Splinterlands - SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge - Theme: Lone Boatman
(Edited)
Hello Friends,
https://peakd.com/splinterlands/@splinterlands/share-your-battle-weekly-challenge-loan-boatman
How are all doing? I am sure you pretty feel bored on Mondays after 2 days of weekend, right?
Well, here is my routine weekly blog on Splinterlands for the Weekly Challenge of SHARE YOUR BATTLE with this week's theme monster being Lone Boatman from Life Splinter.
Lone Boatman is an Untamed edition common monster of ranged attack type with 3 awesome abilities with details of which as are shared below.
This monster is a snipe attack ability monster with stats for this as as shared here:
The ranged attack for this monster starts at 2 and increases to 3 in level 8 and remains the same until max level i.e. level 10.
The speed also starts at 2, but increases to 3 from level 2 itself and that eventually increases to 4 from level 7 onwards and that makes it among the few early attackers when leveled up.
As for as the armors are concerned, it starts with lone armor, but that increases to 2 from 4 onwards and that the max number of armors it can have.
The last stat for this monster is about the life it has, it starts with 3 lives and that quickly increases to 4 from level 3 onwards and that is the maximum this monster has unless we use any life increasing ability monsters.
Coming to the most important stats about this monster, i.e. it's abilities and this monster possesses with abilities like snipe from level 1, repair from level 5 onwards and the last one being shatter which is available at max level i.e. level 10.
Battle and Lineup:

This was a battle I would love to share the most because of a win against a very higher ranked opponent and also for the better win for me against good lineup.
The battle was with 36 MANA cap with 2 rule sets in Stampede and Lost Legendaries.
While stampede enables multiple trample if the attacked monster dies and Lost Legendaries as we know, doesn't allow legendary monsters to be used in the battle.
Lineup:
There was enough MANA cap and I wanted to pack the front row with a heavy monster and try to attack from the backend and accordingly, I used below lineup for this battle.
1. Warrior of Peace:
As I said, my main intention was to keep a strong monster at front position and have the armors rebuild with the help of Lone Warrior and hence, I went with this monster at the front.
2. Silvershield Knight:
To enable more melee attack to my melee monsters, I used this inspiring monster and also used it as a backup front monster in case the Warrior of Peace gets removed early.
3. Cave Slug:
This scavenger and opportunist monster is good in this position since it's a melee monster and can work even as a front monster and also keep hunting those low life monsters.
4. Silvershield Assassin:
My favorite from Life Splinter and I always use this in combination with Silvershield Knight to get best out of it with it's poison ability being the most effective in getting rid of those monsters at the backend.
5. Divine Healer:
A healer for the tank which also slows down opponent's monsters and gives that lone magic attack which could be the deciding factor in some of the battles if not all.
6. Lone Boatman:
And lastly, I lined up the theme monster for this week to keep that back end a bit protected as this monster comes up with it's own armor to add to those armors it gets from summoner.
Opponent used monsters from Death Splinter with Mimosa Nightshade as summoner with monsters Undead Rexx, Cursed Slimeball, Creeping Ooze, Phantom Soldier, Octopider and Halfling Alchemist.
Battle:
Round 1:
Opponent's usage of Mimosa Nightshade summoner means my task was cut short as there was no healing and only way I can win the battle is to get rid of those monsters as early as possible before the Warrior of Peace gets removed.
In line with that, the sneak and opportunity monsters I used in Silvershield Assassin and Cave Slug combined to remove Halfling Alchemist and Creeping Ooze from opponent's lineup and saved the monsters from getting slowed down and also getting their attack halved.
Round 2:
All of opponent's monsters were targeting Warrior of Peace and the monsters I used were removing the monsters from back end from opponent's lineup.
Cursed Slimeball was next to go and that was the only monster to be removed.
Round 3:
Octopider got poisoned in last round and with another blow from Silvershield Assassin, it got removed and Warrior of Peace was the first monster from my lineup to get removed just before the Phantom Soldier also got removed.
Round 4:
With just Undead Rexx left for opponent, which is one of the slowest among the monsters left and hence, didn't get a chance to attack again as it got removed from the monsters I used and that means, there was a win in Fourth round for me with 5 of the monsters I used staying alive!!!
Questions and Answers:
Did my strategy work? What will I try differently next time?
I think I had a doubt initially after looking at opponent's ranking, but once I saw his lineup with only 3 major attacking monsters, I had a bit of relief and my monsters didn't disappoint me.
Hence, a BIG yes to this question and Silvershield Assassin is a gem for such battles and not to forget the contributions from all other monsters including the theme monster of Lone Boatman which kept adding those armors back to the Warrior of Peace to keep it alive for longer.
If I wasn't using this theme monster, I would have used another ranged attack monster with faster speed such as Centaur.
Do I like the Lone Boatman? Why or why not?
I definitely like it and use it for sure whenever the magic is off or when I see a weak magic rule set.
The 2 rule sets I mentioned makes Lone Boatman more powerful and it's 2 ranged attack is a bonus for me.
That's all about this battle and that was one of the easiest battles against a higher ranked player like my opponent and I will always cherish such battles for a longer period :).
Thanks and Have a Wonderful Week ahead :)

Well done bro.
I really like your writing style and your strategies.
This one seems good as well.
I'm just advising you to show the pictures of the monsters in a smaller size.
Keep on battling.
