Is it too late to invest in BTC or in any alt?

avatar

If you are like me, and by me I mean the kind of people who still believe that the alt season will arrive sooner rather than later despite what many say, then I have a feeling that you'll find the following charts really interesting and you might also have a clear picture of where we are heading to.

I am pretty sure that you're familiar with "it will only get worse before it gets better" saying, right? Right. NO? Well lemme explain what I mean.

Bitcoin determines everything...

20210119 17_04_00Untitled Paint.png

As you can see exactly 4 years ago one could buy a whole BTC with less than $1000. 12 months later that very same BTC was worth $20.000. That was the end of the previous cycle but I rest assure you that exactly 4 years prior to that run the pattern was almost identical. So if history is about to repeat itself then what you're seeing now isn't a bull run...but a warm up. One that will make the previous bull run look like a dwarf.

Bull run ya said?

A bull market is the condition of a financial market in which prices are rising or are expected to rise. The term "bull market" is most often used to refer to the stock market but can be applied to anything that is traded, such as bonds, real estate, currencies and commodities. Because prices of securities rise and fall essentially continuously during trading, the term "bull market" is typically reserved for extended periods in which a large portion of security prices are rising. Bull markets tend to last for months or even years.

As I said earlier what we're seeing now isn't exactly a bull run. It's just BTC's warm up before it enters the six figure realm. The only other project that kinda behaves as if this a bull run is ETH which is about to break its previous ATH too very soon. So lets see how some of the big names performed for the past 4 years and what should we expect if things play out the way we want them to.

ETH

LTC

20210119 17_36_56Litecoin price today, LTC marketcap, chart, and info _ CoinMarketCap.png

Same story here...4 years ago one could buy a single LTC for less than $4...Four years later it is comfortably sitting at $160....

XMR

20210119 17_40_12Monero price today, XMR marketcap, chart, and info _ CoinMarketCap.png

Again...XMR was only worth $12 back in the day and exploded at ~ $500 12 months later. it is currently cruising at $150+ despite all the FUD from governments which resulted in multiple delistings from major exchanges.

Actually I could drop 100 more charts that look exactly like the ones above but I am pretty sure you get the point.

So the question is: Is it too late to invest in BTC or in any alt? And the answer is NO. It's never too late to invest in Bitcoin nor in alts that have real life use cases and solve more problems than the ones they create...

Of course you could have jumped in those projects some months ago and hold twice the amount of coins you are holding now but hey...we are only humans ya know...you can't predict the lower low to buy in nor the higher high to sell...

One thing's for sure though...that the party is just getting started...

I think it really helps put things in perspective to look at log scale charts instead of linear scale. In your linear BTC chart it looks like BTC has run up a ton, especially as compared to 2017, but if you look at the log chart you get a much better idea of how little it is in percentage terms and how much more there is likely to go.

True. Yet I wanted those dips to be displayed as much as possible. To remind me of the times I didn't trust my gut when I wanted to jump in and I didn't...

With all that printed fiat over the course of the years that BITCOIN will absorb. I think our party is just getting started.

A mini alt season has already started since the new year eve.
$ADA is more than 100% up in 2021 (18 days).
$DOT and $LINK almost 100% up.
$VET is more than 50% up.

You are just looking at bad alt coins.

Those gains are nothing...when things really start taking off and prices go beast mode...20x...50x...100x then you'll realize what a bull market looks like...

Bitcoin rises and consolidates. Alts then rise and consolidate. Now Defi spikes and consolidates. Wash rinse and repeat. Bitcoin may never look back after hitting 50k.

Bitcoin may never look back after hitting 50k

I highly doubt that but we shall see. What I am certain of is that 10K+ corrections will be on the weekly menu once it hits $50K...

I hope that LEO and Hive will do such moves of 40x in 4 years. If they do, we all shall be good...till then, as I think it will happen, just relax and enjoy the ride!

It is time to get your head wet
in the crypto space.
Timing is really important but thinking
it is too late is not understanding what
lays ahead.
It is important not to focus on the period
now cause four more years it could be way harder
to get in.

I know right...some folks though get discouraged and think they've missed the train. It's never too late

Today I have seen two coins DOT and Chainlink and both are getting a good increase in price. Can't say whether its late but certainly I will keep a close eye on both and whenever I get a better buying chance then will grab it.

Your articles inspire me! I want to buy more and more but I think I've spent everything I can on crypto. It's going to mind-blowing if everything goes similar to what happened before.

the fact that you can get a yield on your money is reason enough that its not to late, even if people just buy stablecoins that get 10%

DCA is the only way to get in there :) Too much speculation and noise around the price. Keep your BTC and ETH and dollar cost every week.

If we could predict the future that well ... we all would have bought bitcoin when it was just 1 cent, but if that had happened, I really wonder if bitcoin was there where it is right now. I agree on that it's never too late ... And we're all human indeed, we do have the ability to learn from the past. If all humans use that, is another story.

