Chasing Milestones

Am I the only one who takes a picture of the odometer on my car when I hit significant numbers like this? I wanted to get 100001 too, but I was afraid my eyes had already been off the road for too long!

After this past week and everything that happened a couple of days ago with the markets, I felt like it would be a good idea to focus on some of the positive things that have been happening with my account.

At the beginning of the year I set a goal for myself to hit 30k HP by the end of the year. As you can see here, I am a decent way towards that goal. If we get a little bit of an upswing on the price or things continue the way they have been, I think I should hit 30K pretty easily.

Things do tend to slow down for me a bit in the summer because my wife and I are going to be doing a bit of travelling and camping this year. We feel like we have some ground to make up from the trips that got cancelled last year.

If the markets have a good recovery, I might even move some of my other tokens into Hive to get me to that 30k mark quicker.

One of the other goals I set for myself was to hit at least 5k Leo Power by the end of the year. This one seemed like a really tall order when I made it at the beginning of the year. Thankfully, my rewards have been better on Leo than they have been on Hive and my LP is growing at a rate I never could have imagined.

Besides what I sent over to CUB, @lbi-token, and the @nolosslottery, I stake every bit of Leo that I earn. With the new CubLife project and when the LBI project finally starts paying out dividends, I think that target of 5000 by the end of the year will be more than attainable.

Hopefully I will blow through that point before the end of the summer. I am already more than halfway to my goal if you add on the LP I have delegated to my curation account. I might pull that back eventually.

Looks like I am pretty well on my way to hitting my goals by the end of the year. With the summer coming up, it is hard telling what my activity is going to be like. I have noticed that both Hive and Leo have slowed down a little bit in the past couple of weeks.

My vote power hasn't been going as low as it had been. That likely means I will be doing even more manual curation than I had been in the past.

I try and do exactly that too haha! I have pictures of both my first and second cars when they reached 77777 miles 😅

I've grabbed shots of 100k on two different cars. I still have one of them. I'd love to catch 200k if it lives long enough. I wish I would have caught 101010...

Ohhh, yeah 101010 would have been awesome. I have had several cars and trucks hit that mark in the past. I think hitting 200k would be cool as well. I probably have a better chance of doing that with my truck than I do my wife's car, even though we put more miles on her car. I just don't think it is built as sturdy.

Very nice! 100,000 miles is an accomplishment on a car lol
But nice work on stacking and pushing towards those goals. While they are good to have they are more general guidelines as we can see a lot can change in 5 months so it's important to not be too focused on those goals so you can take better opportunity when something comes up.

Yeah, those are good points. I always struggle to leave Hive liquid though. It seems like whenever I have it I just want to power it up. It is an addiction!

I remember back in the 1970's and 1980's a car was pretty much done when it registered 100k! Now it means they're only just getting broken in. Congrats on striving for those goals, I hope you achieve them swiftly and celebrate each one.

Thanks! I hope so too! Yeah, things are much different these days. It is funny because some parts of them seem to hold up better, but others were better back in the day. That is the tradeoff we take I guess.

Although I do use a car to travel around, I don't know when I would get my car to 100,000. Especially since I haven't really been bring my car outside to drive due to the lockdowns.

I think the HP goal seems to be fairly close but your LEO goal seems pretty far. Did you move LEO over to Cub Finance and did it affect your progress towards your LEO goal?

Not much Leo into cub, but I sent a lot of Leo over to LBI. I would probably be at 5k now if it wasn't for that. Not sure where you live, but we have some pretty wide open spaces here in the US. 20 mile commute to work each day one way, so the miles add up.

I think its a good investment either way because the dividends in the future will be 100% passive. You probably also got a decent chunk in the CL airdrop so the LEO will add up over time.

Yes, I think that will be the case. Should get me to my goal I hope.

Congrats! You've been doing great there stacking those coins!
I'm far from these milestones, but I'm ok with it, soon I know I can also add more to the stakes rather than powering down sometimes. It's fine, life happens and you got to do what you got to do, right?

I love taking pictures or screenshot of round numbers too :) you're not alone!

Thanks, I appreciate that. Yeah, we all live in very different circumstances and we can only do what is best for ourselves. I've been lucky to never need to power down, but if I do, it is my stake, so I shouldn't worry about what anyone else thinks!

Exactly. I always (try to) make sure that I earn more HP back than I power down in the next 7 days. I keep track of it, and try to remain above 1000 HP. It's fine if I drop below it for a day knowing a payout is coming, but that's my limit. So far I've been able to earn more a week than I power down, so the account is still growing (even though slower).

But yeah, honestly, I can't wait for the milestones 2500 / 5000 and those amounts you mention :) lol.. Let's see where I end up this year :)

It sounds like you are well on your way to those goals. All it takes is a little win and you can start funneling some more money into the platform. Once LBI starts paying out you will have that as well!

Yeah, I actually am. Life will be so much better when that's done :) Can't wait to actually be able to save up as well :) but with crypto that's so possible to make things happen sooner rather than stressing about it for years!

Got to love the milestones. I used to track that with the Jeep.. waiting for it to cross 75,000 but I only put on a few hundred a year. Sooo in 5 more years maybe I'll see it. It hurts though, but not as bad in crypto as it does in miles. You'll reach those goals and hopefully it all pays off handsomely down the road. Best Wishes n your pursuit!

Haha, yeah, that is how my wife's dad is with his truck. I think he had to put new tires on it with only 13,000 miles on it because that is just how little he drives it! That is actually part of the reason we would never lease a vehicle. We would easily be paying insane fees for being over our mileage every year.

You are not the only person that does this. My favorite that i saw was when someone got to 8008135 (boobies). You can get to much higher numbers if you are in a country that uses metric :P

Haha, that is too funny! Yeah, would probably never see that in the us except maybe on a big rig or bus.
