token.png

Hive Engine

Esta plataforma se presenta dela siguiente forma:

"Hive Engine is a platform that empowers communities, project owners, fundraisers, developers, and businesses to quickly and easily build on the Hive blockchain like never before."

Hive Engine Front.png

Hive Engine intro.png

Hive Engine

English Version

The first time I heard about tokens (they were neither Hive Token or HBD which was what I knew until then) was when I had won some in a giveaway of a live healing, I asked what I could do with them and the only answer I received was "you can change them or make stake".

My face with this answer was a huge question mark, a few days after registering in Hive I had to handle a huge amount of concepts that even today I could say that it is just the beginning. I have decided to bring the subject of Hive Engine to the table because I have noticed a lot of doubt about it within the platform, I have even been asked what it is about but very little is understood about it.

I hope to be able with this little guide to clarify many doubts and those that remain open, you can leave it in the comments and I will surely help you and if I don't know, I will study it.

I will start by defining in the most colloquial way possible some words that we will handle in this guide.

tribe.png

Tribe

As far as Hive is concerned, we could say that it is a group of people or individuals who share common interests, let's see Hive as the planet earth and tribes as the groups of people who inhabit the different countries. To expand on this vision I will continue with clearer examples... Proof Of Brain is a tribe within Hive that is theoretically based on proving that you have a brain, Leo Finance is focused on financial issues and crypto assets while Music for Life, as its name suggests, is focused on music in all its splendour.

We said that each tribe belonged to a country, in this case let's call the country "Frot" which is nothing more than the application to connect 100% with these tribes. Proof of Brain has proofofbrain.io as its front end while Leo Finances has leofinances.io. Each one has its own economic system and in this case we will talk about what really interests us in this topic, the "Tokens".

Tokens are nothing more than those virtual currencies that each tribe can manage from its front end without much complication. Leo Finance has its Leo token, Proof of Brain manages the POB and Music for Life decided to create its Vibes token.

token.png

Each tribe within HIVE has created their own token to reward and/or trade between their users, as well as by publishing we can get rewards within HIVE with their own tokens, it can be done for example from the Proof of Brain or Leo Finance frontend. We can buy and sell these tokens on exchanges and that is why today I will talk more about Hive Engine, which functions precisely as a wallet (virtual wallet) and exchange between these different assets.

Just as the dollar, the euro or the yen have a value and function as a measure for the acquisition of goods and services, pay debts or perform any financial activity; in the same way these tokens work. The three tokens I refer to in this publication are used as an example and to give a clearer understanding of the message I am trying to convey.

Hive Engine

This platform is presented as follows:

"Hive Engine is a platform that empowers communities, project owners, fundraisers, developers, and businesses to quickly and easily build on the Hive blockchain like never before."

Its literal translation would be "Hive Engine is a platform that empowers communities, project owners, fundraisers, developers, and businesses to quickly and easily build on the Hive blockchain like never before. "

Yes, you can have your own token if you wish and have the financial means to create it, this is another topic that is beside the point and requires another level of understanding that we could surely cover another time.

logo-dark-hive-engine.png

What you need to understand up to this point, is that through Hive Engine you will be able to buy, sell or trade tokens. In the examples I'll be using from here on out, I'll be taking screenshots of the Hive Engine platform as well as walking you through PeakD, which is the front end I use to frequently connect to Hive when I'm not using Ecency.

Engine 1.png

Inside PeakD we will go to our wallet, the first thing it will show us will be our finances inside Hive Blog as well as the value of the Hive or the HBD if you do it from a computer. The view changes a bit from a mobile device.

Once inside the wallet, on the left side we can see a panel that gives us options to more features, we just have to click or tap where it says "HIVE ENGINE wallet". It will immediately show us the tokens we have, the movements made around them and the option to send them to other users. Remember that these tokens can be used in any way you want, I have even seen that many of them are used to pay for services or, as happened to me at the beginning, as a reward for winning a competition.

In the beginning, especially if you are new to HIVE, you may not have any tokens or very few tokens at all. It has been said many times that the way to get these tokens is by buying them directly from Hive Engine or by winning them thanks to our publications.

The easiest way is by posting and they are obtained through votes in the same way we obtain HBD and Hive Power.

tags.png

You may have often used tags like "#proofofbrain", "#neoxian", "#palnet", "#leofinance" in order to get more reach and receive more votes as your post applies. The truth is that you are right, this is a way to reach the tribes and receive as the curators consider votes on your post. Often people with high voting power in these tribes, as well as in hive there are users with a high level of Hive Power and therefore their rewards for voting for us is higher; they don't exactly have full presence in Hive and by using the front end of their tribe, they only have access to the content that is published in it.

