Hive Goal Achieved 40K HP!

avatar

image.png

I've been chasing this one for a long time now. In fact, I think it has been close to a year or more than I have been working towards 40K Hive Power. I vaguely remember hitting 30K HP. It seems like it was so long ago.

I have to be honest, this whole HBD thing really put the brakes on how quickly my account was growing. It's really hard to pass up 20% guaranteed returns though right? Some might argue that I can get equal or greater returns through curation with my HP, but the truth is, I suck at chasing curation rewards. I know it can be lucrative, but it just isn't something I enjoy.

Probably the same reason I am horrible at renting out my Splinterlands cards. The variables change so quickly that it is basically a full time job keeping up with the rent percentages. The same is true with curation. I don't want to get to the point where I find myself doing less manual curation at the expense of chasing some magical percentage.

I also could have hit 40K HP sooner if it hadn't been for Listnerds. I don't regret that either. For the past several months, a good deal of my liquid Hive has been going into the recurring subscription for LN. That's about 500 Hive that could have been powered up to help me hit my goal sooner.

Like I said though, I don't regret that. I have built up a pretty good position on Listnerds with that ~500 Hive and when that platform achieves the success it is destined for, it will pay off in spades. I am confident of that.

If you knew me in real life, you would know that I am a pretty anxious person. I am usually always keeping an eye out for the worst case scenario or often assuming it. When I go to a special event, I often spend the entire event thinking about how horrible the traffic is going to be getting out of said event.

That's just the way I am wired. It is a blessing and a curse all at the same time. As I get older, I have really been thinking about that and I have started to realize that my minutes are fixed. I need to be savoring each one versus thinking ahead to the minutes that haven't even happened yet.

I think the same is true with my Hive account. While setting goals is important and having a "finish line" in mind isn't a bad thing, I need to be sure I am enjoying the ride. Makes a lot of sense when you think about it right?

That isn't to say I am not having fun on Hive, but knowing how long it took me to get to 40K HP, the ride to 50K feels pretty daunting right now. I've already decided I am going to cut back on my Listnerds subscription a bit. I'm also making a small bet on vouchers right now, hoping the Rift pack hype can drive up the price for me to make a profit. It worked when licenses were released.

It would be nice if one of these secondary tokens would blow up suddenly. That could go a long way towards helping me boost my account.

I can't complain though, it has been a good year for me. 40K HP, 15K Leo, that's a lot to be proud of!

And to think, it all began with that first blog post and the first comment. Step by step you kept building and growing while building a legacy that will be passed down to your kids.

Onward to 50K! :)

Well, my dog maybe :) For sure though, it has been a long road. I am looking forward to hitting 50k now!

Awesome congrats man that’s huge! I’m hoping to hit 25k this year and would be epic to hit 35k next year! Keep up the good work!

With regular engagement and not having a whale in your back pocket, it feels like 10k per year is pretty standard. You got this!

Congrats on the 40K :D

Now that you have 40K powered up as a base, have you considered adding any HIVE you earn above that into LPs featuring HIVE to try and build your stack faster?

It takes a little extra work to monitor impermanent loss, but if in your mind you eventually have that other side of the LP being turned back into HIVE, it's easy to come out over 12% (that you would have earned just powered up).

Something to consider.

Are there any LP's that pay out in Hive? I don't really pay attention to impermanent loss. It's all "free" money (minus my time) at this point, so who cares if I lose a little here and there.

While all of the pools on Tribaldex and Cub featuring a HIVE side pay out in a 3rd party token, the key is to instantly cash out your rewards back into HIVE.

If your whole goal is to stack HIVE in these pools, watching impermanent loss is still important.

Use something like DeBank which shows you live, exactly how much each side of your LP is worth, were you to cash out.

So you're always watching to make sure that your HIVE side isn't getting totally eaten by the other.

I would recommend trying to take advantage of the high yields on offer for any HIVE you earn above this 40K.

Try to get to 50K that little bit faster :)

If you enjoy worst case scenario and waiting for things to go wrong you should develop a gambling habit.. there's no end to the ways you can get screwed..

Amazing 🤩 congratulations with 40 K 🥳🥳
Must have been such a great feeling finally hitting that number. So much work went into it.
Well done 😎

Thank you! It seemed to take forever! I just kept watching the number slowly crawl closer and closer. The road to 50K is going to be excruciating.

