3 Tips For A Rewarding Experience On The Blockchain

3 Tips For A Rewarding Experience On The Blockchain.png

I know we have a LOT of different front end applications on the blockchain...

I'm writing this post on one of the best it has to offer (@LeoFinance) and when push comes to shove, this is a blogging and content creation platform.

Other front ends like @threespeak @actifit @clicktrackprofit @peakd @ecency you name it...All would fall under that category of content creation platforms.

And I know there's so much more you can do on the blockchain but I'd like to focus on this core concept of...Creating content for this post.

It's how I came to know the blockchain and even though there is a movement to stay away from being labeled as a 'blogging blockchain', I think it's our roots and I'd MUCH RATHER write my content here, than off chain.

So for those that are told to...

Come to the blockchain...Write content...Get rewarded...

It can be frustrating to get started and keep going. Mainly because there is this belief that you can just pop on write a few words and then you will earn hundreds of dollars a week from your time here.

Can you earn some extra crypto by creating here?

Absolutely, and with the different tribes and tokens found on Hive-Engine, you can find the perfect niche community for that content...However the fact is, when you start out...It's going to be rough to get noticed.

Here's a few tips I'd like to share from my 3 years plus on the blockchain, that I hope can help you see how rewarding this place can truly be:

Show Up. Everyday!

IMG_2670.jpg

I'm reading 'The Practice by Seth Godin' and this little tidbit really stuck out to me...

You are really going to be happy that you started building your brand and reputation on the blockchain today....Rather than in a few months when the world comes to Hive!

Think about it...How easy it is to stick out from the crowd now when there are only a few hundred daily content creators...When there are tens of thousands...It gets a lot harder.

So if you build up a portfolio of content now, when the masses come (and they ARE coming) you'll look like a star and you'll be someone people WANT to follow and pay attention to.

Think Of The Big Picture

IMG_2668.jpg

Another gem from 'The Practice'....

But what this speaks on is how important it is to not only show up daily, but also to get away from building 'short term' goals as our focus.

The big picture on the blockchain is what matters!

I think it's part of the DNA of crypto...A lot of day traders and investors are here to make a quick buck and flip it...That's fine and all, but I feel the big picture is this...We are building a decentralized blockchain based community that has the power to change...Everything!

To me, that's why I think people need to get involved here, stay the course and keep growing with the chain and community!

Don't Be Too Cool To Reply!

Here's something I've noticed in building relationships on this chain but also in traditional social media....People LOVE to talk about themselves and what they are doing.

And what's crazy...Others pay attention!

You get followers and they share in your excitement. They engage with you and make a comment on your latest piece of content...

And then silence....Not a single reply.

But then you'll hear these same people complain about...

"I'm not getting as many followers as I used to!"

"Engagement sucks and is way down!"

"I am giving up!"

If only they saw the MASSIVE value it is to highlight, appreciate and engage with your audience.

If you haven't built an audience yet...That's how you do it!!!!

Please don't be the content creator that thinks they are above replying to EVERY SINGLE COMMENT that is left on your posts...Do it, and build those relationships we all say we value so much.

I hope these 3 tips help...This is such a remarkable place to build your brand, build your followings and even...With time...Build your crypto stacks ;)

First time I heard of ecency honestly and the design on there is SLICK!

Showing up every day and putting in the work is critical. Some days you might not feel like writing but you should still be interacting each and every day through comments, votes and other platforms. Failure to do so will quickly find yourself off the radar of this fast paced world we live in anymore.

The time and effort however is rewarded in the long run! Great tips!

Hive is so many things. I’ve been trying to wrap my head around a good way to tell people what this is for a while now.

But great tips, being consistent with just these 3 things will get you pretty far on this platform.

Great share

Well I'm only here to talk about myself, may you proceed with the flattery please ? :D
Joke aside it's a pleasure to follow you here and there, you are genuinely engaging and sharing your positive mindset.
Sometimes also I get reply which are bringing value but are more like a closed comment without real opening to reply. Those are the ones I find challenging to engage. How do you handle that ?

Three phenomenal tips in my book. Though I am new to a lot of the platforms I am on now, I have been able to get responses from people who are much more established than I. The willingness of the community to interact has been shocking but entirely amazing. It helps a new content creator to get established and gain confidence when the people at the top are involved with the process of the new guy. Replying is super important for all of us, great great post!

So awesome to hear that and welcome to the fun :)

That's a HUGE difference between this chain and old one...I think everyone here, genuinely wants everyone using it, to win!

The process takes time for sure, but good community support is so vital!

Engaging is how to increase one's network and in turn gain in rewards such as more upvotes and attention. I did not realize this until later down the road. Now I post daily just to reap rewards daily. Thanks.

It's the key to all of it. The problem is, we all need time for it to develop...The relationships, our content, our network....Just can't happen overnight.

That is key, and the other thing I learned is how upvoting at least the first comment left by someone, can make a difference especially in the eyes of a new person.

It happened to me on Steemit, where I was crafting these substantial posts that no one was seeing. Then one day I left a thoughtful comment, came home and saw a response and an upvote that was more than my own post received.

I think this shows an appreciation for the contribution made by the author and can inspire someone on the fence to keep going! :)

Great point!

I try to upvote every comment, and it's never going to be a massive vote...But just a small token of appreciation!

But wow, some of those big votes...Sure can make someones day in the comments :)

Lol I find myself 50/50 sometimes on whether or not to leave a comment, but I find it is best to leave better than not to. I do read all the replies I get but I don't always reply back. My upvote doesn't count for much besides a little bit of HE tokens and I am not trying to optimize that because I find myself leaving the VP max.