You have two options, either go to publish directly from their front, in their communities or use these tags to be found and this second one is usually the most common but I repeat, the ideal is to use it as you consider your topic to publish because for example, we will not go to the community of Leo Finance to publish a recipe about chocolate chip biscuits; unless it talks about how you can monetize that recipe and what financial benefits or disadvantages can bring to users who read you, otherwise do not expect them to take it very seriously.

Let's go back to the Hive engine and how we can take advantage of the benefits of this platform. At the point where we left off, all that remains is to access its website.

Engine 2.png

Back to PeakD / Wallet / Hive Engine... look at the image just below where it says "Hive Engine Tokens" we see a link that will take us directly to your page, just click and we will leave PeakD to enter this website.

Hive Engine Front.png

Hive Engine intro.png

Hive Engine

Already on the website (first image or image on the left), we select "GET STARTED" right in the middle of the screen or in the top bar on the right in "SIGN IN". In the next image we have two options to log in, on the left side by placing our user in Hive and pressing on the sign in symbol, immediately Hive Keychain will ask us to approve this request... if you still don't know how to configure and use Hive Keychain, I recommend you to take a look at this tutorial that is very well elaborated and we thank @ilaz.aliento, click here to see it...

On the right we can see another option to log in and that is to use our Hive user and our post key. In particular I always recommend using Hive Keychain because of the level of security it represents and also because we don't have to expose our keys in this way.

Once logged into Hive Engine, we can go to our wallet and see the tokens we have, if we have pending tokens to claim, we just have to go to where our username appears, click on it and when the menu pops up we will have the option to go to rewards to accept the pending tokens.

Engine 3.png

Engine 4.png

In the rewards window we can see those tokens that we have obtained and not yet claimed as I said previously, just click on "Claim " to add to our wallet that token or if we want to speed up the process and accept them all, click on "Claim all ".

Engine 5.png

Engine 6.png

After claiming all our tokens the page will immediately notify us and we can go back to our wallet to use them as required or desired.

Engine 7.png

I will now go on to briefly detail all the parts involved in our wallet for better understanding and handling.

1. Token short name: This is usually a short word that relates directly to the token in question, for example we can see that the token for the "Music for Life" tribe, which in the image is the third one from the top down, is called "VIBES ".

2. Token name: This is the full name of the token and in many cases is the same as its abbreviation.

3. Liquid Balance: In a nutshell this is what we have on hand and can handle directly.

4. Estimated value: Here we can see what is the estimated value of the liquid tokens we have, for this example we can see that the 0.21202728 POB I have have an estimated value of $0.06 if I decided to exchange them in the market by then.

5. Percentage of Fluctuation: Remember that in the world of cryptocurrencies, the value of each one can change drastically and without warning, here what we can see is how much they have risen or fallen the value of each token showing us that percentage.

6. Token that we have bet: This is an important part, this figure shows us how many tokens we have bet in certain tribes. To make it more understandable and how I visualize it; betting tokens and keeping them in stake, allows us to receive healing rewards with those tokens in the same way that our Hive Power does. When we power up our tokens, we are in the same way as Hive, betting to receive healing rewards on those tokens if the post we vote for has or has not received votes from other high-powered users with those tokens. This part is a bit peculiar and we could tackle a whole post on it but for the moment, we are interested in what this unit represents.

7. Information: Here we will find the information about the token, the user linked to Hive how much it is circulating and in most cases the link to the front end of the token.

8. Token Market: Clicking on these arrows will take us directly to the market where we can buy or sell our tokens, later I will explain how it works and how to sell or buy tokens.

9. Send token: There is not much to explain, through this link we can send our tokens (Liquids), to other users within the Hive chain.

10. Show Token History: As indicated in "Show Token History", we can see all the transactions made by us for the token we are querying, both the input and output of these.

11. Token Stake: We can Stake the tokens that we have liquid, in this way we will increase our voting power within the tribes for these tokens.

12. Power Down: Without much to explain, just as we can bet them, we can withdraw them and each tribe establishes its times to make the total withdrawal of the same. I give as an example the case of Proof of Brain and its token POB... the time to make "Unstake" is 28 days divided into four payments once a week.

13. Delegating tokens: Through this option we can delegate the tokens we have in "Stake" to any other user within Hive.

14. Remove delegation: Just as when delegating, we can also decide whether to remove the delegation to a user by using this option.

15. Pending Undelegations: To display the tokens that we have stopped delegating that are still pending to be returned. As with power down, the times are set by each tribe, in the case of POB; they are 7 days as in Hive.

Engine 9.png

Next, at the top we have three important points to take into consideration. The first one is the "Est. Value: " and this is just the estimated value of all our liquid tokens put together. And the other two options we are interested in at this point are "DEPOSIT " & "WITHDRAW ", later on I will explain how to make a withdrawal from this environment and take it to our Hive wallet for deposit, it works the other way around although this one requires other points to consider.

Before I continue with the explanation of how to withdraw our tokens or exchange them within this platform, I want to show you a very useful application created and published recently by @themarkymark that I can assure you will make our life much easier than we thought.

