Generate passive income with your Hive Power

One of the main incentives for powering up your hive is being able to use it to generate even more Hive. That was one of the things that made me addicted to steem, it was the first Proof of stake crypto that was simple enough for me to understand. Nowadays there is an abundance of opportunities to put your cryptos to work but that wasn't the case back then.

Make Hive Power work for you

You can earn Hive by posting but if you're just too lazy for that there are other alternatives to put your hive power to good use with very little work and oversight.
Curation content is easy however it still requires some work to find good content and be sure that you're using all of your voting power. You have to make sure you're NEVER sitting at 100% VP to maximize your gains and that requires you to curate content every 3 to 4 days.
If you just want your Hive to grow without your oversight there are a couple of different methods by which you can automate 99% of this process.

Dlease

Screenshot 20210709 at 17.16.02.png

Dlease is a platform where you can delegate your hive on the open market, users make offers and all you have to do is find one that suits your desires and click on Delegate, it works with Keychain so the whole process couldn't be easier. When the delegation period is over you get a transfer from Dlease warning you to revoke the delegation. Dlease transfers you're payout daily which is great if you want to snowball your hp little by little.
I go there every now and then to see the APRs, if I see anything over 15% I jump on the opportunity right away.

Hive.vote

Hive.vote allows you to fully automate your voting. There are two different ways to set this up:

  1. Create the list of your favorite authors and you'll upvote all their content automatically.
  2. Follow a curation trail. Every time the curation trail leader account upvotes something you will also upvote it right away.

There are a couple of disadvantages with both of these methods because on the first if the authors you like suddenly decide to start posting low-quality content you'll be supporting them automatically.
On the second one, you're relying on the curation trail owner to use you're voting power wisely, if he decides to upvote bad content you're along for the ride.

I have Hive.vote active on my account to make sure I'm not wasting any VP. If my account reaches over 80% VP it will automatically upvote some of my preferred authors. It is a great service but use it wisely.

Delegate

I'm not very educated on earning from delegation services so you have to research the best APYs if this is something you want to do with your HP. I sometimes delegate to @leo.voter because I like the project (I don't even know the APY), they payout daily in their own currency (LEO).

Voting bots

I don't like using voting bots and I think the other options are superior and healthier for the Hive ecosystem so you'll have to do your own research if this is something you want to use.

Powering up has been a fantastic way of getting incentive for those that may not have time for writing different content. this is a good idea

You can also delegate to several projects on Hive engine to generate passive income in the projects token. For example, you can delegate to Leofinance project - @Leo.voter to get Leo tokens passively at a rate of 17%apy(last I checked).

These are indeed great ways of letting your hive power work for you. Particularly love the one of dlease and delegation to Leo. Will have to check which yield better interest and is good for the long term. Thanks for sharing this.

Both are great and if in doubt maybe just delegate/use a little hp for each of them, diversification is key.

Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you for engaging with my posts every now and then, I really appreciate it 😁
Sorry I haven't done the same lately. I see you post about football which is a topic I love! I've been missing your posts on my curation journeys. Promise to keep a closer eye on your content from now on. Have a great weekend

Yeah. Will try that. My pleasure. Always find your contents interesting. Excited about the whole thing of earning crypto online. Don't want to miss out on any available opportunity has I believe in the future of this space.

No problem. Didn't figure you would love sports. That would be great. Thanks, have an awesome weekend too.

I think one is missing for you but that is the natural HIVE inflation rate of 3% even if you don't do anything. But I guess its done automatically.

Dumb question, I know, but I am not a Hive veteran, so please forgive me: Did anyone make hive.vote work for him? I have added rather a lot of users to Fanbase (including myfreebtc), Daily Limit set to 5, Weekly Limit set to 30, Status green and still it won't vote for me :/ Only voting I see on blocks are my manual votes

"Upvoting status: Normal
Current Upvote Mana: 96.99%
Upvote Mana threshold: 5%"

That is very strange, I decided to see if mine is working and it is... I have 100% voting weight, wait time 5 minutes, daily limit 2 and weekly limit 10. status with a check mark.

yes, I have no clue... tried to enter your settings.

I think if I entered a wrong key at the beginning / the sign-up, but I guess if that would have been the case HiveSigner or hive.vote would have made me aware of it...

I think that you only need to give them the posting key since the point is only to vote on content there's no need for them to get the active key but I'm not sure 😅
That might be the issue...

You need more HP (Hive Power). We don't broadcast low-value votes at hive.vote. At least 15 HP for 100% votes. I recommend getting +100 HP.
