New project by noise.cash for twitter tips in BCH, causes issues with tag used!
Noise.cash expands its tipping feature and the tag #bitcoincash is apparently being shadow banned out of twitter!
I saw the announcement yesterday here and I cant hide that I was excited to see the project moving on*
What is tipb.ch?
Introducing tipb.ch!
tipb.ch is a very simple project that was suggested to us by Kui Wang (the developer of smartBCH) about a week ago. We thought it was cool and decided to do it.
The idea is very simple. If you want to get tipped with Bitcoin Cash on social media, like on Twitter, you usually need to post your address like bitcoincash:qps40tntvd49vuecdcwcg6cxml7f5fzfc5hyytkm6p, which is very long and eats away your 280 characters.
You can register a name and use it. You can actually register up to 5 names and addresses.
Of course I need not to say that I immediately registered my username :)
If you want to create your own username (just to catch the spot) - click on 'create page' and you will be easily transferred to create your username - you will need your bch address - an email and the code to be sent to your email :)
Simple!
So, the plan from noise.cash was/is to tip any posts contain a tipb.ch address + the tag #bitcoincash address
That's exactly what we plan to do with our newest tipb.ch Bitcoin Cash faucet for Twitter. Post a Tweet that has a hashtag of #bitcoincash and your tipb.ch URL (you need to register first) and get a tip from us!
How can the twitter users be tipped?
Check out this link, where you can see all the info and the recent tipped tweets
Post something about Bitcoin Cash with the hashtag #bitcoincash AND your link, you might get a Bitcoin Cash tip.
The faucet is looking at Twitter posts that contain a hashtag #bitcoincash and a link to your tipb.ch page (you need to create one first).
How much a tip are we talking about here?
How big is the tip? We can't tell you yet. Probably between $0.05 and $1.00 in Bitcoin Cash. We might give more in the beginning, but lower it if more and more people join the faucet.
Also, they may change the hashtag (which seems very likely) in the near future due to .. (read on) - so do check out the link for further announcements
But you mentioned issues.. what were you talking about?
Apparently some (or most of) the tweets are .. gone right after they are posted - when the user use the #bitcoincash tag - why? Who knows? Maybe there too many tweets and twitter assumed that the tweets were purely spam?
Not sure if it will be ever fixed - but it seems that I could hardly find any recent tweet wit the tag - I could not even see my recent tweet!
Will I continue using the tag on twitter?
Not sure, but I am guessing not for now. I will be checking the status though and will let you know if something important comes up :)
Important - Withdrawal .. when / how?
*Having written all the above I have to mention that I have heard for a variety of issues regarding withdrawal problems. Users like Adrian (@acesontop) are mentioning that all these micro-payments make it impossible for them to withdraw the amounts and to cash out. Did you have this problem? Were you able to withdraw your BCT? I would love to know about your experience, ideas & suggestions perhaps! :)
Thank you for visiting!

I have had problems when I used the bitcoin.com wallet and now with exodus as well. I am not that technical to understand the details, but one thing is clear. Whenever I try to withdraw no matter the amount from my exodus wallet it either freezes, works very slow, but never sends the transaction. I'm just stuck with 0.12 BCH. The wallet works flawlessly with any other crypto I have on it. For me BCH is useless.
Thank you Adrian!
I will gather some info and try to come up with a new post - perhaps even trying to withdraw some of my own. I use bitcoin.com wallet

i am really curious as well as i use the same wallet. When i tried to see if i could send some bitcoin cash it was ok. To be honest though i didn't click "ok" to see what will happen with the transaction

Interesting. Really looking forward to more information on this in the following weeks. I've been using all sorts of crypto tags on Twitter and never ever came across anything like this. Even though I do use noise.cash, I totally missed the news about #bitcoincash tweets gone missing. Thanks for the heads up, Kate!

I don't think it is the issue with the bitcoin cash tag as much as the tipb.ch tag.. I guess, Twitter probably reads this as a nefarious link.
I will check it out today again, but tipb.ch was not a tag, it is a link. Do you think it could be considered unsafe?

Yeah, the link. It's like bit.ly links. Not that link in itself is a problem but using it in bit.ly mode disallows users to know what the link is all about and erroneously end up clicking it. Many a time a phishing link. Again, this is my theory. If we wait, we will know better from the noise.cash team. :)

I just learned about this. Thanks for sharing. Anyways, is it similar to cctip and coinkit?

I am not sure, I have not used either of them to be honest.
Are you on noise? If yes, tell me your username to follow you!

It's crazy! But I'm happy about the shoutout from the noise.cash team - got some additional followers on Twitter. :))
