I think I might have lost money.......again

I spend most of my time on Binance but I've also used KUcoin, Bittrex, Huobi and even iomomy, all to a lower extent. However, a pleasant but unforeseen event was turned sour when I decided to create an account on Coinex.

Two days ago, I peered into my Trustwallet to do my usual rounds of shitcoin observation and noticed a nice bump in the price of Hydro. Now if you've never heard about hydro, then that's okay because it is just a random shitcoin I received from crossposting on Publish0x.

Hydro is ranked below 1000 and is normally valued at $0.00005 or something like that on coingecko. However, I noticed that in a certain exchange, Coinex, the price was a tad bit higher.

The reason for the monumental rise in the price that has the token trading at up to $0.11 is probably due to wash trading because of this contest thingy.

Honestly speaking, I didn't care much about the contest. All I know is that I've held this coin for over a year and they've grown from practically worthless to $66 range.

So after a few clicking around and registration, my Coinex account was ready to receive funds. So just like every exchange I've used, I sent the hydro, while also paying a few dollars for gas to the ERC20 address under my account for this token.

Here's my transaction detail of the transfer, detailing all the confirmations being completed.

No show

I made the transaction two days ago and up until now, still no show. It is almost like me and my hydro doesn't exist.

I've tried connecting with their customer care agent but there's no one ever available.

I left a message and got an automated response telling me some crap about giving me a ticket. I don't want a ticket, I just want to sell my damn coin and use it to buy something nice.

I've held those coins for the best part of the last two years, never actually expecting much but still hoping anyway because in crypto, we're taught to never write anything off.

Things finally go in my favour and I decide to sell it an exchange but the exchange decides to scree me over instead.

I finally get a reply from Coinex and they give me a lecture about smart contracts and all that crap. It so happens that only a day before I sent the Hydro to their exchange, there was some change in the Hydro project smart contract that I wasn't aware of.

This would have been avoided if Coinex just included a simple link directing me to the publication from Project Hydro. It is yet to be known what will happen to my tokens, but I'm getting a feeling that it is lost forever. $80 is a lot of money where I'm from, and I might have just thrown it down the toilet.

Moral of the story, Coinex is a terrible exchange and I highly recommend that you completely disregard any thought of using their services any time soon. This is also why should do research on every shitcoin in your wallet before sending it out and also a reason why I hate using Ethereum based application.

Sorry about your loss. I have learnt to stick with a few exchanges. All these fancy exchanges popping up here and there rise a lot of red flags.

I am very sorry to hear you loss man.
they should at least put the wallet under maintenance, so that no one could make any deposit to prevent the customer losing their coin.
