It's crazy the things you miss....
It is hard to believe it is that time of year again where the days are warm and long. This is the time of year that I work on gathering much of my content for the posts that I will write during the shorter colder months in Michigan.
The largest problem is being so busy in the Summer also cuts into my screen time. I personally find it difficult to write a quality post on a mobile device and since I refuse to do video content, that leaves me with few options.
Like many others we have seen over the past couple of weeks, it is likely my posting quantity will suffer because of that. I may not even engage as much as I usually do and that kind of kills me quite honestly.
These long weekends are much needed, but I also hate them at the same time. Especially since I have become involved in crypto. Things move and change so quickly, that being away from your pipeline for even one day extra can mean you miss out on lots of good stuff.
Here are just a couple of things I missed out on this past weekend while I was "off the grid".
Kingdoms on CUBDEFI finally launched. I am not even sure where to start with this one. I loaded the page for the first time this morning and I am totally lost! I feel like I need to learn DeFi all over again now. I might need some help with this. Feel free to give me some advice in the comments. I have all of my value locked up in the CUB/BUSD Farm and the CUB Den. I am not sure what moves I have to make to be able to take advantage of Kingdoms. It actually looks like the APR is still better in farms, so I might just leave it.
A bunch of new elements were discovered in RPlanet. A couple of them being Frost and Ice. I knew the jump from Frost to Ice could be a good combination to take advantage of, but sadly by the time I got home to check it out the first six hundred had been minted. After that, you don't get any special boost to your Aether per hour production, so it didn't make much sense for me to try and create them. If I had been online, I might have snagged some legendary or even mythic elements... Oh well I guess.
The Dark Country general land sale took place on Saturday. Apparently, it sold out in something like ten seconds, so I probably wouldn't have had much of a chance anyway. It would have been cool to snag at least one more Rancho Pack. Luckily, I was able to take part in the presale that I wrote about last week, so I am not too disappointed about this one. Actually a bit happy that the sale went so well for them and it shows the demand is there, so my extra pack might be worth 10x soon.
Besides celebrating my birthday yesterday, we were also busy unpacking, doing laundry, mowing the lawn, and running some errands. This caused me to miss the window for the HodlGods/Dark Country crossover event. I was on the fence about this one, so it didn't bug me too much, but I still don't like missing out on the opportunity to invest in new NFTs
On top of this, countless other crypto stories were blowing up my news feed over the weekend. It might seem hard to have the self control to keep my nose from being buried in my phone all weekend, but then again when you have views like this, it isn't so hard after all.
I can already tell I am going to feel myself being torn this summer in a way that I have never felt before. I am significantly more invested than I have been in the past and with the current bull market trying to decide what it wants to do, being away from my sources of information will be difficult.
On top of that, being cut off from the communities that I have come to know and love over time will be difficult as well. I apologize if I don't comment as regularly as normal. I promise, there is a good reason for it and it has nothing to do with my commitment to these platforms.
Does anyone else feel the guilt of taking some time away from the chain? I am curious if it is just me...

I don't feel guilt at all. In fact it's the opposite. I feel guilty when I feel I'm spending too much of my life here.
I do feel FUD though and I try and handle that by telling myself that there are endless opportunities. Is I miss one there's another one around the corner.
I was going to take a whole week break earlier in the year and didn't do so because Project Blank was close to being launched. So I spent time here, against my better judgement and as we know we're still waiting for Project Blank. 😂 If I'd trusted my gut I would have missed nothing.
I don't like the addicted type feeling that can some with this if I don't force myself to step away from time to time. When I'm away I don't miss it. The community seems to be fine with people disappearing and reappearing so i just take up where I left off.
Enjoy your summer of travel. I can't wait until we're fuller unleashed although there are mumerings that we may be entering a third wave here. Sigh!

Yeah, I guess it is probably FUD more than guilt. I just don't want to lose followers or anything like that because I step away for a bit. That sucks about waiting for project blank. I look forward to it finally being out there. It will likely change the way I do a lot of things.

After working for a long time without a vacation and having the courage to drop everything, I am learning not to charge myself.
Here things really change very fast and it is difficult to keep up, especially when you have so many things to do!

With another summer season almost upon us, i feel the same way too. Time outside enjoying the good weather shouldn't be squandered, but there is also some great things happening in the crypto world.
I am not sure what I feel is guilt. But, I am sure disappointed in myself when I don't get everything done that I should.
In the long run, you will not be young and forever able to go do what you want on a summer day... you will not regret missing computer things as much. Remember that being human, and all the fundamental needs for connection with the rest of Creation, was here for many thousands of years before crypto, and go enjoy being human in the summertime.
