Hive's Steady Momentum; In Retrospect

avatar

With hive, all I have learnt to do in recent times is to just take little gains while the prices climb steadily, this would mean keeping my hive power growing, powering up a little of my earnings, keeping my curation reward powered up, then taking like 25% of my earning saving it up in HBD and hive as well then unlocking my savings whenever there's a major surge in price.

One of the reasons why I have decided to start stacking HBD is that it's actually stable, changing just a little as time goes on, this means that eventually I can buy back hive at a later stage if it eventually drops significantly in price, but this might not even happen in a year's time but eventually a time would come where one would need to buy back hive with a more stable coin earned in a decent bull run.

During the fork I sold 50% of my steem for hive and kept it powered up and I have been using it to curate ever since. Being only 0.11$ three months ago, it's astonishing how hive have grown in prices, it's not like we didn't expect it, because we have helplessly watched BTC and Eth take the bull by the storm and did really huge numbers.

Although we didn't really see a lot of alt coin doing these massive gains but then a few followed through. We saw many people hit millions through doge and some altcoins began to do well and hive wasn't. This was the time for the criticism. Many people began to talk, and even seeing steem doing pretty well even made people began to think "oh well not bad for a centralised chain, oh I wish I never pulled from steem to hive, oh this! Oh that"

Truth is; for me it hasn't always been about the gains, I never regretted pulling my stake off steem, these feelings of regrets eventually comes to the mind of people when money eventually is involved. But the fact that we can't really have a system where one cannot build without the insecurity of having to always fear as to when Justin Sun will pull the plug and cease the stake of everyone.

When people think only money and profit, they tend to lose the bigger picture, they forget how easily people's fund can be stolen. Sometimes it's essential to understand that building for the bigger perspective is more important that taking the little gains. I'm some who is scared of uncertainty, I like to plan my schedule, my investment schemes, scopes and system and basically I like to control my future.

As for hive; many shares different ideologies about it, for some it's take all, for a few it's take some, for others it's stake all while others are observant from a third person's point of view. Nevertheless, there's nothing like having. One thing I know is, it's always tempting to take all, people would rather lose nothing than lose some, only a few will be willing to lose some for the prospect of taking or having it all.

It's an insane world where nothing is certain. But then sometimes it's really important to chose one's poison rather carefully. The only way one can fully utilize the futuristic prospects of hive is to actually unlock other ways to establish and own other stakes, be it with the second layer tokens or some other means. Being totally locked in on hive makes people sell what they have for short and this can be futuristically detrimental.

Without drifting off the main focus, hive is relatively doing it, bit by bits, it's important we have a solid community and this has been key. Hopefully the witnesses can begin to pull strings to get hive to become that dream chain that we all crave. We're far from perfection this is totally true, but the stunning growth of hive development wise has been that beacon that shows us a peek into the future.
We hope bitcoin will not happen again and spoil this momentum. @nathanmars owes me 10$ by the way, hive has hit and surpassed the 1$ margin and systematically cooling off to correct before the next surge; hopefully.

Hahaha well you're definitely right about this, he gave his all for steem and I'm really glad it's paying off with hive currently, such a hardworker.

A wise way of working with Hive's growth, especially with this SHOCKER today!

The shocker is why we must keep adjusting our antics and working towards long-term, nothing is certain but we must plan.

Exactly. Hive's moonshot is practically unknown by the rest of the crypto world ... we are still SO EARLY on this ... time to stay the course, nothing more...