It's funny you know, I love the upvotes...Don't get me wrong...But for a content creator, my biggest reward is seeing the comments come in :)

I think you get plenty of comments relative to HIVE posts. But I do agree that the interactions are a little fun to see as you can learn some new things every now and then.

This is enlightening! Thanks for sharing these three tips - show up every day, see the big picture and purse it, and always reply comments and build relationships.

Indeed engagement is low. Still, we have to start somewhere rather than complain. I'm not aware of the front end @clicktrackprofit. Will have to check it out.

These tips are meaningful and I'm working along these lines already. Hive is the place to be! 🙂🍀

Wow.. This said it all and its really what I have been applying.

My account maybe 3 years old but I just became active last year june after leaving steem without understanding a thing from it. I

Since my come back, I had been more focused on my growth: blogging everyday, and building my account in Hive Power wise. I believe little processes that we do makes big outcomes in future.

Comments are very important and have regular content. Build your brand and let them notice you. Maybe some controversial content? comments? Just respect others. Do not copy the content of others and be yourself. This is my way😃

Fantastic tips for the newbies. One thing that most newbies don't understand is that it takes time to grown and that patience and consistency are very important as well as engagement.

Exactly.

Time...You have to invest it, just like investing in anything...But the fruits of it don't always show up right away.

And then silence....Not a single reply.

In my opinion this is the single most horrible mistake to do when people give a comment to our posts. The person who comented will never comment on our posts again...

Yup, blows my mind.

I stopped posting comments on multiple big accounts on Hive, and never got a reply so I won't go back. I might read their posts again, but if they can't take 30 seconds to reply to those engaging with them....Meh.

This is an empowering post!

Short-term goals can be focused on doing what needs to be done now...things we have control over...such as showing up, posting, engaging, etc.

Long-term goals can be outcome-based...reaping the fruit from what you are sowing now...

Can we describe it like this?:

  • Short-term: Showing up (sowing)
  • Medium-term: Reply and engage (watering and nurturing)
  • Long-term: Reap the benefits.

This is awesome information! Thanks for sharing!

The most that I am fighting with is to show up everyday as I am not always producing a post. Lately I have a shallow inspirations and I don't want to keep saying same thing over and over again. I need to rethink my creativity process from writing just about what I am doing to expand to other trends, info or crypto moves. Let's see how my writing behavior can be adapted and thanks for giving these pointers!

Think I mentioned this to ya' on Noise too...For me, I get a TON of ideas for content...By listening to podcasts and reading books in my niche.

So much inspiration and gives me weeks worth of content to write about :)

Agreed! Simply showing up every day has tremendous multiplier effects. This is also true when it comes to putting out content on our own personal sites.

I think Google's later algorithms take into account things like post frequency and post recency more than they used to.

Love that example. It really does...It compounds almost into a daily habit that pulls in great results...But you need to get the snowball rolling down the hill first.

You are really going to be happy that you started building your brand and reputation on the blockchain today....Rather than in a few months when the world comes to Hive!

I'm experiencing this right now comparing my LeoFinance and Publish0x accounts with Medium. I barely get any view in Medium vs hundred and thousands in Publish0X and here. And about income, you can make an idea.

Hiving is stressfull because most whales vote only those writers. That is the whale choice and assesment. We can not beg for votes. That is why most new writers leave hive.

It's a nasty little circle...That's why I'm thankful for the LEO community as well as CTP communities...They vote...Everyone. Not just their buddies!

I see similarities between steem and hive, vote among close friends. Should one make to be popular for three years? Not all members are as hard as stones. one or two months no income they will leave. Nothing more to do with hive. They will talk bad about hive. Then whales will vote whales. They collect more tokens among them. That is the decentralized we want? Let's see the creation of tribes. whales on tribes used to be minnows on hive. after that there will be hyperinflation tokens among the whales on tribes because the token will only circle around their close friends.

Time will take the "begging for votes" out of the cycle.

Those of us who have been here for "a long time" know that people come and go on this blockchain. If you become one of the people who come and stay while the ebb and flow of people continues, you will find yourself in an elite crew of people who have been here for a long time, and know each other.

You may not get those "whale votes" but your publications will get lots of dolphin votes - because if you stay long enough, you eventually become a dolphin.

It's almost too rough for the beginners. I know, it's the same as the real life. But how many people wants to start a second life as hard as the first one when they just want to try out the crypto world. I see a lot of people left because of it (in multiple platforms).

Great tips! I always find your posts inspirational and motivational!

It's how I came to know the blockchain and even though there is a movement to stay away from being labeled as a 'blogging blockchain', I think it's our roots and I'd MUCH RATHER write my content here, than off chain.

I get that we're becoming so much more than that now, but our roots are in the blogosphere. People used to always get mad at me back on that other chain when I'd refer to it as blockchain blogging. I get it now, we are growing past that, but our roots are here for sure!

This is a great place to be indeed. I'm guessing we're going to see a huge influx of new accounts as we experience this rising market cycle and price action. The people that are community building now will definitely be reaping those rewards when the masses come to see what's really happening here! Now is definitely the time to try and get noticed, build friendships and of course join in all the fun our communities have to offer!

Thanks for another inspirational post! I always tend to find your posts at the exact moment I need them most!

NEXT YEAR BILLS MAFIA = SUPER BOWL.

These are great tips indeed. The third tip is what started to change the game for me.

When I first started, I was very frustrated, as you mentioned, because I couldn't generate literally any engagement. And not so much because I wasn't "getting paid", although that is nice, but the mere fact of not being noticed can be a bit cruel to a newcomer.

When I started engaging with the few readers I had and, which is also very important, with readers on other posts, things got a little better and now I'm more motivated than ever!