You are welcome @bozz 😊
I can imagine and now the next level will go even slower. Or not, depends actually on a few things. But if you think it goes slow, maybe it surprises you.
Have fun and enjoy your day 👋🏻

Congrats! You could be an orca soon. I get that there are so many investment options around Hive. HP matters a lot to me, but I stick some funds in other things as they may pay off in the long term.

I am using @splinterrents to lease out my cards so I don't have to check on them. I don't mind paying something for that. I just don't have time to play right now.

I will have to check that one out. Do you know what kind of a cut they take from it? It is getting harder and harder to climb the ranks and my daily quest rewards haven't been that great. I think I might do better just to rent my deck. How do they pay you now? SPS instead of DEC?

I think it's 2.5%, so not too bad. I have a steady income from that in DEC.

I heard that mentioned on Cryptomaniacs, but not seen details. I never played those games, but my son used to. I'm not really looking for more games to play.

Yes, I think you're right, nothing to regret about your "sidetracked" investments both in HBD and particularly that 500 HIVE on LISTNERDS. Only time could tell how profitable they are. It's great that as you have been focusing to achieve your Hive goal, you are also enjoying every minute of the ride.

Congrats on achieving your 40k HP goal!

Thank you! Yeah, I don't feel too bad about it. With the price of Hive being so high, those other funds wouldn't have made much of a dent. Even with the extra 500, I'd still have 9500 to go to get to 50k.

That is beast mode @bozz congrats!

I'm so far from it, but it's awesome that folks can reach their goals and give those of us that extra motivation to keep striving.

Yeah, it has been a pretty crazy ride. Most of that is all earned from content and curation too. I did buy a little, but probably at higher prices than we are seeing right now!

Congratz buddy! 40k is amazing and such a good achievement to hit!

If you don't want to rent out manually, you should check out Splex.gg, they have a automatic rent-out service called "Golem" :D
They take a 10% fee, but nothing more

Ouch 10% that's as bad as the church! Probably worth it if you don't want the hassle though. I just know with peakmonsters you have to go in pretty much twice a day and adjust your prices if you want to stay in the green.

Ye, 10% thats if your card value is under something. The highee your card value the bigger the discount down to 5% I believe it is.

But its competely manual! Just pay the invoices which can be prepaid and its done ^^

It is a blessing and a curse all at the same time.

Lol! Best description of anxiety eh? I feel the same whenever a trigger resurfaces over and over again. At times, it saves my life, too! Weirdest thing ever!

Congratulations on reaching 40k HP, @bozz! Reading this makes me motivated to aim higher. Long way to go for me! Cheers to more success moving forward! 🥂

Congrats on the achievement @bozz . I gave up chasing targets myself so I'm just letting my Hive power tip away nicely and use the other half for cards in Splinterlands and I have to say I enjoy Hive more as a result .

That's cool. I don't really pay too much attention to it. I just keep the goal in the back of my mind. I noticed I hit it the other day, so I thought I would take a pic and write a post.

Yeah, I agree with that. I am just impatient by nature, so it is hard for me. I've stuck around this long, so I am probably good to go till the end.

Congratulations on achieving your Hive goal. I agree that the 20% return for saving HBD is hard to pass up. Once I hit Dolphin I am going to put half in savings and half in HP.

Nice going man, I guess the grind pays off! After my next Leo power up to 50,000, I'm going back to stacking hive. I think if I focus I can build it up fast.

Dang, that is a lot of Leo. Remember when the price of Leo was like six times the price of hive?

I should have done a swap, I thought Leo would be a few bucks with all the claims on how defi would make Leo worth more. I think people are selling altcoins to stack Hive.

Yeah, those DeFi platforms really haven't delivered yet. The bear market probably doesn't help...

Well, 40k is something. I think there is no need to be anxious but just keep give me that 40k upvote to make it easier for you. lol, just joking..

Congrats, by the way, I envy you but at the same time, I can not do that for so many reasons while surviving in the real world.

Awesome! Glad you finally reached that goal. I think it took a better part of a year for me to improve my position by 10K. I like setting and achieving small goals. It makes the journey that more fun. I hear you when you talk about thinking ahead and to everything that may go wrong.. I've been there. It sucks. We miss out on the true moment. Hopefully we can overcome our fears and our habitual pessimism. lol. 😆

Good Luck on your journey to 50,000HP!!!
