A high price will add layers to HIVE.

At the moment we are seeing a lot of development but it will be a long time before we can compete with a chain like Ethereum or Cardano now.

We have a couple of groups leading the way with Hive engine, splinterlands and Leofinance. These are the flagship projects on Hive, bringing in users and value to the eco-system. These are the team which are keeping the price at it's current level right now by keeping people active and interested on Hive.

Price is nothing and it's everything.

In the past year we have seen a lot of different people and groups starting small projects but none of which have gained huge momentum just yet. The have an active community within hive but nothing that has reached externally yet.

  • Developers cost money.
  • Marketing costs money.
  • Time costs money.
  • Innovation costs money

Any start up business will be an expense for a long time. It takes a lot of money to start and grow a new business many of which fail in the early days due to lack of funds.

What we have on HIVE is a great chance to create a positive cycle. The three projects leading the way right now have gotten this far due to the community putting their time, money and belief into them. ( AS well as a great dev team and all that they have done to create them.)

If these projects grew the price of HIVE to $5, we would suddenly have a lot more users with the funds to start even more projects.

With $5 HIVE my account was suddenly worth $350,000 and means that I would not need to work my current job but could instead do something that I love.

For me that would be HIVE and building something that adds to the eco-system. A tribe, game, application. Put a roadmap in place, source some devs. Have the capital to get it off the ground.

I would probably be one of 50 that might do the same. Now we have gone from 5 applications bringing in external users to 50.

What would that do to our userbase and price?

Think big. Think $50 dollars.

That is not a crazy number with a million users and lots of use case for the HIVE token.

What happens then for the positive cycle?

Suddenly accounts with 1000 HIVE are sitting on some serious funds. We have more users, more developers, more tools and even more money.

Time for the next wave of projects, some of which will connect the system and add more value to the whole eco-system.

That is why we need to help these first projects to be successful. Our next wave of projects is dependent on the success of the pioneers who have brought us to this point.

It doesn't even take much.

  • Use the applications.
  • Bring more people in.
  • Hold where you can to keep the price up.
  • Add your time and knowledge to the group.
  • Be a leader and not just a user.

As a community we can grow and thrive over the next few years. We have a hugely talented group that are dedicated to the chain. It will take time and effort to gain that momentum and hype needed to get to the level of Ethereum and Cardano but it can be done.

If we grow the price, we will grow the eco-system. In the end we will all benefit from what happens in the future.

Hive has enormous potential but the time is not yet ripe.

We still have to create a product that will appeal to the general public and there are many interesting projects that still need development, marketing and fertile ground.

Time will prove us right. Hive $ 5? In 10 years the price could go much furthe 😎

There is a good chance of it with the right moves. only time will tell but if we keep developing more layers on hive and bringing in more users then we will see a big price rise over time.

Money is unavoidable in our current economy but I do believe the development happening on HIVE will make it stand out in the future. Right now there are various projects that can attract way more people in and if it does happen, we can see an explosion in price and community like ETH or ADA.

There are lots of projects in the works that could bring in the people. We have plenty of hope that the eco-system will grow massively in the future.

For all of the hype, there are very few blockchains with real use case and people developing on them. HIVE is one that has both. Over time that will show.

Need to get true decentralized smart contract capability before Hive is in the class of Ethereum or Cardano.

Smart contracts will open up a new wave of options to grow the eco-system.

We don't need to have the same capabilities as them to compete in terms of community, growth and development.

I am not that active on Hive but I have been quiet largely because I came to the same conclusion about building something here. So I started developing something back before Hive was even a thing. I wanted something that I would enjoy and would make me happy to engage on Hive regularly and a way I could comfortably onboard on the platform. But now that I'm nearly done development I'm hesitant to even publish my project on Hive to be honest. I'm not sure what would be a preferable alternative though. Go back to Steem? Try Blurt? Wait for another hard fork to maybe get things right? I'm honestly not sure what to do.

