Tomorrow I am Joining the Army

If you have been following for a while you will probably know that i am joining the army. Long story sort for those of you that have no clue as to what i am talking about let me tell you what's the case.

Here in Greece we have the mandatory army thing because we have enemies around (like Turkey) so we need to be ready all the time. For that when we celebrate our 18 birthday we have to enlist to the army or to be more precise you are eligible to enlist.

This is a mandatory thing but we can postpone it a bit if we enroll at a university. That's what i did but now i don't have the time to postpone it anymore, it also has an impact on finding a job. Depending on the job they want you to have completed your army enlistment.

That army thing takes 1 year of your lives and the best thing is that for the most part, we are simply doing chores. Anyway, the time has come for me and tomorrow i will be the to the base that i supposed to be.

The truth is that depending on the base and the people there, things are harsher or light and that means that depending on them they might take my cell phone because no cell phones are allowed.

For that reason, i have already set some autovotes to some people that i really like their content. Hopefully, they won't take my phone and i can use it to vote and even write some posts when i got the time.

Also, these past few days, i was out all day long buying the stuff that i will need there as well as drinking coffee and have fun with my friends, that's why i wasn't that active here.

So as far as i know i will be in the base for around 20-25 days and then i may take some time off which will be less than 6-7 days, to come back home and then head to a new base.

Anyway just wanted to let you know because you may see me absent for a while. I haven't "sold" Hive and Leo out and i am still there lurking behind the shadows waiting for leo and hive to get to 1$ and more!!!

I wish you free, easy military service and to be able to go home often! It was a surprise to me to learn that there is compulsory military service (apart from Israel). I hope we are all well when you return full-time here.

I wish you the best of luck and safe deployments! It is a noble thing to be willing to sacrifice years of ones life to ensure the safety of your country and everyone who lives there.

Best of luck as you start the sort of new chapter in your life. I think the skills taught at any army training play a crucial role in one developing self-discipline attitude. Through the pain, the body and mind are made more resilient and one just develops a better backbone to deal with whatever it is life has to offer.

Have a great time, learn something new, get to observe your mind and body limits, at the end of the year you will have morphed into a better version of who you are right now.

Cheers!

All the best for your military service! We have conscription in my country at 18 as well for 2.5 years. Looking back, it was fun times but it felt pretty shitty going through it.

Stay safe! I've got a couple of permanent shoulder and knee injuries from my time there but some of my platoon mates had much worse injuries.

All the best and I wish you get a more lax unit. One that would at least let you use a phone or the internet at night-time. :)

If there is one thing I am really thankful for about my country, it is the fact that we don't have this mandatory enlistment.

I first heard about this thing when I started watching Korean Dramas and I just can't believe at first that there is such a thing. I hated my first year in college because of my ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) class and that is only every saturday for a year. I just can't imagine if I have to do it FOR A FULL YEAR. Jesvsss!

Anyways, good luck! Hopefully when you get out of the army, HIVE and other things you are invested in has increased by at least ten-fold!!! XD
