Receive a warm embrace and a cordial greeting. Once again I stop by this respected community to continue telling my anecdotes regarding the arrangements we made at home. This post is the continuation of one published three days ago. Here is the link for context.

In the previous post, I mentioned about the fixes we can make to extend the life of our fixtures, invest a few dollars and have new furniture for a few more years.

Since the furniture looked so nice, we decided to have the cushions of the dining room chairs, the rocking chair, the kitchen chairs and a bedside table that was very deteriorated fixed.

We talked to the person who fixed the furniture and he told us the materials and the amount needed to repair the cushions, which was the next project; at that time we had not talked about the chairs.

So we bought 3 meters of fabrics of two models, which cost $20 and a bag of stuffing, equivalent to one kilo, which cost $8. Those were the only supplies we bought.

The day he went to pick up the fabric, cushions and stuffing, we told him we wanted him to fix the furniture I mentioned earlier. Without telling us the price of labor, he agreed to repair them. Within two days he sent us the cushions ready and took the chairs and the small table.

There were two chairs in the kitchen with a wooden structure, the seat and backrest were made of leather, one of them had a broken seat, but the structure was good, it could be saved. And that's what we did, we had it repaired.

We never thought that the work of recovering the chairs would be like new, another style; another model of chairs. It was really a very pleasant satisfaction to have made the decision to have them repaired and to extend their useful life.

In these times we are going through in Venezuela, where it is no longer so easy to buy a dining room set, a set of furniture or any type of furniture, the alternative is to recover, since the material of our antique furniture is often of better quality than those sold today. That is why I invite you to invest in recovering your good furniture.

The best of all this investment was the price that was paid for the repair of all this furniture, it was $70 and to fix the green furniture he charged us $20. *I must emphasize that, in the place where you are; you may not get those prices, but if we look well; we will always find people who work with the three "B" as we say in Venezuela: Good, Nice and Cheap. I invite you to do the same with the furniture you can save.

Reciban un caluroso abrazo y un cordial saludo. Nuevamente paso por esta respetada comunidad para seguir contando mis anécdotas con respecto a los arreglos que hicimos en casa. Este post es la continuación de uno publicado hace tres días. Por acá les dejo el enlace para entrar en contexto.

En el post anterior, yo mencionaba de los arreglos que podemos hacer para alargarle la vida a nuestros enceres, invertir unos cuantos dólares y tener muebles nuevos para unos años más.

Visto que el mueble quedó tan bonito, decidimos mandar a arreglar los cojines de las sillas del comedor, de la mecedora, las sillas de la cocina y una mesita de noche que estaba muy deteriorada.

Conversamos con la persona que arregló el mueble y él nos indicó los materiales y la cantidad necesaria para la reparación de los cojines que era el proyecto siguiente; para ese momento no se había hablado de las sillas.

Entonces compramos 3 metros de telas de dos modelos, costaron $20 y una bolsa de relleno, equivalente a un kilo, cuyo valor fue de $8. Esos fueron los únicos insumos que compramos.

El día que fue a buscar la tela, los cojines y el relleno, le manifestamos nuestro deseo que nos arreglara los muebles que mencioné antes. Sin decirnos el precio de la mano de obra accedió a la reparación de los mismos. A los dos días nos envió los cojines listos y se llevaron las sillas y la mesita.

Habían dos sillas en la cocina que su estructura son de madera, el asiento y el espaldar eran de cuero, una de ellas tenía el asiento roto, pero su estructura estaba buena, se podía salvar. Y eso fue lo que hicimos, la mandamos a reparar.

Jamás pensamos que el trabajo de recuperación de las sillas iban a quedar como nuevas, otro estilo; otro modelo de sillas. De verdad que fue una satisfacción muy grata de haber tomado la decisión de mandar a arreglarlas y alargar su vida útil.

En estos tiempos por los que estamos atravesando en Venezuela, donde ya no es tan sencillo comprar un juego de comedor, un juego de muebles o cualquier tipo de mobiliario la alternativa es recuperar, ya que el material de nuestros muebles antiguos es de mejor calidad muchas veces de los se venden hoy día. Por eso los invito a que inviertan en recuperar sus muebles buenos.

Lo mejor de toda esta inversión fue el precio que se pagó por la reparación de todos estos muebles, fue de $70 y por arreglar el mueble verde nos cobró $20. Cabe destacar que, en el lugar donde te encuentres; quizás no consigas esos precios, pero si buscamos bien; siempre vamos a encontrar personas que trabajen con las tres "B" como decimos en Venezuela: Bueno, Bonito y Barato. Te invito a que hagas lo mismo con los muebles que puedas salvar.