@niallon11 can you tell me why hive or is it just because that's where you have the most staked? I might seem like a cynic and I probably am but I'm also looking for a good reason to work with this particular fork.

(Edited)

You caught me at just the right time. I was going to reply to everything tomorrow but this is the question that I wanted to answer the most and take the time to go over.

I have crypto in a lot of places but hive is my biggest stake. That is because it is the one that I believe in the most. At the moment we are only a year old but there has been so much developed in those twelve months that makes me optimistic. If you follow blocktrades posts like i do, you will see that they are working towards a long term plan of a chain that allows large numbers of applications to set up and work seamlessly and feelessly which no other chain has been able to do to a large scale.

What we have here are a hardcore group of people that will push hive all the way to the end line. I might be slightly biased but it will only take one of the multiple projects to bring a large number of people to hive. Projects like nftshowroom have been gradually gaining momentum and bringing users over from more established sites.

The leo team have been recruiting a large number of developers and will launch multiple applications this year. The hive-engine team, 3speak have a massive launch this year. New apps and games are appearing. There are no guarantees in life but i think that hive will make it in the long run and that is all down to the community.

There are some dicks here with a large stake but over time that will keep getting diluted and as apps take over will become irrelevant as people use layer two tokens for their activity. Hive is what you make of it but every person that is working towards improving it means something. There are so many people trying to make it happen that eventually it will get there.

What type of project are you working on?

Can you give more information and have a chat about how it would work on hive. Or even on an alternative platform?

Yeah if you want to have a back and forth chat I'm in a number of hive community discords. I could try to explain it a bit like this but it will be difficult to go over some of the long term objectives without spoiling it a bit because it has modular steps to implementation.

I can try to give a simple elevator pitch about it but I think it requires a bit of context as to how I came to the conclusions I have. Something I've been noticing is that many people have been making a lot of noise about how the quality of posts need to be improved for Hive to be a better ecosystem and be taken more seriously. I don't necessarily disagree with this sentiment but I have noticed 2 complications. First is post quality is a subjective thing so there's no single solution for what is a high quality post. Second is that I don't see people really providing a path to victory and it comes off as more of a finger wag which I find counterproductive.

Now I'm not going to pretend to have all the answers to this dilemma but I appear to be in a unique position to help given my experience. I have taken post secondary and worked as a TESOL teacher helping people with English as a second language improve their English skills as well as I have a lot of experience with copywriting for work. I also have put a lot of time into doing stand up comedy but I can only comfortably identify it as a hobby and not a job due to the way the industry is slow to break into as well as regulations from last year making it difficult to pursue. I think I've come up with a fun and engaging way for people to pursue improving their skills in this regard if someone wants to that. I also think its important that these improvements are self-moderated with an opt-in type system and bullying people into improving to be a non-helpful direction to take. This is also a perfect opportunity to better connect people and that improving interactivity on Hive will make the social infrastructure stronger which I think could/should be Hive's 'secret sauce' which would give us a way to break away from other competition and improve the price of the token

I'm on discord too, hit me up any time at niallon11#6392.

I agree with your points above. For me, hive is not a suitable place for blogging anymore as we have evolved a long way past that and with smart contracts on the way, layer 2 solutions popping up all over the place and the way that a few people have control over quality content on hive itself i think that a day will come when rewards are moved away form content to be replaced by staking rewards.

What we will have instead are options for rewarding content like the different tribes, websites and other applications that will be built over the next couple of years.

Hive content is too broad and open to interpretation which causes conflict. Within smaller groups and tribes we can stick with what suits our tastes and build stringer communities among like minded people.

I look forward to hearing how you would solve this problem or if it would be an external option linked to hive.

This is a very uplifting and positive look to future of our blockchain. It is right on time as well. With a great deal of FUD going on, we are in need of more optimistic outlooks such as yours.

Leo Finance

Thank you for making my day and challenging the members of our HIVE blockchain to new heights of accomplishment! It takes all of us working together to succeed.

As long as we have the community here then we have great hope for the future.

Other people are out chasing the markets but i would rather work here and build for the future.