At the time it was 1 cent most of us were pretty busy doing random stuff instead of predicting what the future will look like

I love the way you're doing your Bitcoin projections. I agree with your thinking that this is actually just the start of a new bullish cycle. History always repeats and when you throw in the supply side shocks that institutional buying is causing, price still has only 1 way to go.

As for Ethereum... Well honestly, that's the bargain of the year right now. How it has taken so long to break its all time highs, is beyond me.

Keep accumulating both ;)

can you even believe it was worth $10 just 4 years ago? Sheeesh...

A $10K investment + holding for 4 years would place you in the millionaires club...

exactly right we just getting warmed up and i can assure you that as people like myself make more and more money on the way up they are going to go for the low hanging fruit. Hive and other decimated alt coins will be bought up.

Nothing will be cheap in the end because basically if your in crypto its because your bullish as hell about it. I have money coming in daily and weekly like many others and that is now building up nicely to a point where i can gobble up vast amounts of cheap alts. The result is everything will rise together and get further and further out of reach.

This bull run maybe less volatile and longer lasting is the only difference.

Long term its like this, the market will stabilise as it becomes more and more diluted. Alts will become worth less and less in satoshis and alt seasons less and less crazy. Reason being Bitcoins on exchanges will be scarce and big money wont touch minor risky alts. An alt season will happen but after this run ill be staying out of anything that is risky and sticking to the big ones.

P.s Bitcoin is about to take a dive, but either way alts are going up.

Alts will become worth less and less in satoshis

Hive is a bright example...not too long ago I bought a shit ton of it at 2880 Sats. USD wise it was about 15 cents...some months later Satoshi wise its 8x down yet its price is almost the same...and that's exactly why 50% of everyone's portfolio should be BTC and the remaining 50% split among other projects...because you can always buy alts cheaper...

P.s Bitcoin is about to take a dive, but either way alts are going up.

It started already....damn...drop those info sooner :P Was a good timing to short it

I have to agree on the alts. None of them have value propositions as solid as Bitcoin at the moment.

I don't think it will repeat 1 by 1. If nothing crazy happens in the world, that makes money useless, I don't see a 140x any time soon :)

I would also expect the "new" big holder would dump a high % of their coins if their win goal is reached and liquidity is there. If one of them starts a chain reaction will follow. That can be similar to 2018.

But I'm happy if the market proof me wrong :)

Cryptos will probably have higher prices in 2024, 2026, 2028... and so on, the overprinting of fiat currencies make this almost a certainty. In 6 months though, cryptos could be affected by potentially bad actors such as the possible frauds going on with Tether if it turns out to be an actual fraudulent project.

Totally agree...at some point in the not so distant future Tether could blow in our faces...

They just keep printing and printing and printing....

To late ?

To late?!

I hear this all the time. Every single week
And these words turn me ON. Turn me mad.

In fact , there is no such thing as "to late". Not at all.
Or do you really think todays prices will start suddenly stagnant, and/or keep growing (if ever) at modest 1-2% per year ?

Yes timing is important. Early bird catch the worm !

There is though a one significant difference:
The longer you still wait, and the later you step into cryptos, the LONGER you might need to wait, to really benefit from it.

If you are not very young, and/or you will wait another 5 or 10 years - the odds and chances to benefit moves dramatically from you.
Moves to your children and grandchildren. Things take time. Things slow down.
Days of 10000x or 1000x's are gone, gone forever.

Is this the only gains levels what makes you interested?

Really?

Just to quote something from the post in case you've missed it

So the question is: Is it too late to invest in BTC or in any alt? And the answer is NO. It's never too late to invest in Bitcoin nor in alts that have real life use cases and solve more problems than the ones they create...

Personally I am here for the long run. I ain't very young nor too old...late 30s actually and I am pretty sure that those 1000x runs are gone forever. Been here 3+ years, stagnant years in terms of returns and I ain't going anywhere...

So I guess you have your answer. I am not in a hurry nor I expect to become millionaire overnight either... it was a rhetorical question to make people think rather that being discouraged by current prices.

I think there is always an opportunity to start investing. The profits may not be that high, but they do exist.

There are so many people who think they have missed the boat and stay out only to miss the boat even more. I missed BTC when I was a teen and when I started investing in 2017, I skipped BTC and went straight to altcoins. It is the smaller marketcap coins that are the easiest to go up. Don't forget NFTs either. I have been investing into @risingstargame and @splinterlands a lot. My @splinterlands account is actually my 2nd largest position in my cryptocurrency portfolio.

I dont think that its late for bitcoin if we have a long-term goal. Its just the beginning of bulling mode in bitcoin and the best of it is yet to come. There are many good alt as well along with bitcoin so I still think that its a good time to buy if you are having a 4-5 year-long goal.
