, after all. this is a cool name for a series of postage stamps.

Hitler also loved children and loved taking pictures with them.

One gets the impression that the UN was created only to express its concern, but not to take any decisive action against those who coveted foreign lands.

So it was with this territory of Morocco.

Only in 1965, Morocco regained its lands.

Rest assured, distributing postage stamps, Spain could not believe that, one day, her imperial ambitions would be pinned down by the door.

The lessons of the war taught nothing to this advanced country in every respect.

Interestingly, almost all postage stamps from this period were printed according to the same template, you can see this below and compare the postage stamps of different years.

We'll talk more about the colonial period, but for now, I propose to take a look at the postage stamp of a non-existent country.

Important!

  1. Please note that the cost of shipping postage stamps to other countries can be many times more expensive than the postage stamp itself, approximately $ 5.5.

  2. I see that it is not profitable to purchase one postage stamp if, suddenly, you need to replenish your collection. It is always more profitable to purchase the entire series, and, surplus, to change, or sell.

  3. If you decide to buy a postage stamp online, be careful. sometimes sellers use stock images. But this option is unacceptable. You need to see exactly the product that you are buying.

  4. If you are afraid that the postage stamp sellers will want to deceive you, you are doing the right thing, do not doubt it.

  5. To get started with this hobby, buy a good magnifying glass, tweezers with flat and thin edges and a stockbook for postage stamps, they will come in handy.

  6. When buying postage stamps, pay special attention to the back of the postage stamp. The adhesive layer must not be damaged.

  7. There is such an expression - How many people, so many opinions, this also applies to sellers of postage stamps. Each of them believes that his postage stamp is in perfect condition, but only you yourself can find the perfect postage stamp for yourself.

  8. Sometimes, a small, white scrap of paper with a round stamp on it and a number inscribed in the center circle can be a very valuable postage stamp from the days when postage stamps were not printed.

  9. The cost of a postage stamp is determined by supply and demand, but usually in catalogs you can see the estimated cost of a postage stamp in Pounds Sterling.

  10. In terms of quality, postage stamps can be divided into three groups: used postage stamps that were pasted on and removed from the envelope, canceled postage stamps that were canceled at the post office, by order and sent for sale, and clean, uncanceled postage stamps. As you can imagine, these three types of postage stamps, their conditions, greatly affect their value.

To be continued.

For my publications, I do not use stock photographs, it is fundamentally important for me to use photographs that I have made with my own hands for publication and I can name them - authorial work.
