Taking A Closer Look @Leo.Voter (LEO&HODL Contest)

LV.png

If you have been writing contents related to the LeoFinance theme, one or more of your posts may have already been recipient to Leo.voter's upvotes and you might have observed that at times, its curation is quite generous too.

But what (or who) really is leo.voter?

I'd say it's one of LeoFinance's official curation accounts. As indicated on its profile, it curates contents that are posted directly through the LeoFinance front-end. I did notice sometime ago that it also curated some contents in other Hive communities with the #leofinance tag.

Currently, it has 65k Hive Power and over 2.1 million HP delegations from different users in Hive who are getting $LEO as their delegation rewards.

Having more Hive Power means Leo.voter can give out more upvotes around the community and also increases its curation rewards in the process. Hence, I personally think that delegating Hive Power to Leo.voter is a win-win.

Why do I say so?

  • We help grow its curation influence which will be very useful to us as content creators because when we create quality posts and get upvotes from leo.voter along with its trail, it will be a boost in growing our own accounts.

  • We get rewarded with liquid $LEO everyday which will also help us grow our Leo Power when we stake them;

  • It is known that LeoFinance have development works going on and perhaps by delegating to it, we are also supporting its infrastructure or projects one way or another.

On a side note, I'd like to share my personal experience when I was but a #newlion in the LeoFinance community half a year ago.

  • On Delegating
I first delegated to leo.voter earlier this year (February) when, while visiting Hivestats to check my account graphs and stuff, I learnt that it pays rewards. I didn't expect that it would pay in the form of $LEO token and only realized it after I came aboard LeoFinance a month after. Yep, I wasn't that meticulous in checking things. But it's okay because I made it a goal to grow my Leo Power.

For a little preview, here's one of my recent rewards from my 430HP delegation.

  • On Getting Curated by Leo.voter
My first post was welcomed by leo.voter with a 19% upvote and several of what I've written have been recipient to its curation too and I'm grateful of course!

    Screenshot_12.jpg

There is no denying that when we hit the publish button for our post to go live, we wish it to get attention in terms of curation and engagements because it means we are visible in the community. It's part of the motivation so to speak. But it doesn't mean we should stop creating contents when we don't get upvotes.

If you are new and not being "seen," don't lose heart. Just keep showing up, do what you know will make you stand out (the right way) and you will get there. It is understandable that we cannot always write top level posts but we can try to learn and improve each day. I'm still working on that too.

How does the leo.voter curation works?

I have no concrete idea on how it worked previously, but accordingly, it recently has gotten a more "decentralized" flavor as Eric (anomadsoul) puts it.

Everyday, the LeoAmbassadors (l337m45732, whatsup, niallon11, bitcoinflood, idiosyncratic1, finguru, uyobong) go around the LeoFinance new created posts and find articles worthy of the leo.voter upvotes. They follow a certain process and you can read more about it here. You will also learn some clues or tips on what kind of posts are usually curated by leo.voter and the oracle accounts.

I was wondering if the leo.voter's curation might also be able to help to attract more users to the community. Can it perhaps work like the OCD initiative where it supports new users in the den too as a way to retain them? Or Liketu which curates most those who post through its interface? Of course, it should be understood that in order to get upvotes from the leo.voter account, there is the need to put quality first.

This is my participation the the Week 5 of the LEO&HODL Contest with Leo.Voter being the focus.

I've been delegating to leo.voter for over two years now. I like the fact that it helps both the HIVE and LEO tokens in one fell swoop. Buying HIVE helps its price, and making the delegation helps to support awesome content creators on LeoFinance while growing our own LEO stake. Its a win, win for everybody!
