WHAT IS THE MOST APPEALING THING ABOUT BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY?

I earn crypto from the comfort of my bedroom. That doesn't sound so great when you consider the physical inactivity. Thankfully, I am still very much in good shape. But away from the "making money" story, I am sure you're well-acquainted with by now (if you're curious about cryptocurrency), there are some key elements to crypto that many overlook which are critical to the development and growth of the crypto industry. It is far more important than cryptocurrency. It is the technology that gives crypto value. It is blockchain technology.

Blockchain is not synonymous with bitcoin or any of the fancy coins in the market that you're currently crazy about. In fact, crypto is a by-product of this technology and I consider it to be the most important piece of technology of our time and it has the potential of revolutionizing the world.

One aspect of blockchain technology and cryptocurrency I am so passionate about is ownership. There are very few people who own anything. Matter of fact, many of those who think they own things don't. Think about it, what do you possess right now? a house? a job? money in the bank? How easy can these things be taken away from you?

If the government (in my country) decides today that they want my property bought with my own money, there is absolutely nothing I can do about it because there is a law that gives them the power to do so. The same applies to your job. Recently I left a job because my supposed employer thought he could talk to me however he pleases. After all, he OWNS the company I worked for. I would not have, so I left. "The audacity" he might have thought. I am certain my actions hit him by surprise because many would die for the pennies he was offering but not me. And that's because I have an option. A better one.

Being creatively free and owning my platform is something I have taken for granted. I can say the same about millions of people across the world who have traded their power for security and have become slaves to a corrupt system that favors only a few. Ownership is a lost concept. Many have rights to things they don't own (their content, platform, even money).

At the core of decentralization are the fundamental principles of ownership and responsibility. I believe both go hand in hand. Many people want to own things they are not responsible for which is impossible from a decentralized standpoint. When I talk to people about hive and leofinance, they easily get overwhelmed by seemingly trivial things like protecting their account keys, blockchain governance, etc. It is a handful, I know, but in other to truly appreciate the decentralized experience you need to be immersed in it.

In a nutshell, I believe blockchain technology (not just cryptocurrency) will change the world. It all starts with people knowing they can control their own money, then it trickles down to other aspects of their lives they've given up control and that's when we will see mass adoption. It will impact social media, gaming, and every form of entertainment. This is the future I envision, how about you?
