Living in the moment

One of the best parts of living off crypto is the endless ways you could earn money to fund your life. Depending on your society, if you have the means t throw a couple of thousands of dollars into certain lucrative projects, you could turn into your own boss and live on your own terms.

In the years that I've spent growing my portfolio, I've dedicated more effort to ensure I have some level of stability and sustainability. I've benefitted from some flash in the pan goodness, but the ultimate goal is to be able to sustain life anywhere I find myself.

Location location location

Looking at my portfolio value right now, I think if I liquidated everything, I'd be able to handle the emigration of me and my wife. However, the question I ask myself is if that's what I really want.

I'm by no means a high roller and in reality, the money I earn from crypto can hardly sustain life in virtually any country with a decent standard of living. This simple fact is the reason why I've been focused on growing my portfolio and invariably, improve income.

In Nigeria, I can afford my family a fairly decent life. We have food, health, and then some extra spices that make life worth living. Despite being able to afford certain things, I'm pretty certain that it won't be the same in other parts of the World.

Thanks to this situation, I have to always keep my eye on the ball. I mean, life has to be lived but the future has to be considered as well.

Blending it all

Life is short, and if you don't live it, time is just going to pass you by. A friend of mine told me "regardless of how you plan for the future if you die today, the only life you've lived is the life you lived" and that thing stuck with me.

That statement really hit home and after pondering on it, I decided to live a little. I made certain changes in my life and started taking profit to improve my life.

I figured that while I plan to exit the country and work towards that, I still have to live and feel alive in the place where I find myself. Yeah, it's more dangerous, with higher chances of being kidnapped and many other vices, but that's just life and the cards I was dealt.

I can't afford to keep babying about the situation and have to chest it like a man. So, while I stack coins towards relocation plans, I also enjoy the simpler things with my family.

It's easy to forget

I'm glad I do these things because it's actually easy to shut out the world and be caught up in my reality. It's easy to forget to be alive.

Living is for the living, and if you're not living a life that's worth living, then what's the point of it? So, whether it's hitting a cool spot with the wife, or buying some nice shoes, I'll do it once in a while.

I mean, yes I hate it here because of all the problems but I'm still here, so I might as well make it fun. We want to exit this place but until then, we'll spend our hard-earned money on improving the quality of life we live.

One of the best parts of living off crypto is the endless ways you could earn money to fund your life. Depending on your society, if you have the means t throw a couple of thousands of dollars into certain lucrative projects, you could turn into your own boss and live on your own terms.

This reasoning is absolutely amazing and I so love it.

I think that one of humans greatest desire should be a desire to live as the boss of himself and that's what you call living at your own terms.

Yesterday, I spoke with a friend of mine who went for a job interview asking her how it all went and surprisingly, the conditions was really absurd even though the pay was fair for a young lady of her age but not too good also which that was okay but then the conditions she was given got me off my feet.

While we were growing, they told us that who pays you controls you and that is definitely true because the conditions this young lady was give was out of this world.

I picked up a job as a volunteer staff to an organization just because I needed a place to keep me busy not my pocket. So I live and work on my own terms, choose when I go to work and when not to.

The world of crypto is littered with so much opportunities. Just be passionate enough, desiring enough and desperate enough to effect a change and live on your own terms just as you said.

I think in some ways you are blessed. If you lived in the United States, you would need an income of roughly $2000/mo to struggle through life. You really need at least $3000 per month to have some room to breathe, financially.

But, what if you earn $2000/mo and stay where you are? Not permanently, of course. Because of your low cost of living, it would be easier to grow to $3000/mo than it would be in a more costly country. If you move too early, you'd be spending more of your income to survive rather than grow your earnings.

One thing I love about immigrants is that they don't have the same mental blocks as native citizens. Immigrants see opportunity where citizens only see marginal gains. As a first generation immigrant, it would be more likely for you to be successful than your children. Particularly if you have some way of earning money that doesn't require a large time commitment.

It's one thing getting here. It's quite another to earn a living. My family came from Mexico. It was only through farm work and factory work that they survived and were able to provide us the opportunity to finish school. The rest was up to us, which wasn't easy either.

I don't mean to discourage you. In the long run, you would be better off emigrating. However, you should have an extra income buffer before you leave. If it takes an extra year or two, it may well be worth it. Your lower cost of living means you can reinvest more than what you could reinvest where the cost of living is higher.

Stack and compound, my friend. If nothing else sets your fee, CUB and Hive will. I have looked far and wide to try and find projects with similar properties with no luck.

We are in the right place at the right time. It is all a waiting game from here on out.

Living is for the living, and if you're not living a life that's worth living, then what's the point of it?

^ Basically the whole reason I finally gave up my apartment and became a nomad, something I'd wanted to do for a long time. I realized if I kept saying "maybe next year", I might never actually do it :)
