I don't agree with what @taskmaster said on people not spending any cryptocurrency and it not being cryptocurrency. I think if you build it, they will come and yes, prices can go up, but there is also something to be said for urgency and return on your spending. I would spend my Hive, BTC, EUR, USD, regardless if it goes up or down.

The proof is that if people didn't spend Eth or Hive, there wouldnt be NFTs being sold and bought.

Regular currencies also have speculative aspects, that's why Forex markets exist and maybe is one of the largest used in the world.