Engine 11.png

Hive Engine Tools

I will not go too much into the use of this web application that I assure you will be very useful, I will try to summarize and highlight the features that will be most useful for what concerns us. You can find the details of this application by visiting the publication of "themarkymark" [by clicking here] (https://peakd.com/hive-167922/@themarkymark/hive-engine-tools-tribe-config-tool-updated-with-unstaking-and-delegation-cooldowns).

In the image above we can see in the "Pending Token Payouts " option that in the "Username" bar we can put our username in Hive or any user's username and see how many tokens are pending to be paid and to which publication in Hive is linked to that claim, we can even see the Pending HBD in a general way.

Another very useful option is "Hive Engine Curation ", here we can check how many tokens we have obtained by healing between 1 and 30 days, it has many other interesting data that I invite you to consult.

I could talk about each point of this application but it would be a whole new post within this post so I invite you to visit this tool that in good time this witness has made available to us. And before I continue with the topic of this post I will mention another of the points that I find important of this tool which is "Tribe Config ", here we can see all the configurations of each tribe and the transaction times established for their tokens, as I mentioned, we could do another post talking about the benefits of this tool but it will be for another opportunity.

The link to this tool is the following Hive Engine Tools.

Remoting Tokens from Hive Engine

So far I hope you have understood what tokens, tribes and the functionalities of Hive Engine as well as the Hive Engine Tools are all about. Next I will show you with example a step by step how to withdraw our tokens from this wallet and get them to our wallets in Hive.

Engine 13.png

Remember the point 8 that I explained in the screen of our wallet in Hive engine, well from here we can access the market of the token we choose or we can select in the top bar the option "MARKET " and we will enter the exchange market in the bar that we see on the left we will select the token we want to buy or sell respectively.

For this example of withdrawal I have selected a small portion of my BRO tokens to make this withdrawal. In the "Sell BRO " box we find all the options for this operation. In Price should be the selling price (the maximum value can be selected by clicking on the bottom left "Highest BID " which appears in blue as a link and the "PRICE" field will be filled automatically).

In Quantity we will place the amount we want to sell and once this field and the Price field are filled in, it will automatically indicate in the Total box how many Hive Tokens we will receive for the transaction.

Next we click where it says Sell BRO in the bottom right corner and it will show us a screen like this:

Engine 14.png

Engine 15.png

By clicking on "SELL ", we will have to accept this transaction with our Hive Keychain by hitting confirm and our order will be processed.

Engine 16.png

Now if we go back to our wallet we can see that we have a new token "SWAP.Hive" or Hive Pegged, at this point we can use it to buy other tokens in the Market or withdraw it as liquid Hive directly to our wallet in Hive, for the purpose of this guide I will show you how to get them to our wallet in Hive.

Engine 17.png

We go to the top right of our wallet and select "WITHDRAW ", immediately a window will open on this screen where it will ask us for the token we want to withdraw, in this opportunity we will leave it in HIVE, current Balance shows us the available balance for that token and in the "WITHDRAW AMOUNT" section, we select the amount we wish to withdraw remembering that there is a deposit and withdrawal fee of 1% on the amount, even if you put the total amount in tokens available, this percentage will be calculated and debited automatically.

Where it says "WITHDRAW ADDRESS" we must verify that our user is the correct one as after processed, no refunds can be made. The MEMO is not necessary if we will direct it directly to our Hive wallet. In case the withdrawals or deposits we make require a memo to be processed, this is the box we will use.

Once you are all set up, just proceed to click on "WITHDRAW HIVE " and accept this operation and you will immediately be redirected to the marketplace indicating that your order has been processed.

Finally we can go to our Hive wallet and in the transaction panel we can check our processed honey-swap order and this amount should already be credited to our HIVE TOKENS wallet.

I hope this little introductory guide to Hive Engine has been very useful, any questions you can leave it in the comments and I will gladly give you an answer as soon as possible.

My recommendation when obtaining tokens from any community.... **Invest", most of the tokens do not have a great value and those that do, are difficult to acquire just for publishing in Hive, unless your theme is focused on that tribe where you publish and publish from their front as I will do in this case by using Leo Finance as they usually offer a better profit when we are voted.

Remember that no one is obliged to vote for our posts, show dedication in your publications, make good social relations and improve over time. Success lies in perseverance and doing things with love, always paying attention to detail.

My ideal is always to invest at least 50% of the tokens (make Stake), and in case I don't need to take them out I leave 100% in Stake and thus increase my voting power to get benefits for healing with that token.

Excellent friend, and thank you very much for your words. I hope it will be very useful, many of us came to this path somewhat disoriented and I searched everywhere but I had to clarify many doubts on my own, that is why I have decided to give Hive part of my experience and knowledge on this path, hoping it will be a good contribution.
