Five Reasons Why You Should Be Using Leodex.io
I use both Hive-Engine and LeoDex because there are somethings LeoDex does better than Hive-Engine and vice versa.
But this post is about why you should be using LeoDex when you want to exchange your HIVE tokens.
Save On Hive Deposits and Withdraws
This is probably the first reason most people think of when they think about why they should be using LeoDex. Hive-Engine charges a 1% fee to deposit and withdraw HIVE from the exchange while LeoDex only charges 0.25% to do the same.
That may not seem like much but it can add up. Deposit and Withdraw $10,000 over a year, and you can save $150 by going through LeoDex.
The Rich List
Want to see how your stake stands up to the other token holders? Or maybe you want to find out who the whales are in your favorite Tribe so you can stalk ... er... follow them.
It is easy enough, you can pull up the Rich List for any HIVE token on LeoDex from your wallet or the token list.
Here is the top 10 holders of Leo as an example.
Hey, where am I? I must be #11!
Better Charts
The token charts are pretty similar in LeoDex and Hive-Engine, but there are a couple of things I like about the charts on LeoDex.
First, when I mouse over the candlesticks I can actually read the information that pops up at the pointer.
I don't know if anyone else has the same problem but on Hive-Engine running Brave on Windows 10 this is what I get (note to devs, that is Brave and Windows 10).
You can see that the black box isn't sized right so the white text is lost. That is especially bad on crypto charts where the axis doesn't show the full price.
LeoDex also has a chart of trading volume for the tokens, something that Hive-Engine doesn't have. Being able to look at trends in trading volume can be useful when you are trading HIVE tokens.
See Your Voting Power For Your Staked Tokens
A little hidden secret is that you can go to the rewards page on LeoDex and not only see the rewards you have earned since your last claim, but also your voting power for the tokens you have staked.
Since every tribal token has it's own voting power, you may find out that you aren't using some of your voting power and it is going to waste. In my snip above you can see that my #POB voting power is getting hit pretty hard, but my #NEOXAG is sitting at 100%. I'm going to have to head over to neoxian.city and do some curating!
Value of Your Holdings
LeoDex shows you how much your HIVE token holdings are worth including what you have staked and what you don't have staked.
LeoDex even includes the value of your staked tokens that you have delegated out.
Hive-Engine only shows you the value of the tokens that are unstaked which isn't all that useful if you are like me and stake pretty much everything.
What Do You Like About LeoDex?
Are you using LeoDex? If so, what are some of your favorite features that I might not have listed. If you aren't using LeoDex, why not? Drop me a comment and let me know!

Nice guide. I didn't know about the zooming issue on charts in Hive Engine.

It is probably something in the CSS that isn't working right on my browser/operating system combination. It can be tricky to test it on all the possibilities, but I would think there are enough Brave users that someone would have said something.

This is so cool @captaincryptic. I also like that you can create Limit and Market orders. That's a unique feature of leodex.
I started using it to save on fees and found it much better than HE later on due to these extra functions.

Nice addition! Thanks!

Because anything deposited on their, the fee gets burned.
That is another one.
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
So do they just burn the HIVE, or do they buy back LEO and then burn it?
Posted Using LeoFinance Beta
Yeah they buy the LEO with the HIVE they accumulate and burn that. The idea is to benefit LEO more so than Hive.

I figured that is what they were doing, like you say that helps LEO.

That's a great post and you pointed out the main reasons why to choose leodex. There is another thing that most people are not aware of. In leodex in rewards, you have next to each token (at the right end) a little icon that allows you to modify the vote weight multiplier for each token. This vote weight multiplier is a bit complex to understand but it can be pretty useful in order to curate several tribes with the same account.
I have picked this post on behalf of the @OurPick project and it will be highlighted in the next post!
Thanks! Good addition too!
My favourite thing is the value of tokens including those staked. Makes a huge difference.
I'd forgotten about the voting power chart. I'll be using that as Proofofbrain seem to have changed something on the voting slider and I can no longer see how much power I have left when I vote.
I didn't know about this one an and am not sure why it's useful. 😊

I have been using LEODex for a long time. It is my preferred go to for messing around with HIVE tokens.
Great post shilling LEODex!

Thanks Sgt Dan!
Nice review! I try to use LeoDex for pretty much everything these days. The only thing I tend to use Hive-Engine for is if I am staking tokens. Other than that I do everything in LeoDex. Especially depositing and withdrawing!

Thanks, yeah, that is the main thing I use Hive Engine for too since it automatically adds my username. LeoDex I have to add it.
Yeah, for sure. I think I use Hive-Engine more out of habit and familiarity than anything.

Nice summarization of the main LeoDex features, these are the reasons I use it. I was unaware of the difference in fees between the two. thanks for letting us know.
Glad I could teach you something new!
