How to get more views on your Hive / Leo posts

How to get more views on your Hive Leo posts.png

When you're new to hive and haven't built a decent following, writing quality content isn't enough to take you to the trending page. It is disheartening writing a post you feel great about and getting very few upvotes. I suspect that a lot of newcomers quit after putting a few hours into an interesting post that adds a lot of value and it goes completely under the radar.

While there are good curation services that manage to find some of these underappreciated posts you still dependent on luck. That's why you have to make your own luck by marketing your posts. With the new curation system implemented by the most recent hard fork, you don't even have to wait a couple of minutes before starting advertising your post. In fact, the sooner you do it the better. Getting good traction in the first few minutes after posting gets into the Hot section, getting even more eyes on your content.

Discord

There are some channels related to Hive that let you promote your posts. I will leave a list of channel links that have this feature, make sure you follow the rules, and promote only related content on the appropriate channels. For example, if your content is exclusively related to splinterlands gameplay don't go around promoting it on the Leofinance discord channel.
Engage with other posts that were promoted before yours, I believe that you get back what you give. If people only go there to spam post links it becomes worthless. In fact, some channels like the SBI one require you to engage with a previous post before dropping your link.

Leofinance doesn't let you post your post links directly, you have to share your post on Twitter and then you can share your tweet on their discord channel. As always @leofinance does it better, this way you promote the platform on Twitter, and in exchange, you get to promote your tweet with the post link on leo.

Reddit

There is a multitude of different subreddits where you could share your posts but you want to focus mainly on the one's hive related so that you can get followers and upvotes. I usually use Hivenetwork and LeoFinance for most of my posts.
You should also promote your posts on other subreddits in order to help LeoFinance grow. Someone might click your link and think that writing on leofinance might be something they're interested in and join the community.

You can also share your Reddit posts links on Leo's discord channel. Avoid sharing Reddit posts on the Leofinance subreddit because people who frequent that specific subreddit are already aware of Leofinance's existence. Share links from your posts about Leofinance on other subreddits, showing that you're helping promote LEO.

Twitter

Share all your posts on Twitter and use related hashtags like #crypto, #hive, #finance. I noticed a while back that the biggest hive / Leo users are usually very active on Twitter and get a lot of attention to themselves and hive because of it.
Posting Leo, CUB, and Hive related tweets helps you connect with a lot of other users. Engage with them on Twitter and your relationship will carry over to Hive.

Other social media websites

Noise.cash is also a great place to share your post links but they said they were going to remove rewards from the people who share their Leo / Hive links on their platforms since they see them as competitors. I've stopped sharing the links to my posts but I still connect with a lot of other hive users in there.

If you don't have a Torum account yet I strongly recommend you get one. There are a lot of Hive users in there. It's a great place to share your links and earn some XTM while you do so.

Other recommendations are welcomed!

I'm sure there are other discord servers and social media platforms that I didn't mention here. If you have some other recommendations that have been working for you, please drop a comment about them. We're all trying to improve and if we help each other we can reach further.

In fact, although I have some time now, first on steemit and now on hive; I think I found your post because you posted an article in a subreddit. I agree is a very nice tool to broadcast your content. I think I need to pay attention to those social networks that you suggested as promotion tools. Thanks for sharing!
