well if you were able to live ok while paying the debts why not take 80% of the same amount to invest instead of paying debts...
imagine the long term gains from that. congratz on being debt free

Some of that money is being diverted into investments. I can't say it is 80%, as we were scrapping by and some of the debt came from struggling to cover everything every week, the classic debt trap. It's a vastly different feeling to be looking at what I can put that money into, as opposed to which bills to pay.
