Rounds of Peanuts

avatar

Looks like the goods I purchased a week and half weeks ago are here! I chose this Peanuts piece over at APMEX because I'm a fan. I couldn't help but get (almost) everyone's favorite beagle, Snoopy.

In the back, you can see the main cast of Peanuts. From left to right, you can see Pig-pen, Schroeder, Franklin, Sally, Charlie Brown, Lucy, Peppermint Patty, and Marcie. What confused was the fact that Linus is nowhere on that roster. I have no idea why they excluded him and I don't know where I would find that info.

As a bonus, I also mentioned that I was going to try my luck with the generic colorized silver. A lot of times, I find the colorized pieces to have much higher premium than vanilla silver. I went ahead bought five pieces and here are the goods:

It feels like the staff at APMEX decided to give me items from the same series as the Snoopy round. The unfortunate part was that I only got two unique pieces out of it. So, I got Peppermint Patty and patriotic Snoopy/Woodstock.

I'll admit, it felt a bit disappointing, but silver is silver. I guess I was expecting more variety. Would I do it again? I may do it to test out the theory that APMEX shoves products in the same series into the mix. If that were the case, it might not be a bad approach for when I actually want to collect a certain set.

         Anyways...

Cool rounds. In about 5 months time we're gonna be buying copper or wooden rounds if inflation/prices continue to rise!

Thanks for showing the cool collectable Silver coins, @enforcer48. I've bought a few things from APMEX and most of the time, it was ok. They have a pretty good selection, usually, a little more expensive than their competitors.

What other vendors do you use?

JM Bullion used to have some good Monday deals. Ebay, but you really have to be careful, with whom you deal with. APMEX on eBay, "SPECIAL PRICE!" search. Local Coin Shop, mostly,

Great stuff! Can’t beat Snoopy and the Peanuts. Please keep posting your buys and finds. Love seeing that stuff.

I collect old fiat silver coins. Haven’t bought any for a long time, but need to. Right now they are expensive through the usual places like eBay or Amazon.

I will probably have to start hunting the old haunts like flea markets and yard sales for the deals.

I like the history and art behind the coins as much as the $.

I’m lazy, so I usually buy through APMEX.

Maybe one of those times, you should show peeps your silver collection?

I might just do that. It’s nothing real big, but I like it. Need to unpack it still from the move. Thanks for the idea. I may just do that.
