No Problem-Business As Usual

In order to keep going up things have to drop in order to go back up.

This morning I woke up to a sea of red with everything in crypto land being down. In Hive's case it was seriously down and according to many this was expected after the recent run we have had. Honestly this should make no difference as the price should only worry you if you are considering selling. Nothing changes on here as this is just head down with staking and earning, so business as usual. I don't care if it is up or down as all I am worrying about is how much stake I am staking daily. These are factors we have no influence over so why worry and only worry about things you can influence.

All this tells me what I knew before is that if one wants to be able to live off Hive earnings at some point then they need a shed house full as stake. Imagine being in cruise mode and losing half the value over one or two days knowing you have bills to pay as they stay constant.

Being 3 years into a 5 year plan tells me maybe this will become a 10 year plan or a plan that is constantly evolving. The volatility of the markets is very scary and anyone living off crypto must have grey hairs or a thick skin. The reality is crypto is still too new and needs to mature to gain stability.

The good thing which many forget is the opportunity that is presented every time the price drops making Leo and Hive easier to earn. We at least can make by earning Hive and Leo whether the markets or up and down unlike investors who have their tokens stuck in wallets.

I think it effects many who are on here who live and breathe crypto and are desperate to have financial freedom tomorrow and don't want to wait.I have been working for 32 years in the real world so sacrificing 10 years on crypto sounds like a fair gamble to me. I know many think like my son who just want things instantly and don't really want to work for it. He was bitching this morning and told him to just get real. That is the problem with crypto as many who are in crypto have an immature outlook and why we have terms like mooning and Lambo.

I have given my son advice in the past telling him to get involved and be committed in whatever he does as when it does pay off you can at least appreciate what you have. Bitcoin has taken 11 years to get where it is today so where will Hive and Leo be in 8 or 10 years time and why we must just stick to the course as everything is still on track.

I think times like these are a really good barometer for the future. If you can still do what you are doing on here every day when the price is down, then you will be more than ready for when the price is up. I really consider myself lucky sometimes that my account wasn't big enough during the last run to really matter. It gives me a fresh perspective and a bit more humility about the whole thing.

Yeah, I was surprised to see so much panic over a modest dip to levels of two weeks ago. I never lost hope during the long bear market from 2014 to 2016. But on second thought, if Bitcoin is only a 'store of value' today, the price is the only thing that matters and volatility is devastating for that purpose.

Everything is still higher than what it was so that is a good sign. Volatility is devastating if you are literally banking it in your head.

I feel great that my crypto investments aren't really important for me to "survive" right now. Then I don't really have to think about the drops in the market because they will come from time to time again. Hodler ftw!

It seems as though this happens every time though. I know very little about how the markets function, I presume it is a supply and demand thing but outside of very rare outliers, it seems as though basically all crypto is linked in one way or another to the value of BTC.

Btc dropped 10,000 dollars in value in the past 3 days so it wasn't a surprise to me at all that literally everything else I have followed suit.

I'm like you, I work and do not depend on crypto worth for a living. I would love to see it all moon but at the same time we are still in a better place than we were 6 months ago so just carry on....

Exactly right and one day would love to earn passively off my crypto but we are not there right now. Who knows two or three years from now that could be a reality.
