RE: Campaign To Bring Leofinance Witness To Top 20

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

It is uncertain if their team wants to be involved in blockchain policy discussions.

They are obviously capable of running a witness server however being in the top 20 would mean they would need to be willing to coordinate with others on the chain and communicate quite often. They are not presently involved on hive in this way perhaps even actively avoiding interacting with most other projects and witnesses and its worked out fine for them.. so you'd probably want to check with them if they are even interested maybe out of top 20 is exactly where they want to be so their time is more focused on their product.

I'm glad you're the person to make this point because I know it comes from a non-cynical place. But if it turns out a witness was set up to avoid the top 20 slots, it's a good problem to have and I'm sure they'll cope.

You bring up a good point. I am sure they are willing and capable of being involved in Hive in many ways including as a top witness. If anything, they have shown to be able to multitask and accomplish multiple goals/projects simultaneously. Just like peakd they bring great amount value to Hive. Is there a way I could convince you, peakd, and steempeak to vote for their witness?

Someone once mentioned they decided to not interact with other hive developers/projects perhaps. Not sure. I think they just want to keep to themselves in the hive world. Who knows but they have been absent from all hardfork type discussions from what I have seen. So yeah i think they're in a good place doing their own thing

Their past performance and work in building on Hive and for Hive demonstrates that they are all in Hive, just like you keep building and building. How teams approach their work I guess may be different. It is obvious to me, I hope to you too, that Leofinance has best interest of Hive and its community.

They are willing and capable of performing block producer duties with responsability and beyond. I don't believe they prefer isolation and do their own thing. The things they have been doing have been our things, the Hive things. I am sure if there are important discussions to be had about hard forks they will be there. Just because some aren't always active in specific chat rooms shouldn't be a disqualified. It will be great to have your vote. If you still have some reservations, I understand. Perhaps, you can ask them yourself to clear up any doubts.

Awesome projects like Peakd and Leofinance are what keep Hive going and growing. Builders like your team and Leo team have enormous support and confidence of the community. I have no doubt Leofinance belongs in top 20. I hope you will agree too after considering all the merits.

I really think you need to let them speak for themselves.

After you first comment, I did get a confirmation that what I am doing is ok with them. If I failed at convincing you, sorry. I am not really good at it. I will tell how awesome Leofinance is to all stakeholders who are willing to listen, just like I tell the world how awesome Hive is on Twitter.

The strength of #Hive lies in our #decentralization. In a centralized system, the user is the customer or the product. In decentralized #Hive, the user is the owner. Any individual enjoys the absolute freedom of contribution to #Hive.

You could say the same about a lot of the top 50 and even top 20.
